Looking to rehome our dog due to a growing family. Sadly, we are unable to give her the attention she deserves. She is an 8 year old border collie/ feist terrier mix who is a bundle of joy. Totally content being indoors or running around outdoors and will be your best friend. She is up to date on vaccines. We are asking for a $100 rehoming fee but she will go with her crate, toys, and a bag of food.

Story
Charlie is a wonderful dog who we have had for almost six years. We suspect he is about seven or eight years old. Per a "Doggy DNA" test, he is 50% border collie, 25% lab, and 25% miscellaneous. Due to unforeseen life circumstances, we are not able to do the things that we used to do with Charlie. We'd love for him to go to a very active home - bonus points if it is a farm of some type that has a lot of room for him to run. Charlie does well just chilling at home, but we know that is not what he would prefer. He is goofy and loving. He was adopted and thus his complete history is not fully known. We have never rehomed a pet, so this is very very difficult and we hope that we can find a home where we can still receive updates on Charlie. We want to ensure Charlie goes to a responsible dog owning home that is loving and able to give Charlie the attention he deserves.

Story
Freckles across his nose, a little black “Batman mask,” happy tippy-taps when he’s excited, and a heart that clearly wants to belong… this is Holliday. Equal parts goofy charm and affectionate shadow, Holliday is the kind of dog who leans all the way into love. His biggest dream? A couch, a person, and permission to pretend he’s a lap dog. Want to see those adorable tippy taps and that little masked face in action? Head over to YouTube and then come right back to learn more about the boy who believes every good day should include affection, snacks, and a welcoming lap to climb into. https://youtu.be/lPFbycVn8XA Holliday is estimated to be about 2 years old and appears to be a Border Collie mix but given he is a rescue, breed and birthday cannot be guaranteed. From the moment you meet him, Holliday’s affectionate nature is easy to see. He absolutely lights up when people give him attention and has a charming little habit of doing “tippy taps” with his feet when he’s happy or excited. It’s the kind of happy motion that makes everyone around him smile whether they are meeting for the first time or its a familiar connection. And inside its only sweeter, he is affectionate and his aspirations for lap-dog life really shine. Holliday is more than happy to make the first move and will come in close to soak up the love and lean in for a new nestling nose kisses. He is still learning some of the everyday things that come with the cozy life as a family dog. For example, couches were a new concept to him. When invited up, he wasn’t quite sure how to get there at first and needed a little boost. Moments like that tell us he’s likely still discovering what a comfortable home life looks like. The good news is that he’s eager to connect with people, smart and very responsive to guidance, which makes him a wonderful boy to open your heart and home to. On leash, Holliday is enthusiastic and currently pulls a bit, especially when he sees other dogs he’d like to meet. Much of his life before rescue life was spent on a very short leash outdoors so the world is understandably very exciting to him right now. With a confident understanding handler he has been making great progress with continued leash training. He is also very responsive to direction, correction, and listens well when told “no.” With other dogs, Holliday shows friendly curiosity. When meeting dogs he likes to sniff hello and then wander off to explore the yard. Play is still a bit of a mystery to him, but with the right dog companion we have seen he learns quickly and is easily invited to play even if she doesn’t know the steps after that. When meeting new dogs he reads them well and respects boundaries and limits easily. We can see him being a wonderful fit for a home with medium-energy, similarly sized dogs. Holliday is also very food motivated, which is wonderful for training. He eats enthusiastically and takes treats gently. Because Holliday can be a little jumpy, which he is working on, when he’s excited to receive affection, we think he’ll do best in a home with older kids who won’t be knocked over by his enthusiastic greetings. His affection truly comes from a joyful place and is gentle, not rough or heavy footed. He just hasn’t quite learned yet that hugs don’t always have to involve all four feet leaving the ground, but some people do enjoy those big, warm dog hugs. A home with a yard would be ideal for Holliday while he continues building his leash skills, giving him space to stretch his legs and explore safely. With time, guidance, and a loving environment, we think this freckled little masked hero is going to blossom into a wonderful, lap-loving, whole-new-world companion and sidekick. If you’re looking for a dog who will greet you with tippy taps, shower you with affection, and happily grow alongside you as he learns what family life is all about, Holliday is your guy! Story
