Story
Meet Marjorie! Marjorie is a beautiful brindle pit bull mix, about 42 pounds, at 2 years old, and is so deserving of a forever home! She has been through a lot in her short life including being a wonderful mama to a 9-pup litter in the fall of 2023 around the time she was rescued by Saving Hope, plus overcoming heartworms and a bad respiratory virus that nearly took her life. Marjorie is stronger and healthier than ever now; her puppies found homes, now she is eagerly waiting for hers! She does wonderfully in her crate at night and during the day when her foster mom is at work. As she is not destructive, once she is settled into her forever home (generally 3 weeks to 3 months depending on the dog), she can be left out of her kennel. As with so many dogs, she is naturally nervous in new situations, and thus needs continued work on building confidence. She thrives with clear direction from her person and positive feedback when she does the right thing – she tries her very best to follow all the rules! She has the cutest tippy-tap dance when excited, waiting for a treat, or when she’s working on a skill. While there are no children in her current foster home, she loves everyone and would likely do well with children 10+ as she appreciates her space being respected and a calm household would help her adjust faster.Marjorie loves nothing more than to keep busy managing squirrels and lizards in the yard. This is her main energy outlet currently, so a backyard would be ideal. She needs at least a 6-foot tall fence when off leash because this girl is athletic… anyone want an agility dog? She might be it! She exhibits prey drive tendencies so cats, small dogs or other small animals are not a good fit. She takes breaks to sunbathe and would be content to do this nonstop, but she listens well when it’s time to come inside.Marjorie is threshold trained and is working on leash skills for walks using a prong collar and cues/guidance to walk alongside her human. She gets excited at the sight of other creatures but will sit on command until her person is ready to go. When it’s time to rest, she is very respectful of furniture but if she is invited up, she will be more than happy to cuddle.Marjorie is very quiet unless she is barking at a squirrel or playing with her foster brother, who she has become quite close to (a boxer/pit bull mix). She is somewhat dog selective and has some resource guarding tendencies surrounding speci

Meet Mika! This fun-loving 7 year old Australian Cattle Dog mix is the perfect blend of playfulness and companionship. Mika adores kids and thrives on meeting new people—especially if they’re up for a game of fetch! Whether it’s a long walk, a romp outdoors, or chasing after her favorite toy, Mika’s happiest when she’s on the move. She’s a fetch enthusiast and also enjoys a good game of hide-and-seek with her ball. Smart and eager to please, Mika already knows commands like “sit” and “speak” (especially when treats or toys are involved!). She’s both kennel and house trained, making her an easy fit for a loving home.Mika isn’t a fan of cats but would do well with calm, larger dogs—or she’d be just as content as your one-and-only pet. If you’re looking for an energetic, loyal companion to share adventures with, Mika is ready to meet you!To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
I’m seeking a new home for my 6 yr old Australian Cattle Dog (Heeler) where he can get the active, structured lifestyle he needs. He’s high-energy, intelligent, and very affectionate, and does best when he has plenty of exercise and a job to do. He’s friendly with people and generally does well with other dogs, but he needs an experienced owner to help manage some territorial behavior and occasional dog reactivity. He can jump a standard fence and has challenged neighbor dogs, so a secure, high fence and attentive supervision are essential. He would thrive with: • Daily physical and mental stimulation (runs, hikes, training, agility) • A secure, high fence • A patient, experienced owner committed to ongoing training • A rural or very active home (not ideal for apartments or typical suburban settings) This is a difficult decision, but I want what’s best for him. In the right environment, he’s an incredible dog. If you think you may be a good fit, please reach out. Thank you

Story
🌸 Meet Annie — Your High-Energy, Big-Hearted Bestie 🌸 Annie is the sweetest burst of energy you’ll ever bring home. She’s a young dog with true puppy energy and a huge love for her people. Annie thrives on attention, closeness, and being part of whatever you’re doing — she’s a certified velcro girl in the best way. She loves to play and has a big, enthusiastic play style, which is why she’ll do best in a home with kids 7+ or adults who enjoy an active, lively companion. Walks, backyard ball throwing, and general adventuring are right up her alley. When the day winds down, Annie flips the switch into cuddle mode and happily sleeps on the bed with her person. Important placement notes: 🏡 Annie needs to be an only pet — she is not comfortable living with other dogs or cats long-term. While she has played well with a foster sibling, we are not comfortable placing her in a home with existing pets. 🦴 Annie is also a chewer and will happily destroy unattended items like shoes, kids’ plush toys, and holiday décor. Puppy-proofing and appropriate chew outlets will be important for her success. Her previous family made the heartbreaking decision to rehome her when their senior, 12-year-old dog could no longer share space comfortably, and a few scuffles occurred. Annie has shown she does best when her environment is structured, enriched, and centered around her. ✨ Potty trained ✨ Crate trained ✨ Doggie-door savvy ✨ Loyal, playful, affectionate Annie has so much joy and love to give and will absolutely flourish in a home that matches her energy and sets her up for success. If you’re looking for a devoted, fun-loving companion who wants to be your shadow, your hype girl, and your cuddle buddy — Annie might be your perfect match. 💛🐾
