Shayla is a sweet, resilient girl who recently came to Braveheart Bulliez Rescue after being saved from the urgent list at a local shelter. Through no fault of her own, Shayla lost her home when her former owner became unhoused. Her owner loved her deeply and wanted a better life for her, and that is exactly what we are hoping to give her. We are still getting to know Shayla, but so far she has been incredibly sweet, gentle, and easy to love. Her former owner shared that Shayla is very smart and served as her emotional support dog, which tells us just how special this girl is. She clearly has a soft heart and a lot of love to give. Shayla has also been nonreactive around other dogs so far, and we will continue learning more about her personality, play style, and ideal forever home as she settles in.     Meet Sugar Plum: All Around Great Dog!  This is Sugar Plum! Her smile is genuine, and this happy girl is always smiling!    Sugar Plum is approximately 1.5 years old and is a perfect size at roughly 45 pounds. She is potty trained, crate trained, and knows many basic commands including “sit”, “down”, and “stay”.  You would never know by her friendly outgoing and happy demeanor that Sugar Plum had a rough start in life.  As a puppy she was hit by a car, left untreated and eventually had one leg amputated. Sugar Plum bounced back beautifully, and her disposition is still sweeter and happier than just about any dog you’ll ever meet.  Because of the amputation Sugar Plum is a tripod, but don’t let that dampen your enthusiasm because it doesn’t slow her down one bit!  She doesn’t notice it, and neither will you when you meet her. She is a wonderful role model for people to see! Sugar Plum would fit right in with an active lifestyle and someone that will appreciate her fun spirit and loving companionship. She does great with people, kids and other dogs, but we do think her youthful puppy energy might be a bit much for smaller children.
