Story
Meet Max, a 36 pound 10 month old mixed breed-maybe some border collie, active but not quite to border collie energy level. He is amazing...friendly and sweet, great with dogs, not so much cats. Good with kids. Housebroken and even doing well with crate training. Meet him soon, someone is going to snatch him up quickly. Neutered, microchipped and ready to move in. Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. Find our application on our website, almosthomedogs.org. Adoption Fee is $450. All of our dogs will be microchipped. We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging. Currently check or cash is preferred payment.

Story
I’m reaching out with a heartfelt request to help me find the right placement for a very special dog named Fred. I adopted Fred six weeks ago, and although we have formed a deep bond, it’s become clear that he needs a level of behavioral support and consistency that I cannot provide in my current living situation. Fred is a tricolor Border Collie mix, approximately 3–4 years old and around 50 pounds. He is sweet, sensitive, intelligent, and deeply affectionate once he feels safe. He plays wonderfully with other dogs and settles beautifully in a calm home environment. He is good on a leash and settles well at home. Fred does have some fear-based reactivity toward unfamiliar people and separation anxiety. However, it’s important to emphasize that Fred has shown meaningful improvements in these areas with the right training and handling. His former owner did foundational work with him, and since coming to me, he has continued to progress. He is truly a love and wants to please.

Story
Meet Mistletoe – The Three-Legged Wonder! Mistletoe is a one-year-old Border Collie mix with a heart as big as her spirit! This happy, playful girl doesn’t let having three legs slow her down—she loves to run, play, and horse around just like any other pup. With a low to medium energy level, she’d make a fantastic walking or jogging partner and is always up for a game of fetch. She’s treat-motivated, knows “sit,” walks beautifully on a leash, and takes treats like a lady. Mistletoe adores affection and attention, soaking up every pet and belly rub she can get. She’s a little bouncy when excited, but nothing over the top—just enough to show how happy she is! Mistletoe gets along well with bigger dogs and would thrive in a home with older kiddos who can keep up with her fun-loving nature. She loves being near her human. If you’re looking for a pup who will bring endless love, laughter, and adventure to your life, Mistletoe is ready to be your perfect match! ***CURRENTLY IN WASHINGTON STATE*** BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Read below for more information. Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Pep's Pals Rescue direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc.). Our adoption fee is $300 plus health certificate ($50) and transport ($200 for most locations). This adoption fee includes all current basic vaccinations, deworming, microchip (with lifetime registration), fecal analysis, spay, and a heartworm test. All dogs are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a health certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days of transport.
