Story
Kage is a good boy, and just SO cute ;) He is a gentleman in the house, fully potty trained and leash/ harness trained. He gets along great with other dogs and enjoys playing in the backyard with his buds... Kage is a gorgeous lab/border collie mix, the perfect combination of smarts and drive with the family-ness of a lab. He is a great size as well- kind of a mini lab or slightly larger border collie! When you have two great things that go great together, you CELEBRATE!! He is that combo, so you can celebrate by actually adopting him into a fantastic home! He has such a sweet temperament, great with everyone he meets. He does not do well with storms but can be managed, he loves his people and is best if they are around alot. His foster mom just loves him and has gotten him as prepared for his family as she can, now it is up to you! ADOPT, DON'T SHOP!!!!! His LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!!! He also needs to be kept a close eye on when it comes to the front door as Mr. Carter has been known to run a time or two at the door. Good with dogs,
Story
Tulsi Sleeping: She is used to dog beds, a nice furry rug but has never slept in a human bed. She is free roam day/night. She chooses dog beds in primary room or living room. Vehicles: She is used to riding in a pick-up's back seat (never the open bed of a pickup). Has been car sick on winding roads. House trained: Tulsi is fully potty and house trained. She has had no accidents since a young puppy. She will walk to the back door and sit/stand to alert she needs out. Tulsi does not need a crate when you are out of the house. She's never been in a crate during the time she was in her adopoter's home or current foster mom's home. She is not a counter surfer or a chewer. Treats/Toys: Tulsi enjoys bully sticks, furry stuffed animals with squeakers. She takes treats softly with a gentle mouth. Doggie companions at home: Tulsi has lived with dogs her whole life. She's never been a single dog. She's lived with small dogs and large dogs of both genders. She does not care for cats. She has a strong prey drive for squirrels and is VERY fast and strong when she's got her mind on catching that squirrel. This would likely go for cats too. Tulsi does enjoy playing with her pack mates but is almost more content being inside with her people. Best home environment: Tulsi's best home environment would be with a calm confident doggie pack mate so she has a playmate. BUT honestly she'd do just fine being a single dog with an active person. She seems to want the attention of people over the attention of dogs. She is a velcro dog and wants to be everywhere her person/people are. She would even do well as a small home/apartment dog because she is quiet, not destructive and very body aware. She doesn't knock things over. Tulsi would also make a great waking, running pr hiking partner. Personality: Tulsi is a very loving dog and loves to be pet. She loves to raise up on her back legs and give hugs as well we receive. She has good recall with "TULSI COME" and appreciates a treat as a reward when she comes. She doesn't jump on people as if she has no boundaries, but has been taught to ask for hugs and scratches this way. She is a big soft gentle girl that loves baby talk. She is an excellent companion. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Looking for a smarty pants? Well you found me! Hi! I’m Cody! I am a 7yrs old Border Collie mix, around 45lbs. I am one of the nice guys and smart too, everything you are looking for in a companion! I love the peoples and the other doggos. Do not be fooled by my age, I am still young and spry and could show younger pups a thing or two! I am ready now to find my forever home and get going on life's adventures with you! *All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. We believe fostering dogs and not having them decompress in a kennelled environment is more beneficial for the dogs and builds their trust and companionship in a family situation. Adoption fee includes transportation costs, previous/current medical treatment (spay/neuter, etc.) and a health certificate for cross-state travel*

Story
Tommy was found wandering the streets of Ensenada, dirty, full of ticks, very thin and with mange, but the most shocking thing was the tumor hanging from his groin, approximately 15cm in diameter. At the vet's office it was more feasible to amputate his penis and remove the tumor that was rooted to it, however we made the fight to not have to amputate it, and he was given about 15 chemotherapies so that the tumor reached 4 cm in diameter and could be removed. He only needed 2 more chemo treatments and today he is ready for his new home! He is a VERY loyal, loving dog, and is always by your side, looking for cuddles, affection and loves to be kissed. He is a dog that even though he doesn't get along well with other males, he is good with females and puppies, although sometimes he is a little grumpy, he prefers the tranquility and the company of humans. He always has a scolding face! We guess it's his way of blackmailing us to give him treats, haha. But he is one of the cutest dogs we have in the shelter, he has certainly won our hearts. He is an excellent traveler, he knows perfectly well how to ride in a car, and he loves walks, seeing new places and above all, sleeping in a big bed at the end of the day. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transportation to Rowland Heights, Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash. The adoption fee does not include transportation. The transportation fee is around $150.

