You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Update 3.8.2014 Buddy is now 2 years old and will be a work in progress. Buddy needs an experienced dog person, he cn not be allowed off leash EVER, he needs someone willing to get him out ofhis shell.  Posted 1/14/13 Buddy was in a very bad situation, born in a barn and not socialized or fed on a regualar basis.  He is very shy and with a little work can become a wonderful companion,.  He is about 10 months old and weighs 38lbs so he will be a meduim sized dog.  He is slowly getting used to being in a house since it is all foreign to him.  He is much more comfortable outside and PLAYS like a champ! This dog does need a fenced yard!!   His adoption fee is $200, BUT remember he needs a little work to be your BEST BUDDY!!  All the dogs are Spayed or Neutered, Heartworm/Lyme tested, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas and overall Vet checked. We offer a 30 day money back guarantee along with an adoption kit . Application REQUIRED. We take the applications in the order that we receive them. Adoption fee required. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Image growing up in a yard with a human throwing you food over a fence and pouring water in your already dirty water day after day.  The human never touched you or the other three dogs in the yard and you lived outside like this summer, winter spring and fall until finally 8 years into your life someone reported your owner to the authorities and they finally came to save you!  You found yourself placed in a box separate from the only friends you had ever known.  Taken to a noisy shelter, poked, probed, bathed and then stuck in a kennel alone.  WOW SCARY right???  Well that was the experience for Max's, his best friend Moose and his 2 other fur buddies.  Unfortunately the oldest of the 4 was quite ill and passed away :(   The other one was adopted and seems to be doing well.  Max's was very shut down until the shelter staff placed him with Moose and then they saw Max's come back to life!   We couldn't allow Max's to lose the only friend he has ever had on this earth so we are taking both boys and they will only be adopted as a bonded pair with a contract signed that they will NOT be separated!! Max's & Moose will have to learn to live in a home, walk on a leash and understand what it is like to be valued and actually LOVED by a human.  If you would like to be considered for the boys please fill out an adoption application.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!July 10, 2024, 7:52 pm

Story
Meet Fawkes (a.k.a., Rye - just look at those eyes!), a 1-year-old border collie mix, weighing in at about 38 pounds. Fawkes was surrendered by a commercial breeder after not selling. Fawkes is learning to become a more confident dog now that he lives in a family with another dog and cats. He's not particularly vocal, which is a nice touch for a herding breed dog. He's been tested with children 9 & over, cats, and a larger dog. He has lots of energy and enjoys going on leashed walks in the park or around the neighborhood as well as playing with other dogs off leash in a securely fenced yard. Unsurprisingly he's super fast! Fawkes would enjoy a canine companion in his new home. He is wary of his feline housemates (they have pointy bits!), but does not chase them. He's food driven and lovestreats of all sorts. This boy is very bright and highly trainable. He enthusiastically responds to commands and under gentle leadership will thrive and become more confident. Someone who can give him the exercise and stimulation he craves is ideal. Fawkes has mastered going up and down stairs in a split-level house, leash walking, and sitting on command. Fawkes is a little nervous on car rides, but with exposure he'd probably come to enjoy them more. He likes his cage and sleeps soundly in it at night. Fawkes is potty-trained, but regression is common. Fawkes is being fostered near Valley Forge National Park, so his adoptive family will need to travel there for a meet-and-greet. Fawkes is UTD on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, neutered, and has been on flea/tick/heartworm prevention since coming into the rescue. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Spay scheduled for May 2, 2024 at TimberviewNow accepting applications for Mama Bree.  She is the Mama to our current J litter of pups.  She has completed her Mama duties and will be spayed by our Vet in Dillsburg on May 2, 2024.  She can be adopted prior as long as new owner can take and pick her up from her appt. Bree is a sweet, loving gal that is crate trained, leash trained, rides well in a car and is good with other dogs.  She is however shy and timid and needs time to acclimate and come out of her shell.  She is doing better with her Foster mom and is not submissive peeing when being touched as much as when she first arrived the the Foster home.   Bree needs a home with no small children, and adults that will be patient and loving to her and help her build her confidence so she can be a loving and loyal companion that we know she can be. If you are interested in meeting Bree and have an approved application with us, please reach out to her Foster Mom at Twhite@weavermoving.com  Tell her a little about your family, day to day life and what name and email your application was submitted with. Story
“One of the most intelligent breeds, challenging to live with, intensity and obsessive zeal of working, sharp-eyed, quick-thinking, fanatical workaholic” That’s what you think about when considering a Border Collie! Well, hate to BURST YOUR BUBBLE, “That’s NOT ME!” Hey all, I’m Shadow, a 6 month old gal weighing in at approx. 40#. Thought to be Border Collie Mix that is mixed with a much more docile, fun loving and goofy breed. Maybe a lab? Who knows, but I am intelligent, good with dogs, kids, adults and do have a bark that is heard at times (but not excessive). I don’t run around like a crazy girl, try to herd or show intensity. My best things in life are playing with toys, my fellow kennel mates, running/jumping in a pack or trying to return affection to my person. Yep, I’m eager to please and even tempered. Daily activity is good for all us 4-leggeds. Being young, I do still have some normal puppy training needs, but having some Border Collie in me, I know together we can tackle anything. Daily exercise is also needed, a few good walks, playing ball, frisbee or taking a ride will do. All these things will help me grow strong, gain experience and bond closer to you, my future mom/dad. So maybe my Border Collie cousins are into herding live stock, jumping like an acrobat for a frisbee, That’s not me. I’m a true, down to earth, loving girl that just wants to have a “Normal Good Time” with my family. How about it? Are you Game???? I’m Shadow and I want to be your “Inseparable Companion” by your side!  To submit an adoption application, visit mollysplacerescue.org. Fill the form out completely, print, scan and email back to mollysplace@verizon.net. You must obtain pre-approval prior to visiting the dog or cat. Adoptions fees include the following:    spay/neuter surgery,  microchip and registration,  age appropriate vaccinations,  initial dewormings,  Activyl for fleas,  tested for FeLV and FIV (cats only),  bubble bath prior to going home (dogs only) WE do not "HOLD" animals without an approved application and a non-refundable/non-transferable paid adoption fee.  Adoptions are on a first come, first serve basis.  We can not send extra pictures.  WE do not ship, you must pick up the pet.  Kitties must be transported in a secure cat carrier.   Pooches require a "martingale" collar and a non-retractable leash. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 16, 2024, 10:17 pm
