Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Ziggy is a handsome Border Collie who is about a year old and weighs 27.18 pounds. This sweet and sensitive boy is still learning about the world and is looking for a patient, experienced home to help him grow into his full potential. Ziggy can be nervous around new people and unfamiliar surroundings, so he’ll need an understanding adopter who will give him time to build confidence at his own pace. Despite his timid side, he is incredibly sweet and eager to connect once he feels safe. He absolutely loves to play and has a naturally curious personality, always interested in what’s going on around him. Like many Border Collies, Ziggy is super smart and will thrive with positive reinforcement, structure, and continued training. He is housetrained. Ziggy would greatly benefit from having another confident, friendly dog in the home to help guide him and boost his confidence. A securely fenced yard is required so he can safely explore and burn off energy. He is still learning how to walk on a leash and navigate new experiences, so continued patience and training will be key to his success.
