Ruby is a bright, sparkling gem ready to be adopted! She is a unique black labrador/border collie mix, with high energy and a goofball personality, with a white stripe down her snout! She has a heart of gold with whipped cream on top :) Ruby was found with her friend Lucy, they were both left out in the country, luckily by a rescuer's home. She fed and worked with them for a couple of weeks before they were able to get into the rescue and the rest is a BIG FUTURE!! Ruby LOVES to play tug of war with her friends all the time and I really would be best with another calm and confident dog to help keep her busy and tired. Oreo Cookies are da BEST cookies ever! And i are one of them :D So you now know all about me ;) Except the creamy center, which may explain why i am in a rescue looking for a furever home.. It isn't my fault ;( I mean, picture this..... there i was, minding my own business... and my mom and dad sit me down to tell me that they are getting a divorce :( And my mom, brother and I will be homeless soon :( :( what do you do??? I was lucky enough to find a rescue that was able to help me be safe and loved. (my mom and brother found a safe place too) Oreo is a sweet senior whose tail never stops wagging. Unfortunately, Oreo doesn't see well so until she's familiar with a space she bumps into things but never gives up. She likes being outside & exploring a new place & will follow a voice around an open space. Oreo is a very gentle, calm girl who'll be a perfect addition to any home. 💕 Meet Wanda! Wanda is approximately 11 months old, the smallest of her litter, and quite possibly one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. 💕🐾 We believe she is considered full grown at a whopping 26 lbs!! She will not get any bigger, unless you feed her too many treats, which she will definitely enjoy. Wanda and her siblings Black Widow, Peggy, Hulk, Nebula, and Thor were found at a construction site in South Texas along the Mexico border, along with multiple other dogs. They were hungry, tired, and looked completely defeated. Thankfully, the six puppies and several of the other dogs were rescued and brought to a safe sanctuary, where they have been thriving since March 2026. Wanda was the runt of the litter, but don't let her tiny size fool you — she's got plenty of personality packed into that little body! 💕 The Sweetest Little Runt Wanda is VERY submissive and incredibly gentle. She is the kind of dog who wants everyone to be her friend and absolutely does not want conflict. Because of her submissive nature, she can unfortunately get bullied by more assertive dogs. She doesn't defend herself or stand up for herself, which means any dogs in her future home must be kind, gentle, and respectful of her boundaries. Her foster has even given her little pep talks about standing up for herself. 😂 But honestly, Wanda is so sweet that being bossy just doesn't seem to be in her nature! She loves everyone she meets and has a gentle, affectionate personality that makes her incredibly endearing. 🐾 Wanda's Personality Wanda is: 💕 Extremely sweet and affectionate 🥰 Very gentle and submissive 👧 Wonderful with children ❤️ Loves all humans 🐕 Social with other dogs, provided they are kind and gentle 🐱 Does well with cats with proper introductions 🦴 Very food motivated 🥰 Loves pets and belly rubs 🧸 Loves toys 💦 Likes water — although she would prefer that you don't get her wet! 🏠 Crate trained 👀 Curious and eager to learn 😌 One of the calmer puppies in the litter 😂 A little bit mischievous when it comes to destroying her toys Wanda loves her toys, but unfortunately for the toys, she doesn't believe in preserving them for very long. She tends to rip them apart into tiny pieces. So her future home may want to invest in some seriously durable toys! 🍽️ She Has Something to Say About Dinner Wanda is also quite good at communicating with her foster. When her food bowl is empty, she will sometimes push her bowl toward her foster as if to say: "Excuse me. I believe there has been an oversight. My bowl is EMPTY." 😂 She's food motivated, so this clever little girl definitely knows how to get her point across! 🧠 Smart… But Easily Distracted Wanda is curious and genuinely tries to learn. She likes to pay attention and figure things out, but she also has a short puppy attention span. With all the activity and other dogs around, it's understandably difficult for her to concentrate for very long. She would likely do best with someone who can give her patient, positive training in a calm environment. She may start out paying attention… …and then suddenly remember that playing is much more interesting. 😂 💦 Water Girl — On Her Terms Wanda likes water, but there's an important distinction: She likes water. She just doesn't necessarily like YOU getting her wet. 😂 She's perfectly happy enjoying water on her own terms, thank you very much! 🏡 Wanda's Ideal Home Because Wanda is so submissive, her ideal home is one where she will feel safe, protected, and respected. She could live with other dogs, but they need to be gentle and socially appropriate. A dog who constantly overwhelms, chases, or bullies her would not be a good match. She could also absolutely thrive as an only dog, where she can soak up all the attention and affection herself. A family with children could be a wonderful fit, provided the children understand how to be gentle and respectful with a small, sensitive dog. If you`re looking for a sweet older gentleman with impeccable manners, a love of snackos, and killer puppy face, look no further than Gumbo!He may be 12 years old, but he`s got plenty of pep and lots of love to give. He enjoys a leisurely stroll to take in all the new smells, and if you stop by some grass he`ll entertain you with a couple rolls and leg kicks (which is Gumbo for `please rub my belly!`). He has received a thorough vetting with AARF and he is as healthy as can be! Since he has had skin issues, we are recommending a neutral protein diet - fish, lamb, or turkey - but he`s not picky, he loves all food! The only med he`ll need to take in his forever home are once a day joint supplements, which he takes like a champ with peanut butter. He loooves peanut butter!He is being fostered in a home with cats who enjoy snuggling with him on the couch, and stealing his food. Gumbo couldn`t care less! He`s met dogs of varying energy levels and responds with the same low-key tail wags and sniffs to each of them. He loves walking into a room of people and greeting each person one by one to test out their booty scritching skills, and seems particularly drawn to kids. Even though he`s an older pup, we think he`d be happy in a family or with another doggo, so he can choose to participate or nap on the couch - whichever mood he`s in. He loves a work from home person so that he can nap by your feet (ahem, monitor your work productivity). He is fully house trained and goes easily into his crate with a treat, but is also a very respectful boy who chooses naps over chaos when left alone.Gumbo also loves car rides! Like, loves car rides. He`s a perfect backseat passenger who loves to poke his snout out the window and feel the wind in his fur. We aren`t sure what his first 12 years were like, and at least the most recent years were tough on the poor guy, but he`s proven that he`s got a zest and love for the softer, sweeter life. Monty is a great name for a great dog like me ;) I have the Monty Python kind of humor... goofy and sweet! But, don't mess with my crate! That really is my only "pet: peeve!! I was found on the streets 2 years ago and was adopted as a pup... however, I became the boss in the house and didn't like anyone entering the house that I didn't know :( SO..... Back to the rescue, because they won't give up on me!! So here I am and I have really adjusted to the environment and new people meeting me and treats and lots of love. AND the crew here basically has determined that I need a family/adopters that will be in charge of the house. Someone I can trust to protect me so I don't have to!! I am vocal in my crate, so my crate needs to be away from the common areas so I can relax and not meet everyone that stops by. Once I settle into my new home I will follow your lead! I am a gorgeous boy, with caramel and milk chocolate highlights in my soft fur. I want to please my family and go on all kinds of adventures!
