Story
Ellie is curious and a bit of a busybody. She likes to keep tabs on what’s going on around her. She benefits from a lot of activity and would do best in a home ready to give her plenty of daily exercise and mental enrichment. She walks really well on leash (especially for being new to it) and genuinely enjoys her walks. She is a bit cautious of loud cars, but she doesn't actively run away from them. She’s a big fan of enrichment toys, bones, and moving her water bowl around for some reason. Ellie has shown no major reactivity toward other dogs so far. She would benefit from continued exposure, socialization, and desensitization to help her feel confident around new dogs, cats, and people, though. She hasn’t shown any people-directed barking yet, but she can be a bit reactive to unexpected nighttime noises, like trash cans rolling or car doors closing, especially when she can’t see where the sound is coming from.

This sweet girl will make the best companion for ANYONE. She is so sweet and gentle and is 100% house and crate trained. She was surrendered to us with a litter of puppies she just had but has since been Spayed and fully vaccinated. She is a Border Collie/Black Lab Mix. She enjoys naps and hanging out. Her FAVORITE thing to do though is Truck/Car Rides, she jumps right up and requires no lifting. She does great with other dogs, cats, and kids!!

Dayna has been my loyal companion since October 2018. She is a medium-sized Border Collie raised indoors with four children and has always been a calm, loving part of the family. Dayna is happiest staying close to her people, quietly resting at your feet and following you from room to room. She is intelligent, fully house trained, crate trained, and knows commands such as sit, roll over, give paw, go to her cage, outside, and car. She loves car rides and is an excellent travel companion. Bath time is easy for her—she even enjoys showers. Dayna has lived well with a kitten and two other dogs. Outdoors she may chase squirrels or bunnies, but indoors she is calm and well behaved. She rarely barks, only alerting when someone unfamiliar enters the home. Thunderstorms make her anxious, and she benefits from reassurance. Due to personal circumstances, I am seeking a loving, stable home where Dayna can continue being the devoted indoor companion she has always been.

I will only consider rehoming to a new owner that owns a minimum of 0.5 acres fenced and another animal. I am only rehoming because I can not give Scout the outside time he needs.

She now uses a wheelchair to zoom around—and trust us, she can keep up with the best of them! Her resilience is nothing short of inspiring. Every day she shows just how strong, joyful, and loving a dog can be. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will fill your life with love, laughter, and a reminder of what true courage looks like, she’s your girl. PLEASE NOTE: All your current pets must be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention to adopt from Polka Dogz. We only adopt in Florida.
