Story
This girl ended in the shelter due to her owner being arrested and not being able to find her a home. Gracie is a great dog who has fit into her foster home quite well. She is learning about cats and being on a leash. She is housebroken with a dog door but was also house trained without one. She is a bit of energy so will need an active family to keep up! She is friendly and has gotten a long with other dogs of various sizes really well. She loves to play and is pure fun! She is located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.

Story
Mork and Mindy were found by a dumpster at an apartment complex looking lost and bewildered. So, we decided to take them to the clinic to get them all checked out and cleaned up to see if we could find them a loving home. Mork has been fully vetted, up to date on all shots, neutered and microchipped. So, he is all ready to go to his new forever home. Won't you send in an inquiry about him to see if you are a good match? We are pretty sure that Mork and Mindy are simply looking for a family they can live with and show all of their attention and love to. They were so sad when we found them but have warmed up to our staff and are extremely loving. They are very playful and just love all of the attention.

Story
Local Surrender Southampton Pa PA KL 5254 Brodie and Jojo are the seniorpairyou just can't help but love. These two have been through a tough time due to their owner suddenly passing away. Brodie is a 9 year old Border Collie that is 65lbs and Jojo is a 12 year old mutt who is 47lbs. They both are extremely affectionate and just want to be loved. Walks are new to them, but they are both amazing on leash and not reactive at all. Brodie is very timid when it comes to loud noises and new people, but he is warming up wonderfully. As long as you are patient with him I promise he will make you his new best friend. Jojo loves to be outside and sunbathe. When she is inside she loves a good nap on her blanket. If you would love two seniors who will steal your heart you have come to the right place! Brodie and Jojo happily went with their Dad to their favorite boarding place. They had been here before and liked the staff. Dad gave them both hugs and said goodbye and he would see them in a week. Sadly for this Senior bonded pair, Dad passed away while on his vacation and was unable to come back to get them. Brodie is a 9 year old border collie and JoJo is a 12 year old happy mutt. If you are looking for a couple of easy going companions and want to give a home to a sweet duo of senior dogs, these guys might just be your new BFF's. Wags will not consider separating them so don't ask. Jojo likes to sleep most of the time but is super affectionate and loving. Brodie takes a little time to warm up but you can speed this up by tossing a toy. They do bark at new people for a bit but this lessens as they become more comfortable with their new people. Story
My name is Birdie and I am looking for a forever home.   I was found roaming by myself by a nice lady who, after she couldn't find my owner and couldn't keep me, reached out to a small local rescue as she didn't want to take me to the pound.  A volunteer with that rescue contacted BCAA to see if they could help and they said yes!  I appear to be possibly a border collie/lab mix, and at a little over 22lbs at 2years old I am not expected to get any bigger.  I got my name from the lady who found me as she saw I was eating bird seed as I was so hungry.  I'm a little shy when first meeting new people but it doesn't take me long to learn that you're not going to hurt me and then I love getting attention (treats help).  I have gotten along with the other dogs I've met and enjoy playing; I've also not bothered those things called cats.  I've done pretty good in my crate without any accidents or messing up my bedding, but I prefer to be out with you and may let you know not to forget about me if I see or hear you.  I probably have never had a leash in before coming into foster as I'm kind of scared of being on one (I am learning from my foster mom that maybe it's not a bad thing) but I think I'd like to have a fenced yard where i can run around playing and take care of my business.   If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org. Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption fee helps to cover our expenses and includes all shots, *age appropriate*, distemper and rabies, fecal check, spay/neuter, heartworm test, grooming, and in many cases dental and also the fee we pay when we rescue from a shelter. Story
Hi!  My name is Kenny and I am looking for a forever home.  I was picked up as a stray and taken to a really scary place called a shelter where, after no one came to claim me and my stray hold was up, I was put on something bad called "the list".  Fortunately for me, a nice lady from a small rescue got me out just in the nick of time and then contacted BCAA to see if they could help me and they said yes ... yeah!  No one really knows what breed mix I am, maybe border collie (I'm really quick and agile!), but it's anyone's guess.  I'm about 3years old and weigh just a little over 25lbs so a great size (not too small but not too large).  I have gotten along with most of the dogs I have met but I definitely seem to prefer the females.  I've shown some interest in the cats but have not been aggressive with them; a home without cats might be best.  I love my food and am very treat motivated which I take gently.  My foster dad has been working with me with treats, says I'm super smart, and I learned sit and down really quick .  I have done really well in my crate without any accidents, barking or tearing up of any of my bedding although I would really prefer to be out and about.  I am good on leash and love going for adventures (I may pull some in the beginning in my excitement on being out) and I would love to have a fenced yard that I can run around and explore.  I love getting attention from people and would also love being part of an active family as I'm not much of a couch potato (unless you have treats!).  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! They love to play with toys, they're good on a leash, and they're extremely friendly and social! Which pups are these, you might wonder! Mika, Ren, Karate, Hinata, and Hikaru, of course! This litter is a delightful group of Border Collie/Hound mixes. Four months old right now, they weigh about 23 pounds and will each mature to between 40 and 45 pounds. Maybe the best part of having these babies around is that they're wonderful to watch as they tumble around the play yard together or with their other canine friends. That's what puppies are all about, isn't it? (posted 4/19/25, ME) Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $160.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. **April 19, 2025, 1:53 pm

Story
Meet Absolute Joy! This energetic, 1-year-old German Shepherd mix is the definition of pure happiness. With her sweet personality and big bark, she’s a softy at heart who just wants to be your best friend. Absolute Joy is always thrilled to see you, and though she's working on her manners (she might jump for joy when she greets you!), it’s just because she can’t contain her excitement! Absolute Joy is an enthusiastic chewer who loves her chew toys, especially when they come with tasty treats. Cod sticks, yak chews, and bully sticks are some of her favorites! She’s also crazy about her snuffle mat – meal times are even more exciting when she gets to enjoy her food while working for it. Absolute Joy has a playful side, and although she’s not into fetch, she’s always ready to run around and have a blast outside. She’s a natural adventurer and would be the perfect hiking companion. Nature is her happy place, and she’s always up for exploring new trails with you. And if you’ve got a box around, watch out – Absolute Joy hasn’t met one she can’t tear apart! For her, peanut butter-filled Kongs are the ultimate treat, making her heart full of joy. If you're looking for a spirited, loving, and fun puppy to bring into your home, Absolute Joy is ready to fill your life with happiness and adventure! Apply to adopt her on our website at https://www.familiarhearts.org/adoption-process

We found Acorn while walking our other dog by Temple area and she happily ran up trying to make friends. She ended up following us home and after looking for her owner for a month we found nothing. She is a very young and energetic dog who loves long walks and being around people as much as possible and while she is sweet she is very high energy and appreciates a living in a single dog household.

Story
Apollo is a ~16 month old Australian Cattle Dog mix. We adopted him from Philly ACCT last September. He was 25 lbs then, and they said he was close to full-grown, just under nourished. Today, Apollo is 55 lbs and we just don’t have the facilities to manage him in our center city home. But maybe you do? Apollo is a great dog, high energy, super intelligent and very loyal. He knows his basic commands, a few advanced ones, is house broken, crate-trained, vaccinated and microchipped. He loves to show off leaping to catch a disk, play tug-o-war and learning new tricks (as long as he gets his treats;) Apollo’s come a long way since being rescued but still shows some aggressive behavior, especially around strangers and food. We mostly keep him to his area when we have company and feed him in his crate. Apollo is also sensitive to loud noises and might appreciate being outside center city. If you’re looking for a very handsome loyal and winning cattle dog mix, Apollo is your dog.
