Story
Maisy is less than a 1 year old and weighs about 45 lbs. She is a happy-go-lucky, fun loving girl who brightens up every room she walks in. She is very smart and and will need to continue learning her manners with training or puppy classes but Maisy always eager to please her people. She loves to romp play and her favorite activities are playing with balls, blowing bubbles in the water dish, and being wherever the people are. Maisy would not do well in an apartment or condo lifestyle, as she needs a home with a yard for her activity level. She needs a kitty-free home and would best with older kids (13+) due to her high energy she may knock down a little child by accident. Note she does tend to nip in excitement. Dog selective, a meet and greet would be required.

Good with dogs,
Story
Felix is a super friendly boy, he's a border collie mix, approximately 1-2yrs old, only 35lbs. He was picked up by animal control as a stray that had never been handled. He was very scared and very mangy. He's come a long way in the 2 weeks he's been with us at the shelter! He's still learning the leash but enjoys attention and being handled. He is looking for his new forever home! He is good with other dogs, would probably learn a lot from an experienced pet sibling! He's no longer afraid of us and loves everyone he meets! ##1803232##

Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, Needs experienced adopter,
Story
I've had Xania since she was 3 months old. She is athletic, loves to train/work, and is very sweet once she’s comfortable with people. I’ve taught her obedience/manners, proper social skills/play with other dogs, and neutrality around cats. She's fear reactive due to a lack of socialization before I got her, so I’ve been working with her on that, as well. Because of this, she really needs an experienced owner. I would love to find someone who will be active with her (hikes, camping, etc.) or even do dog sports with her. She has a lot of potential and I think she could make an incredible beginner sport dog! I need to rehome Xania because I have to move next year and can’t bring any pet dogs. I have 2 service dogs and sadly can’t bring Xania as she’s a pet. I have time to find the right adopter and will be very selective. All her supplies, vet records, and an adoption contract are included in Xania's adoption. (I can provide more info about the contract as there isn't enough space here.)

Story
See more adoptable puppies at h2erescue.org! Hi my name is Hope. I am a 10 week old spayed female Border Collie / Corgi MIX. My mom is a Border Collie Mix and my dad is a Corgi Mix. I am up to date on my shots and ready to go home. Please go to our personal website at, h2erescue.org and fill out an application under my profile "I'm Interested". Our adoption fee is $526. This is used to cover vet care, vaccinations, food etc. We are a rescue group, not a shelter and we foster these animals at our home. Since we are a rescue, we can not guarantee the size or the breeds of the dog. We have the adoptions at Local Pet. 415 Gettysburg St. #1 Pittsburgh, PA 15206 on Wednesdays, but during these times, we are uncertain when we are able to have these events. We can meet you at our home base Adoption Center. The address is 3616 Williams Lake Rd, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663. Please Google this address first before you fill out an application, to make sure you can make the drive to us. Remember we show by appointment ONLY. Local Pet is all about Rescue, we thank them for allowing us to have adoption days there. One of their many specialties is pet sitting while families are away for birds, reptiles, and pocket pets. They are very experienced and reasonably priced. Plus they have food, treats, and toys for your furry friends as well.

Story
Gypsy came from a bad home. She was not being fed and was severely underweight. So the people surrendered Gypsy and her puppies to animal control to avoid animal cruelty charges. Gypsy definitely has a herding dog breed in her mix. We think Border Collie. Gypsy is around 4 years of age and weighs 70 pounds (she only weighed 35 pounds when we got her). Gypsy is a very good girl and the most obedient dog I have ever seen. She can climb a 6-foot fence, but I caught her on the first try, told her no, and she has not attempted it since. Gypsy is fairly active. She bounces on her front legs when she is excited, and she loves to run and play with her toys. She especially loves squeaky toys. Gypsy loves water and lays in the wading pool when it is hot. She gets excited about squirrels and cats on the other side of the fence. Gypsy gets along best with male dogs and doesn't like annoying small dogs. Gypsy loves human attention and is good with children. She can sit and comes when called, She is crate-trained, house-trained, and otherwise very well-behaved in the house. She could perhaps use a bit more obedience training with someone that is firm, patient, and loving. Gypsy is very sweet. She gets attached to her human and likes to lay under my desk when I work on the computer. Gypsy walks well on a leash and rides well in the car. She must be in the house as a loved member of the family and would like a large yard with a 6' fence to run and play. Gypsy is healthy. She is spayed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Gypsy had a light case of heartworms when we first got her. We used the slow-kill method (we are happy to explain this) and she is now negative for heartworms and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Gypsy's adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport to the Pittsburgh area. She is being fostered in Texas and cannot be transported until after she is adopted.