Story
Requires: -Herding breed experienced home -Large fenced yard outside the city -Another playful dog in the home her size or larger Keira is a 2 year old, 50lb Border Collie who is looking for her perfect home. She takes a while to trust, but is loyal to her people once she does. Keira is fearful of people and does not easily trust. She can be skittish and is a flight risk if not contained properly. She will build trust with her people after a period of time spent together and trust building, but she is not a ‘people’ dog with new people. She is definitely a dog's dog. She prefers to be with her dog friends and spends her days out in a play yard with 5-7 other dogs. Keira will need a home that understands and is ok with the fact she is not a super lovey dog that will want human attention all the time. Keira will do best in an adult only home that is patient in building her trust and ok with her being aloof and doing her own thing at times. She is well mannered and does great hanging out in a fenced yard with her dog friends. She is super active and loves to run around in her current large play yard with other dogs. Keira will thrive in a home with a large fenced yard outside of the city. She is not an apartment/condo/townhome dog. Keira requires at least one other dog around her size in the home, and herding breed experience. She would thrive in a more rural setting with a large fenced yard. Keira is UTD on shots, spayed, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $400.

Story
FOSTER/FOSTER-TO-ADOPT: Meet Denver! This beautiful Aussie/Border Collie mix has been through a lot in his life including living on the streets. He will need a confident owner who has experience with working breeds and rescue dogs. He came to us very shut down and did not trust. He is starting to come out of his shell but can be anxious, very protective and is only beginning to trust. He is potty trained, and crate trained and loves to go on walks. He does resource guard (with food, toys, etc), which is no surprise as he is used to competing for his food and resources living on the streets. He requires an adult only home with no other animals or children. He will need a free standing home in suburban or rural neighborhood with a fully fenced yard. He would benefit from being in a foster/foster-to-adopt home where someone could work with him and teach him to trust again. He is currently intact and will need to be altered prior to adoption. He is up to date on his vaccinations and microchipped. His adoption fee is $200.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Chloe! A 1-year-old, 35 lb Border Collie/Shepherd mix who came to us as a stray from CA and is looking for her forever home! Chloe is a super sweet girl who loves to be with people. She is an active girl who walks well on a leash and is learning basic commands. She would love an active family to take her on walks, hikes and adventures. She has done well with other dogs in our care and would love to have another dog in the home or could do well as an only dog as long as she continues to be well socialized. She would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard in a suburban or rural neighborhood. She is not tested with kids or cats. Chloe is on the wait list to be spayed and will be spayed prior to adoption. She is UTD on shots and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $500.

Story
Are you in search of a one-of-a-kind serial kisser? Well, look no further, because I, Mandy, am the dog you've been waiting for! I come with a mix of awesomeness and a charming 5-year-old personality that's sure to steal your heart. I can be delightfully laid-back, enjoying those calm moments, or I can transform into a bouncing ball of joy when the mood strikes. Walks and jogs? Count me in, especially if you're by my side. But here's the thing-I love playing with other dogs so much that I often choose their company over toys. Let's talk sunbathing. If your couch has that perfect spot for catching rays, you can bet I'll be there, soaking it all in. I'm a big fan of lounging, whether it's under tables, during dinner time, while you're working at your desk, or even when you're cuddled up in bed. I'm all about being close to my people, and if you choose to adopt me, I'll be all about you! I'm a sociable girl, getting along well with other dogs and kids (especially with submissive/non-dominant dogs). My crate training and potty training with a doggy door are top-notch. I'm a pro at commands like going to my crate and sitting patiently. Now, about my diet-here's the deal: I have EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency), which means my pancreas doesn't produce the enzymes I need to digest food properly. Thanks to some attentive rescuers and veterinary care, we've got it all figured out. I'll need a specific diet and a pancreatic enzyme replacement supplement to keep me feeling great. Think of it as a special appetizer and entree at every meal. EPI won't slow me down, and I'm ready to trade serial kisses for a loving forever home day in and day out. So, how about it? Mac is a sweet boy who knows what he wants! He does love to chase and play with animals smaller than him. Due to this we suggest that he does not go home to a family that has cats or things like chickens. Squirrels watch out! This little guy can move! Mac also enjoys being the only dog. He would prefer a home where he is the center of attention and can soak up all the puppy love from his people. He is a lazy boy and does enjoy snoozing and spending time on the couch napping but at the same time can have his moments where he is ready to go. He is housebroken and does just fine in a crate! "Get your motor runnin'! Head out on the highway! Looking for adventure and whatever comes our way!!!" That is one pawsome song right? My name is Wanda! I am a year old lowriding dachshund MIX :) looking for an ACTIVE family! They say I'm a very smart cookie, that sounds amazing!!! Who doesn't like cookies?! I know sit, fetch and learning to drop it. I have doggie friends and I've met the kitties and they are ok too! I am still a little nervous with new people and sometimes like to bork at them so they know I'm there. Foster mom is teaching me so many cool things all the time. I am crate trained and I LOOOVE belly rubs! I would do great with an active family that likes to go on hikes, adventures and give me lots of chewy toys and stimulate my growing mind! If you like to have a good time like me, have your people get with my people and let's get this pawty started!!!
