FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks! --- Meet Fizzlepop! He's another dog that was pulled into our foster program when our local shelter had to evacuate due to flooding. The foster family thought he was such an amazing boy - they asked to keep him as a Save-A-Mutt dog! Fizzle came in as a stray and nobody claimed him. He looks bigger than he is - at just over 50# he's a very nice size. But - what the heck is he. Cattle dog maybe, with a shepherd or husky? He's stuffing, his red coat and unique markings. Fizzle is probably around 18 months old and living in a home with other dogs. He's respectful of new dogs that he meets, but is active and enjoys play! The foster family has been introducing him to walks - he's just so smart and eager to learn. He is loose in house and is housebroken. He may need reminders in a new home. His ideal home has a large fenced yard, and an active family willing to take him on walks and adventures. He LOVES balls... and is learning too get comfortable in the car. This dog is neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training. Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption. We think he would benefit from training and we will require a training contract. It's simple, you pick a trainer in your area. Adoption fee is $375. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible. Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home. Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.

Story
About Kyle Kyle is a sweet-natured mixed-breed dog, believed to be approximately 9 years old. Besides needing a home with no other animals, this is one of those dogs you question, “Why have you been at the shelter this long?!” Kyle is just a good boy who is very well-mannered; all he wants is someone to call his own. Due to his breed, Kyle can be energetic, but at his age, he has slowed down somewhat. Kyle would love to go on walks with you and enjoy sitting on the couch together afterward. Considerations No kids under 12 Needs to be the only pet Needs a fenced yard

Story
*** Bluey is NOT in the direct care of Happy Tails Happy Homes. We are simply assisting his current owner with rehoming him at no fault of his own. If you are interested in Bluey, please fill out an application at https://www.happytailshappyhomes.org/adoptionform *** Bluey 11 months old • Blue Heeler / German Shepherd mix Bluey is a playful, energetic pup who loves to chase anything you throw—balls, sticks, you name it! He’s affectionate and always up for belly rubs and attention. Bluey has done well with people and kids, though he hasn’t had much interaction with other animals yet. He’s a healthy young dog to the best of our knowledge, with no known medical or behavioral issues. His previous medical records were misplaced, but we’re working on retrieving them from his former vet. Bluey deserves a home where he can get the time, attention, and activity he loves.

Story
Jasper is a 12-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix who has been a cherished member of his family for the past 10 years. At a healthy 50 pounds, Jasper is a sturdy dog with a peaceful disposition. He’s a gentle soul with a calm and affectionate demeanor, making him the perfect companion for those seeking a loyal and laid-back friend. Jasper absolutely loves car rides and walks, and you can see the excitement in his eyes whenever it's time to head out for an adventure! He’s never shown aggression toward people or animals, peacefully coexisting with chickens and a cat for many years. He also has a playful side and enjoys chasing squirrels in the yard from time to time. He gets along with all sizes, breeds, and ages of dogs. He has been around children and done very well. As he ages, Jasper is starting to lose some of his hearing, but his loving, loyal personality remains as strong as ever. During the day, you’ll often find him lounging around the house, enjoying restful moments. Jasper makes an excellent adventure buddy. He’s a smart dog who loves being by his person’s side, bringing comfort and companionship wherever he goes. If you’re looking for a sweet, low-maintenance companion who enjoys both adventure and relaxation, Jasper could be your perfect match!
