Story
This friend has just arrived to us on transport from a high-intake shelter partner! When our friends are new to us, we are often unsure of their full background. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and update their bio with more information as we learn. They are pending interactions with animals until they have been cleared by our vet. Please note that we often are unsure of house, crate, car, and leash training status upon arrival. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Story
Koohunei (Koo-who-neah) is my best friend. I adopted him in April 2022 when he was about 8 weeks old. He just turned 4 this January. His name in my language means “happiness,” and that’s exactly what he brings. He’s incredibly affectionate—he loves holding your hand, being pet, and staying close. He’s playful, snuggly, and always so excited to see you come home. This is not an easy decision for me. Due to personal and health-related circumstances, I’m no longer able to give him the level of care and stability he deserves. I love him deeply, and this choice is coming from a place of wanting better for him. I’m looking for someone patient and kind who is willing to learn his personality and give him a loving, stable home. If possible, I would really appreciate staying in touch or receiving updates, as he means so much to me. Thank you 🤎

Story
Please call Alyssa at 302-332-6761 if interested. Mila is a great dog. She knows soms basic commands but we both are going through changes with work (unexpectedly) and we're not sure if we're going to be able to keep up with her needs like we had initially thought. We are worried that we won't get enough time to love and care for her and we are devastated.May 22, 2026, 7:07 pm

BENTLEY is one of Maserati’s six puppies. MAZI is a sweet girl, a good mama and loves everybody, even strangers! We’re hoping the puppies take on her personality. Dad was a traveling salesman – most likely of the hound of variety. Attaching a copy of the DNA results to this listing. The highest percentage of their heritage is of the herding breeds so we’re looking for active, dog oriented homes. Bentley is very friendly and often the first one to greet us in the morning! Adoption fee of $350 will cover a eventual spay/Neuter when they are old enough. Vets are now recommending after the first heat for girls snd after the growth plates close for the boys - This helps prevent some health problems as they mature. The puppies have received their deworming and will have their first vaccine And are totally weaned from mom. They turned eight weeks old on Easter day and are available now. We do ask that Adopters of puppies under 12 months of age attend a basic obedience class with them. We find that this results in a more confident, settled pup and reduces returns down the road. We can recommend a group class with a positive reinforcement trainer. If you feel like your family is up to puppyhood, please fill out an application at www.companimals.org. May 17, 2026, 7:20 am

Story
Please contact Marilyn at 856-275-6905 for more information about this pet.  This dog is located in Newark, DE. Visit us on the web at https://fur-everpaws.com/fur-ever-paws-adoption-application/ to submit an application. Please contact the foster directly at 856-275-6905 (call or text) or via email at Fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com Fur Ever Paws Dog Rescue is a small no kill rescue operating in the Delaware/Maryland area. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permanent homes. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here, you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email. Adoption fees vary based on breed. All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed). We provide a spay or neuter voucher to all of our adopters. May 22, 2026, 7:07 pm
