Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Jamison aka Jamie is an almost 6-year-old, 65lb. female border collie/border collie mix whose person passed away. This sweet girl is good with all dogs large and small; she previously lived with a cat and does great with kids. Current kids in her foster home are ages 4, 7, 10 and 14.  She is house trained and crate trained, walks well on a leash, sleeps through the night in her open crate, and rides well in a car. She knows basic commands of sit, stay and paw. This medium-energy girl loves to be outside with you, and we are requiring a fenced yard for her. She absolutely loves dog toys. Her favorites are soccer balls and footballs. She loves playing fetch, and she will bring the ball back to you as you can see in her video. Even though she is good with kids, herding breed dogs such as Jamie may want to herd small children, so small toddlers would probably not be best for her. She also is a very intelligent breed, and will need someone who can provide the time for daily mental stimulation activities such as advanced treat puzzles, shell games with cups, DIY indoor scent searches, muffin tin and tennis ball games, and targeted trick-training sessions. This is not a breed that can be left to just lie around while you work or be left home alone. She will need someone who is home more often than not. She will also need regular brushing and grooming.  She does need to be fed separately because she tends to get growly when another dog approaches while she is eating. She has no issues with another dog when treats are doled out. She is fearful during storms, fireworks and some other loud noises and will retreat to her crate or find a safe hiding spot. Jamie is an amazing dog - she is very loving and has a great personality. Whoever adopts her will be a very lucky family. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Jamison, please complete an app and tell us more about your family.  September 11, 2026, 12:03 am

Story
I adopted Didi in Nashville, TN in Nov 2020. She had been at the shelter since Jan. She came in pregnant. Her entire litter was adopted - but she was not. She is skiddish and refused to be in a crate. She would self harm to get out. We moved to Florida in Dec 2021 and she adjusted ok. She has anxiety about being alone and thunder. She has been to training to help with being in a crate and to assist with her anxiety of being alone while I'm at work. My work schedule has only increased and me working from home is not an option. She needs someone who will be home or with another dog. I can not get another dog. She is completely house trained, walks on leash (no pulling), and listens on basic commands. She is not motivated by food or toys - only by not being alone. It's not fair to her due to my work schedule.

Story
Gemini Zod is a charismatic Aussie mix with a unique blend of charm and energy. This adorable pup came to us initially shy and scared, but it took just a couple of days for him to reveal the true star within. Gemini Zod has transformed into an outgoing and charismatic companion. His big personality shines through, bringing joy and laughter to those around him. Gemini Zod enjoys an extremely active lifestyle. His love for walking, chasing after a ball, and indulging in some bone-chewing sessions is truly delightful to witness. But the real show-stopper is when he decides it's time for zoomies – his playful sprints and twists are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. Gemini Zod is seeking a home that appreciates his lively spirit and is ready to provide the love and engagement he craves.  HE IS EXTREMELY PEOPLE SELECTIVE AND MUST GO TO A VERY EXPERIENCED ADOPTER. PLEASE NOTE: All your current pets must be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention to adopt from Polka Dogz. We only adopt in Florida. All adoption fees go to help all the dogs in the rescue, some of which require extensive medical care. Thank you for caring for the greater good. Adoption fee is $450 and you can adopt me at WWW.POLKADOGZ.ORG ##2048458##

Story
Cleo is a sweet family dog who was born and raised with other dogs and children. At the beginning of the year we relocated due to work and our hours have become long and unpredictable. Because of this we have seen a change in Cleo; her anxiety and skin allergies have become worse, and our apartment complex has warned us about her barking. We wish more than anything we could keep her, but we love Cleo and we just want what’s best for her and to find a home where she can thrive!Cleo is:• House trained, spayed, and microchipped• Good with children and other dogs• A purebred Australian Shepherd• Looking for a home with a yard and people who can play with herShe needs a home where she has people who can play with her, take her to the park, and give her tons of scratches. She will thrive in a home with children, preferably with a family who has or has had an Aussie and understands the breed. She will be your best friend!💰 Rehoming fee: $150
