"She ran calling "WILD.....FIRE"!! That is a haunting song.... I promise, though..I am not a HAUNTER!! But I may love to run around and around and AROUND :) I am a puppy! I am so sweet and cuddly, when i finish running around ;) I have plenty of energy so you HAVE to be ready to burn it off with mental and physical exercise. I am SMART too! First let me tell you about my journey.. I've had quite the journey to get here. For months, the local fire department tried catching me. But then they had luck when they found me stuck during the big flood over water we got, and brought me to rescue. As it turns out, I wasn't always a stray. I had a family once. After my boy passed away, his mom couldn't care for me anymore, and I was left to fend for myself. It was a confusing time, but I'm ready to leave the past behind and find a family to love again. Now, I'm happiest living the easy life. I'm an older gal, and I've definitely earned my naps! I do love to nap and be lazy, but I still have some spunk and like to play with my toys and other dogs. I also love taking walks! I walk great on leash, respond great to my name, kennel and potty trained, I'm quiet, gentle, and easy to be around. I also love to play fetch, tug-a-war and swim. I'm already spayed, fully vaccinated, 4DX tested (positive for heartworm), and up to date on my ProHeart 12 and Bravecto. I am heartworm positive right now, but I’ve already started treatment. I’ve been on antibiotics and am going through the ProHeart 12 protocol approved by the American Heartworm Society. The good news is that with this treatment, I should test negative in about 8–10 months. If you're looking for a sweet, loyal companion who will happily keep you company through lazy afternoons, neighborhood strolls, and all of life's little moments, I think we might be the perfect match. Animal Profile: Buddy is a 4.5-year-old Doodle (1/2 Border Collie 1/2 Standard Poodle). He was purchased from a breeder prior to his owners having children. Buddy is a friendly but slightly anxious guy who has not adjusted well to having a toddler in the home. His family invested in a 4-week board and train with a local dog trainer in hopes that it would help Buddy feel more comfortable around small toddlers. Buddy completed his training; he has excellent house and leash manners, is house trained, crate trained; and knows the ‘place’ command. Unfortunately he was still too uncomfortable around the kids after training, and his family decided it was best to find him a new home. Buddy has been trained using balanced methods, including e collar for off leash reliability. Buddy does great at doggy daycare, but does have some resource guarding around food and select toys when it comes to other dogs. While he enjoys his dog friends, we think he’d be happiest as an only dog. Buddy has not lived with cats. Buddy is currently in foster care with a balanced trainer, and doing well. Hello all! We adopted Liberty from a rescue a few years ago back in Arizona. We were told she was named Liberty due to being found on July 4th. She's 3 years old and has very high energy! No joke, she can play with other dogs for 8 hours and still keep going.She's very loving and sweet, but with us having 2 kids under 2 years old, both working jobs, our schedules have become far too busy to give her the attention and play she deserves. She does well with our almost 2 year old, but would fit best with children in elementary school or older, and/or with other playful dogs. She gets along with our cat as well.
