Story
Sometimes, a single brave decision can change a life forever. Meet Colin, a handsome smooth-coated Border Collie from Korea with beautiful black-and-white markings, warm brown eyes, and the sweetest, most expressive ears. Lean, athletic, and full of life, Colin has a cheerful spirit that shines despite everything he has been through. Colin's story began in a heartbreaking place. He was kept by a household where dogs were raised and slaughtered for meat around Boknal, the hottest days of summer in Korea. But Colin refused to give up. One day, he managed to break free from his tether and escaped. Somehow, this intelligent and determined boy found his way to a dog rescue group. His escape may have saved his life. The rescuers knew that if Colin returned to the household, he could face a terrible fate that summer. They continued to speak with the owner and patiently pleaded for Colin's surrender. Eventually, the owner agreed. Colin was finally rescued. Unfortunately, the shelter was already full, so Colin was temporarily placed with an independent rescuer who primarily cared for small dogs. Knowing that Colin needed someone experienced with an active, energetic Border Collie, she asked DoReMi Rescue to take over his care. Colin has experienced several changes in his surroundings, but through it all, his wonderful personality has remained unchanged. He is bright, joyful, affectionate, and incredibly intelligent. Colin loves people and enjoys being part of their world. He is curious about his surroundings and eager to experience new things. He is also wonderfully social with other dogs and absolutely loves running and playing with canine friends. He does well with children, too. Now, after everything he has survived, Colin is safe. But he is still waiting for the final chapter of his story: A family to call his own. Colin would thrive with an active family who understands the needs of a Border Collie and can give him plenty of daily exercise, playtime, affection, and positive training. His brilliant mind needs to be kept busy, too. Nose work, interactive toys, training games, learning new skills, and exploring new places would help him flourish. Because Colin truly loves the company of other dogs, he could be very happy sharing his home with a friendly canine companion. His new family should also be prepared to continue working with him on house training and, most importantly, to give him the patience, consistency, and love he deserves. Colin has already fought hard for his freedom. Story
Daisy Duke is the sweetest girl with an incredibly gentle, affectionate personality! She is calm, well-mannered and loving, and although she can be a little timid at first, she warms up quickly and will happily shower you with affection. She was wonderful with her 6-year-old foster and even proved to be chicken-friendly! Daisy Duke is crate trained, knows "kennel," "outside," "inside," "shake," "sit," and "lie down," and is eager to please. She gets a treat when she goes into her kennel and settles nicely. She gets along beautifully with other dogs and enjoyed playful time with Lulu. She also plays very gently with her foster kitten and seems to think he's her baby! And if you're looking for a car companion, Daisy Duke is your girl! She LOVES car rides and loads up quickly. She is not destructive, rarely barks, and her foster has not found her to be a flight risk. She does need to be held securely on leash when squirrels make an appearance-those little critters are just too tempting! Daisy Duke does not need a fenced yard, although she loves her walks and enjoys relaxing in the grass afterward. She would be perfectly happy in an apartment and does not need another dog in the home. Important: Daisy Duke came from a cruelty case, but that chapter of her life is behind her. Today, she is ready to leave her past behind and finally experience the safe, loving forever home she deserves. Daisy Duke is gentle, loving, smart and resilient. And she is SO ready to be someone's beloved girl. Could you be her happily ever after?
