Doug is a 4-year-old Terrier–Collie mix who’s been a deeply loved family dog for 3 years. Affectionate, smart, and well-trained he knows basic commands, loves to run, hike and adores snuggling. He’s thrived with two teen boys and a cat, is playful and enjoys games of chase, and would do well on a farm or in a multi-pet home. True to his Collie side, Doug has herding instincts and is true to his pack family (humans too) will monitor your yard and chase deer or other unwanted visitors —he needs a secure yard with a 4'+ fence, daily exercise (walks, hikes, runs), and company; he doesn’t do well alone. True to his terrier side, he is a bit anxious will greet you with reckless abandon like you’ve been gone for weeks, he is on daily anxiety and thyroid meds that must be continued to avoid mild seizures from hypothyroidism. Veterinary records will transfer. If you can provide an active, loving home, please welcome Doug into your home. Our hearts are broken but we trust he’ll find his place.

"She ran calling "WILD.....FIRE"!! That is a haunting song.... I promise, though..I am not a HAUNTER!! But I may love to run around and around and AROUND :) I am a puppy! I am so sweet and cuddly, when i finish running around ;) I have plenty of energy so you HAVE to be ready to burn it off with mental and physical exercise. I am SMART too! Teach me who you want me to be and I will learn! I was found with 4 siblings living (dumped) at the Home Depot...but it was a LUCKY BREAK, cause we were seen by the husband of a rescuer and we got SAVED! Now I am in my foster home and learning the "ropes" ;) Potty training is getting better every day, I mean our foster mom takes us out often for potty control and I am really working hard to wait for the next jaunt outside! I also am crate training too! I don't like to pee or poop where I sleep- as long as I don't eat right before bed and go outside as soon as I wake up I am doing great!! I seriously am ready for my family, I LOVE to play and am great with all dogs big, small, old or babies. AND i have one half BLUE EYE!! The better to see you with, my new family! :) ADOPT ME SOON!! Now, before we go any further into my story.... let me warn you...it contains heartache and then some puppies, and fear and even some hopelessness. We do go to the top of the mountain as well, so hold in for the wild ride of my life:) maybe you will get to be my happily ever after.... So I was born a poor border collie mixed pup, in the miserable heat, in a disgusting backyard. To a mama that could have been so beautiful, if she had been brushed and cared for.... Fast forward thru almost 4 YEARS of misery and puppies, we were saved!!! I was saved with 9 newborn puppies and my sister/daughter/ cousin, etccc Princess and HER 9 PUPPIES TOO! We landed safe and sound at the rescue! We are now gorgeous girls and all pups grown and adopted! Now its time for me!! I am a single gal, and really don't like other dogs in my business.