Knox isn’t just another cute puppy—he’s the one with a little spark behind his eyes, the one who’s always thinking, always watching, always figuring things out before you even realize he’s trying. If you’re looking for a dog who just exists in the background, Knox is not your guy. If you’re looking for a dog who engages, who learns you just as quickly as you learn him, who makes every day feel a little more alive—now we’re talking. At just 3½ months old, Knox is already operating on a whole different level. He’s genuinely one of the smartest puppies you’ll ever meet. He’s currently in a loving foster home where he’s absolutely thriving, and it shows in everything he does. Knox isn’t just “doing well” with training—he’s excelling. He already knows commands like sit, lay down, shake, spin, and continues to pick up new ones like it’s second nature. You can see how much he enjoys learning—it’s not just something he tolerates, it’s something he looks forward to. Give him something to figure out, and he lights up. Watch how cute he is in his YouTube video now https://youtu.be/fMee3NwdwwU?si=RPj72862W6sFQlLR He’s the kind of dog who needs that engagement. Knox does best when he has structure, consistency, and things to do—whether that’s training sessions, puzzle toys, interactive play, or just being included in your daily routine. He thrives when his mind is active and his energy has an outlet. In the right environment, he absolutely flourishes into this incredible, well-rounded, impressive dog. Without it, he’ll find his own ways to stay busy—and like any smart, young puppy, those ideas might not always align with yours. Personality-wise, Knox is just as wonderful as he is intelligent. He’s playful, goofy, and full of life, with that classic puppy bounce that makes everything feel a little more fun. He loves to play, loves to explore, and loves being part of whatever is going on. But he’s not all energy—he has a really sweet, affectionate side too. After he’s had his fun, he’ll happily settle in close, soak up attention, and just be your little shadow. Knox would do best in an active home that’s excited to continue working with him and giving him the kind of life he thrives in. A home with a yard would be ideal so he has space to move, play, and burn off that happy puppy energy. More than anything, he’s looking for his person—someone who wants a true companion, someone who will invest in him, challenge him, and include him. He bonds deeply and does best when he has that consistent connection. This isn’t just a “good puppy.” Knox is the kind of dog who, with the right person, becomes something really special. The kind you’re proud of, the kind people notice, the kind you can’t imagine your life without once he’s in it. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69d3f69314b18eef750d9ce2 Questions? Story
This cutie is Brandy. She is currently 4 months old and weighs approximately 19lbs. We think they may be a border collie/ Australian shepherd mix, but with rescue it’s a guess! What matters most is that they are adorable and are one the MOST desperate in the entire US based on statistics for where this puppy is from. Shelters in this area are having to euthanize puppies. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from us, it saves their life as well as the life of another in its place. Watch Brandy’s playful personality here: https://youtu.be/eONmEGF4N5w?si=SnjARUCoETxUljRa Brandy is playful, sweet, curious, and cuddly. She loves to play with her siblings and take lots of naps. Eat, sleep, play, repeat- such is puppy life! We pride ourselves in being able to give you good personality and behavioral information to help ensure this baby is the right fit for you. You are also welcome to do a Facetime call to meet your new baby before signing paperwork! Brandy is still very young and will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. A puppy is discovering new things that shape their personalities with each passing day. Implementing routine, structure, setting boundaries, and proper socialization is key from the start. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy starting immediately when arriving at their new home, which will help with potty training, energy management, and the overall development of a well-rounded adult dog. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
If you’ve heard the expression “personality plus” it was no doubt in reference to Robin. He’s sweet, cuddly, and loyal. Whether he’s proudly adding to his daily stick collection or inventing a new game, he brings an effortless charm to everything he does. Loves playing with his people: fetch, puzzles, you name it. Whip-smart, eager to learn, and motivated to please. Mastered basic obedience skills, crate trained, and walks nicely on leash after the excitement of the outing wears off a bit. If you’re an outdoorsy soul, Robin is your perfect match. He’s an adventure buddy with plenty of energy for hikes, camping, and weekend exploring. Daily exercise is the way to his heart, and an occasional bigger excursion is icing on the cake. When activity winds down, he’s ready to enjoy cuddle time with his favorite people. Robin is a fit for families with older kids and has lived with cats in the past. He gets along well with other dogs and would love a canine companion in his new home or could be an only dog. Find a video mashup of his adventures at https://youtu.be/ZBva0eIoGMU Robin’s health is managed through a hydrolyzed protein diet to keep his sensitive tummy stable. He takes seizure-prevention medication for episodes that occur roughly twice per year. The total cost for his specialized food and medication is about $180/mo, which is certainly a consideration for his new family. The return on investment is incalculable: it’s the reward of sharing life with an extraordinary dog. If you’re looking for a bright, affectionate, endlessly entertaining companion, Robin may just be the perfect addition to your family. He can’t wait to bring laughter, love, and lots of his precious sticks into his new home. APPLY TO ADOPT this handsome lad at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt Heart of a Border Collie will be screening applications for Robin. His adoption will be a private transaction between his existing and new families. A rehoming fee may be negotiated. Robin was adopted from Heart of a Border Collie in Minnesota as a puppy, and his family has now moved to the Seattle area where we hope to work with his family and help him find a new home.
