Story
Alder is an extremely sweet, quiet, shy boy. He is the dog version of an introvert. He is gentle and sticks to himself and is great with other dogs of all sizes and with cats. He doesn't engage much with them thought as he prefers to do his own thing. He has to be the most low maintenance and chill dog I've ever had in the rescue out of hundreds of dogs. He is hesitant with people he doesn't know but never aggressive. Not an ounce of aggression. He was listed as a pit bull mix at the shelter when he was smaller and still a younger puppy but now that he is an older puppy (about a year) it's obvious that he is not a pittie but looks more like a border collie. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative) Adoption fee: $550 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
Jazzy is the kind of dog who brings energy and happiness into your life—without overwhelming it. She’s playful, friendly, and fun, but also has an independent side that makes her easy to live with. Her past isn’t pretty—but you’d never know it. Jazzy is social and confident, great with dogs of all sizes and cats, and naturally fits into whatever environment she’s in. She’ll happily join in on playtime, go on walks, or even randomly take a dip in the pond—then settle down like it’s no big deal. She’s affectionate without being clingy and has that ideal balance people are always looking for but rarely find. Good fit: someone who wants a fun, social dog that adds energy and joy to daily life without being overwhelming or demanding. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Location: Oklahoma (available to approved out-of-state adopters via transport) Health: Fully vetted (spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested) Adoption fee: $500 (includes transport + vetting) Bonus: Each adoption includes a 30-minute phone consultation with a professional trainer Transport routes: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ, VT Think you might be a good fit? Story
Some dogs bring chaos everywhere they go. This girl brings calm. At around 50 lbs, she has the look of a rugged little farm dog mix with a naturally steady personality to match. While other dogs are bouncing around causing chaos, she’s usually the one quietly observing everything with her calm, thoughtful expression. She’s affectionate without being clingy, social without being overwhelming, and has an easygoing energy that makes her relaxing to be around. Her coat gets thick in the winter with a dark brown undercoat and sheds out lighter in the summer, giving her that soft, weatherproof “country dog” look. She does great with other dogs and fits naturally into group environments without drama. She’s the type that settles in instead of constantly demanding stimulation or attention. There’s something very grounded about her personality. Good fit: someone looking for a calm, emotionally steady companion that’s easy to live with and enjoys connection without constant intensity. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. Story
This senior beauty  waited along time for his day.  Well its finally here buddy,  Montana was dumped at a kill shelter with alot of health issues.  We brought him in 8 weeks ago and fixed him all up. He lost some of his vision as he grew older  but that doesnt stop him :)  Now he needs a calm, quiet, fenced in yard home where he can enjoy being a family dog. and living the rest of his life.  He's UTD, Neutered, chipped and ready to go home. ##2646798##

Story
Lanook is a rescue originally from West Virginia ready to find his forever home!  This one year old border collie mix is a cuddle master who loves to give kisses and get belly rubs.  He’s eager to learn new tricks, toss his favorite toy around the house, and loves to meet new people.  He’s an active boy who loves to sniff every sniff possible and is very curious about his surroundings.  He likes treats, but loves climbing onto your lap even more. He is smart and curious..  He loves walks and exploring new places.  He has been excellent with other dogs and is always keen to play with new four-legged friends.  He is great w his foster sibling cat!  Lanook seems to really love kids, he has done great meeting them in leash but does have a tendency to heard so older kids may be better.   Lanook is making progress on his house training, so his forever home will need to help him along with potty training.  He is good in his crate for a few hours. He is neutered, dewormed, and up to date on shots.  He is very ready for his new life! ##2739576##
