ABOUT BABY GIRL Baby Girl is a happy-go-lucky 2-year-old Border Collie mix with a big personality and an even bigger love for life! This goofy girl came to HAP from a high-intake shelter in Louisiana when they ran out of space to care for her. Despite all the changes she's experienced, Baby Girl hasn't let anything dampen her spirits. She's full of energy, always ready for an adventure, and just happy to make new friends! Social as can be, Baby Girl loves people and other dogs alike! She's an affectionate, playful pup who enjoys running around the field, chasing tennis balls, and soaking up attention from her human friends. Sometimes her excitement gets the best of her, and she may jump up to greet you, but she's just eager to say hello! Baby Girl has also done well making canine friends during her time with us. She can come on a little strong when meeting other dogs, as her enthusiasm sometimes gets ahead of her manners, but she responds well when her friends let her know she needs to dial it back. With her outgoing personality and endless enthusiasm, Baby Girl is ready to bring plenty of love, laughter, and a little bit of silliness to her future family! We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permanent homes. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). How can you resist those sweet puppy eyes and cute face!!! ENZO FERRARI is an 8 month old Border Collie / Hound / Lab mix (1% Lab lol). He is a sweet and happy boy who grew up in the shelter when his mom and litter of 6 were dropped off in February. He is now in a foster home and has learned manners and commands very quickly and is always eager to please. Here is the latest update on Enzo: Enzo has been in his foster home for about 2 months and is now fully acclimated to life in a busy household. He is 100% potty trained and easily goes into his crate for naps and bedtime. Enzo has a very sweet nature and gets along with everyone he meets. He loves to meet and play with other dogs and his favorite thing is to snuggle with his foster family. Enzo likes to be right by your side and ready for any activity. Enzo is very good with basic commands like sit, stay, down, and come and he learns very quickly. He has good manners and does not beg for food or jump on the couch. He also knows to sit nicely prior to being fed and is not aggressive with his food. Enzo walks well on a leash and loves walks and hikes and is starting to go onshort runs. He will fetch a ball and bring it back most of the time (still work in progress). Enzo seems to have inherited Labrador qualities and enjoys cooling off in the water and already knows how to swim! Enzo is also great in the car. He jumps in the backseat sits patiently until he is told it is time to get out. Enzo would love to be part of an active family and has lots of love to give, he is truly a sweet natured dog and will be a wonderful companion! We do ask that Adopters of puppies under 12 months of age attend a basic obedience class with them. We find that this results in a more confident, settled pup and reduces returns down the road. We can recommend a group class with a positive reinforcement trainer. Enzo has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and is on heartworm/flee/tick prevention. Adoption $350.
