Rizzo’s Compatibility:Dogs - Bring yours by and we’ll see if they click!Cats - YesKids - Yes, 8+Rizzo is a handsome cattledog mix who is housebroken, crate trained, and knows all the important stuff like sit, lie down, give paw, and how to gaze lovingly into your soul. He’s a social eater (he likes to dine near his people like the little gentleman he is) and an expert napper who takes his sunbathing schedule very seriously. Rizzo`s foster mom states that he enjoys running with her, and they`ve even started doing Couch to 5k together!Rizzo has been an excellent office buddy here at HSHC and a devoted companion to the people who’ve taken the time to get to know him. He’s hoping for a calm and steady home where guests are few, and he can really settle in as someone’s best friend. He may not be the life of the party, but if you prefer quiet mornings, loyal company, and a dog who thinks the sun rises and sets with you... Rizzo is already halfway in love. Come meet him and see if the feeling’s mutual!

Story
Hey everyone! My name is hopscotch! I have a very very sad story. I was picked up at a local very overcrowded shelter with my foot missing on one of my back legs. The muscle in my leg had completely atrophied and my leg was very infected. My back leg had to be amputated. I weighed 31 pounds and every bone in my body could be seen even under my thick coat of fur. I was such a medical mess my rescue didn’t expect me to make it. I am on the road to recovery but because of how neglected I was, I have a few requirements in my forever home! I am fostered with dogs and a small child and I’m great with dogs of all sizes! I am not a fan of kitties so I would need a home with no kitties! I am great with my foster mom’s kid but she thinks my best home would be with older kids. I have perfect house manners and would not even need crated if I was in a home alone. I had a litter of puppies I was clearly still nursing when I was found as a stray in a ditch but my puppies were never found. It’s hard telling what happened to them :( I am ready to find my happily ever after! I will need a fenced yard and someone who understands that it might it take me a few days to get the hang of things but once I do I will love you with my entire heart and soul! I am obedient, I am so smart, I’ve been through two different board and trains to learn the perfect manners a girl should have, and I would give my life for the family I love. Adoption donation fee is $50 which it is tax-deductible and goes towards the care of homeless pets with Unchained Souls Canine Rescue. Story
Cruz, Age 1: Professionally trained. Emotionally dramatic. Spiritually feral. 🐾✨ This bobtailed shepherd mix is a certified goofball with a growing skillset and a flair for theatrics. Cruz is sweet, smart, and proudly lives every day like it’s his personal blooper reel. He recently wrapped up a two-week training camp (shoutout to the pros at Dog Training Elite 🙌), and now he’s got the moves: Sit, Down, Heel, Place, Off, Quiet, and Break. Crate training? Coming along. Potty training? Mostly nailed — unless he gets so deep into sniffing the yard that he forgets he was supposed to be pooping. Happens. 😂 On leash, he looks like he’s got it all together. Head up, tail wagging, ready to strut. Until… another dog appears. Especially one barking at him. Then it’s all, “Excuse me?? I will be responding.” He’s not aggressive — just overdramatic. And in his defense, he’s working really hard on keeping it together. With consistency and guidance, he’s getting better every week. At home, Cruz lives with two medium-sized foster sisters and absolutely loves them. He plays hard, naps harder, and genuinely believes he is the funniest one in the house. He’d do great with another playful dog who doesn’t mind a little chaos and can match (or tolerate) his energy. He’d love a fenced yard, a daily routine, and humans who don’t expect perfection but do appreciate perfectly timed side-eyes and overly enthusiastic greetings. Bonus points if you announce “Cruz, come here!” dramatically just to watch him sprint toward you with unearned confidence. 🏃‍♂️💨 Perks of adopting Cruz: 🐾 Two in-home training sessions to help you pick up where the pros left off 🐾 Lifetime access to group training classes at Dog Training Elite in Carmel 🐾 A live-in comedian who doubles as a cuddle monster when he’s done with zoomies Cruz is ready for his forever home — preferably one with snacks, structure, and someone who agrees that being “a little much” is actually a lifestyle. 😎
