Story
Bayne is 10 years old and has mellowed in his years but he does not tolerate small children or puppies. He is really smart and protective of the people he loves. He gets really excited to see friends and family and is a natural herd dog. He enjoys the outdoors - especially hikes in the woods and swimming. Bayne’s medium length hair is soft and great for petting - he will present his butt to be pet the most! We rescued him as a puppy from a puppy mill and love him dearly but our new environment with a one year old is too stressful for all parties. We hope to find a home where he can be happy and the center of attention again.

Story
Sydney, a delightful 1 year old boy weighing 38 pounds, exudes pure affection! He's incredibly sweet, adores playing fetch, and gets along SO well with other dogs and kids. He doesn’t pay any mind to the cats in his foster home, he coexists with them so peacefully. He will occasionally howl outside in the yard like a Beagle would do! He loves to get the zoomies in the yard! Sydney loves attention and cuddling, he’ll chill in his crate willingly, he likes being active, and sweet as can be. Knows "sit" when he can focus, knows "crate" to go into the crate, and heels (doesn’t tug, walks well on leash). He walks on his back two legs sometimes, so funny! He also didn’t mind when fireworks were going off on New Year’s Eve! He'd thrive with a family with kids and another dog or someone who's active and outdoorsy! Despite being dumped at a Texas vet clinic where the vet was going to euthanize him for not having a place for him to go, he's now in a temporary foster home, eagerly awaiting a foster or forever home up outside of Texas. DISCLAIMER- Breed type is determined based on general appearance and behavioral characteristics and cannot be guaranteed unless DNA test results or AKC registration were provided at intake. ***MOST OF OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN TEXAS, BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Read below for more information. Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Pep's Pals Rescue direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc).  Our adoption fee for Sydney is $400 plus health certificate and transport (varies by location). This fee includes all current vaccinations, deworming, microchip (additional $12.99 registration fee required at time of adoption), fecal analysis, spay/neuter for dogs 6 months & older, and a heartworm test if over 6 months old. All dogs are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a health certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days of transport. If you are interested in adopting this dog,  please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/generic.You can learn about the adoption process by visiting: http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.Dog's Name:   Luna  (LUN1123OWSFS)Estimated Breed:  Border Collie / Labrador Retriever MIX  Approximate Age:   6-7 yearsApproximate Weight:   45 lbsCurrently Living at:   FosterAdoption Fee:   $400DOG'S DESCRIPTION:  Luna is a gorgeous “borador” mix (Border Collie/Labrador Retriever) who is unfortunately being owner surrendered because they don't have the time to give her enough exercise and attention that she needs. Unfortunately, Luna bonds strongly with people and is not a fan of most dogs. Though with proper introduction, she has played with other dogs. Her ideal home would be with a person or family familiar with this high energy breed mix, who can focus enough time on training and exercise. A fenced yard is a must, and NO city living. Border collies are a working breed, highly intelligent and need stimulation and direction.Luna is outgoing, curious, energetic and she would make an excellent companion for an active adopter. She loves playing fetch and going on long walks. A forever home with plenty of room to run would be ideal for this girl on the go. She is smart and well trained beyond the basic level. She knows the commands:  leave it, sit, down, stay, off, let go, go to your bed, out of the kitchen and kennel up. Luna is also house broken and kennel trained, although she has not used a kennel in some time. There are no issues when she has free roam of the house. She will alert bark when someone is outside or at the door, and she is good with kids, but she needs to control her excitement at times and may knock any little ones down. Luna loves her people and will sit or lay right next to you whenever you are and, if you allow her, she will rest her head on your lap for a good pet and belly rub. Luna is very treat focused.Luna is just a great, fun-loving lady who can’t wait for you to throw that ball! With her super friendly nature, she will make a perfect partner on all of your adventures!Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Story
Hello As we are expecting our first child this lovely bundle of energy is needing a home with space! Sad to have to be looking to rehome but genuinely think he needs more time outside than we are able to provide. He is amazing with cats a very curious kind soul. He loves eating his veggies! He is a cattle dog mix, meaning he is always on high alert and a great security system. His birthday is April 4th 2023 Hoping to find someone with yard space and love to take him in.
