You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- FRED IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR AN INDIVIDUAL ASKING TO REHOME THEIR PET.  PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW. Please contact:  Lara208-629-9768 hannonlara@gmail.com Energy level: Moderate — playful outside, calm indoors   1. Overview & Core TemperamentFred is a sensitive, sweet, emotionally intuitive herding-breed mix who forms deep, meaningful bonds with the people he trusts. Once he feels safe, he becomes affectionate, playful, gentle, has a quirky smile, connected, and eager to be near his person. He settles well in the home, often resting at your feet or choosing a comfortable nearby spot. He likes being close but is not clingy; he simply enjoys companionship from a place of safety.Fred thrives with calm, predictable handling, gentle voices, and slow movements that give him space to build trust at his own pace. 2. Sensitivity & Emotional NeedsFred is highly sensitive and easily overwhelmed by unfamiliar people, sudden movement into hisspace, loud or chaotic environments, and unpredictability. He needs slow introductions, time to observe, soft tones, gentle body language, consistent routines, and a peaceful, stable environment. With these supports, he warms up beautifully and becomes affectionate, expressive, and securely attached. 3. Fear-Based BehaviorsFred has fear-based reactivity with new people, not true aggression. When overwhelmed, he maygrowl or snap if he feels cornered or pressured. With proper introductions and calm interactions, these behaviors reduce significantly or disappear. 4. Separation & Isolation AnxietyFred has separation and isolation anxiety. When left alone, he may pace, bark, whine, pantexcessively, drool excessively, become restless, or struggle to settle. Despite this distress, he has never been destructive and does not soil indoors. He needs gradual alone-time training, consistency, predictability, a low-stress environment, andpossibly a calm dog companion. 5. Behavior with Other DogsFred plays well with other dogs, adjusts his energy appropriately, relaxes around calm dogs, gainsconfidence from a steady canine companion, and checks in frequently with his person. On leash, he may show mild reactivity to other dogs on leash at close ranges but redirects well.Off leash he is appropriate, social, playful, and not aggressive.6. Outdoor Behavior & WalksFred is an excellent walking companion with good leash manners and strong impulse control. Hecalmly observes deer and responds immediately to cues.7. Indoor BehaviorIndoors, Fred is calm, quiet, and relaxed. He settles easily and is not clingy or demanding. He is aneasy, gentle house companion.8. Strengths• affectionate once bonded• gentle with treats• good with dogs• responsive to cues• house-trained• calm in the car• playful outdoors, mellow indoors• emotionally attuned• intelligent and sensitive• checks in often• settles beautifully after exercise9. ChallengesFred’s challenges include fear-based reactivity, separation anxiety, environmental sensitivity, and need for slow introductions.10. Ideal HomeFred thrives with someone experienced, patient, and consistent, who can support gradual alone-time training and provide a stable environment. 11. Why Fred Is Worth ItFred is loving, sensitive, intelligent, and deeply loyal when he feels safe. He shows immense heart and tries hard to do well. Please contact:  Lara208-629-9768 hannonlara@gmail.comVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 15, 2025, 10:23 pm

Story
This sweet girl was born and raised on our farm, she is one of 11 puppies and needs a loving home and an owner who can give this pup the time and job she deserves. This is an extremely smart and trainable dog. Would do great in a family or as sports dog, hiking companion of for agility. She does have a lot of energy and will need exercise but is very good in a crate in between activities. She is very sweet and people oriented, never had any issues with kids or other dogs. Best way to contact would be text message, email can get lost or overlooked, phone cals may be missed.

Story
Bailey is 6 years old and she is a border collie mixed with schipperke. She's a cute little dog with a tuxedo coat and about 30 lbs. I love her very very much and even though we have had some trying times together over the years we always found a way to get through it. Unfortunately, now it seems there has come a point where something has come up that I don't think we can work through, and so I am looking for a new home for her. Bailey is a good dog, she is very intelligent, loyal, cuddly and loving, and cheerful. She definitely has her peculiarities though, most notably is that she doesn't get along with other pets (cats/dogs). She prefers to be left alone by dogs, but will bully cats and other animals if they let her. As far as health is concerned she is healthy and has all her vaccines. She need regular exercise, I take her to a local park and she plays fetch off leash to get her energy out. Ideally looking for not 1st time dog owners with access to land for her to play.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fred is very smart, loving and loyal 4-year-old tricolor border collie mix who unfortunately needs a new home.  He was originally adopted by someone from a shelter in DC.  They were not experienced with the breed and gave him to another family who love him dearly but do not have the time or resources to provide him the attention, exercise and training that he needs and deserves.  After all this change, he is still a very loving dog.  He takes treats gently, he is good on a leash, settles well after outings, and will chill in the house with his person(s). Fred enjoys other dogs; he is playful with all types and sizes. He does well at daycare and at the dog park. His current family loves him very much but are hoping to find an experienced, patient, consistent and loving family or person who understand and have experience with the highly intelligent and active border collie breed.   He is a sensitive dog and needs time to adjust and trust. A quiet/peaceful yet active home environment would be great. He loves sniffy walks and post-walk zoomies, followed by chilling out near his person(s). He is very sweet once comfortable but suffers from separation anxiety and has some fear anxiety with new people, but once he know his person he is very gentle. One of his previous owners worked with a trainer with good success on the separation anxiety and occasional aggression when his boundaries were not honored by a new person, which shows that Fred is willing and able to learn what he needs to in order to be a great canine citizen.  He already knows SIT, LEAVE IT and LETS GO. A family or person who have the time and environment to work with Fred and give him a happy and fulfilling life will be rewarded with a devoted and loving special companion. A trainer reference is available. PLEASE NOTE : THE DOG LISTED IS SHOWN AS A COURTESY TO ANOTHER ORGANIZATION OR FOR AN INDIVIDUAL WHO NEEDS TO FIND A NEW HOME FOR THEIR DOG.
