Story
When the shelter reached out and asked if we could help this injured senior boy, our answer was an immediate YES. Meet the invincible Nelson Toothpaste. At 10 years young, this handsome boy went through what most have not. BUT, despite everything he’s been through, he has been nothing but sweet, gentle, and grateful. It is suspected that he was attacked by another dog, leaving him with a large puncture wound along with several bumps and bruises. Thankfully, our veterinarian is optimistic and believes he will make a full recovery with proper care and time. What amazes us most is his spirit. Even while recovering from painful injuries, he has remained a perfect gentleman—kind, patient, and trusting with everyone he meets. Now it’s our turn to help him heal. If you would like to contribute toward his medical care and recovery, any donation, no matter the size, will make a difference. Your support helps us provide the veterinary treatment, medications, and comfort he needs as he begins his journey to a brighter future. Donation can be made via PayPal: beourpet@gmail.com Zelle: beourpet@gmail.com Venmo using the link above, or you can send a check or money order to: Umbrella of Hope 4040 Railroad Ave Pittsburg CA 94565 Thank you for helping us give this deserving senior the second chance he so clearly deserves. Story
Feather, Gus, & Dale. We are an accidental litter. We are neutered, chipped & vaccinated. We are Pug Schnauzer mix. Mom is 100% Pug & dad is Schnauzer/mini Poodle. We are 12 weeks old & our days consist of playing & taking naps. Because we are still young, my mom wants everyone to know that we will need help w/potty-training because we are new at it. Being 50% pug means we will shed. Even if you think maybe we won't because of our Schnauzer genes, it's better to assume that we will, because pugs shed a lot, so we won't be good in a home w/someone w/allergies. We are very playful. We are not crate-trained, although we do sleep in a playpen w/each other. We’ve never been alone before, so we will probably cry until we get used to it or maybe someone will adopt who has a friend for us. Mom expects to get lots of interested families for us, so we apologize if we don't respond right away. Tell us about you. Your location, your current pets, your work schedule & any info about your household.

Story
Pug / Dachshund Mix Age: ≈ 4 years old Female, spayed 15 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Cheerio came to the Sacramento County Shelter underweight and with an embedded foxtail in her neck. It was removed surgically, but post-op they had trouble stopping the bleeding. She tested negative for any blood clotting disorder - perhaps the surgery nicked an artery? Eventually, the bleeding stopped, but it left her anemic. The shelter needed a rescue group that specializes in medical cases to continue addressing her veterinary needs. Over time in foster care, her anemia improved and she gained her weight back. She is a very friendly, sweet dog. She likes attention and affection from her foster parents and volunteers. She likes roughhousing with the younger, larger dogs in her foster home. She doesn’t like being confined or kept away from the activities of the home. Crate training would be pretty difficult - lots of barking. Apartment living may not be the best option for her. We have no experience with her as an only dog. We would recommend that she go to a home with other playful, friendly dogs. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. Story
Say hello to Remy and that adorable little tongue! Its always peeking out because Remy has no teeth (more on that below), and it only adds to her charm. Remy is a four-year-old pug who came to us as an owner surrender and is now looking for her forever home. Remy is affectionate, smart, and already knows her basic commands (and some fun ones!) Shes fully potty trained and loves nothing more than being close to her people. She also is great in a crate! A true velcro pug, Remy wants to be by your side and go everywhere with you. Shes an active girl who enjoys playtime and exercise, especially a good game of fetch. Remy enjoys hikes, sniffing around, and soaking up the sunshine. While she generally gets along with other dogs, she does show some resource guarding, so thoughtful introductions and guidance are important. She's also not a big fan of larger dogs, much like many small dogs. Shes been around cats and young kids and does fine. Remy would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time to provide the consistency, reassurance, and companionship she needs right now. All of Remys teeth were removed when she was young due to some malformations, so she eats softened kibble and absolutely loves her veggies. Bonus: no dental cleanings needed! She has no health issues other than the one that was resolved with the teeth pulling. Her previous family decided to rehome her after welcoming a baby and no longer having the time she deserves. Remy is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, and shes currently being fostered in San Francisco. Shes ready to give her whole heart to a family who will cherish her forever.

Story
This beautiful girl is a lovable 1-2 year old pug with a big personality and an even bigger heart! This sweet girl is the perfect mix of playful energy and couch-snuggle champion. Isla loves to play, zoom around, and have fun with her people, but once playtime is over, shes happiest curled up beside you for cuddles. If youre looking for a built-in nap buddy and expert sleeping companion, Isla is your girl. Shes very food motivated (treats are definitely the way to her heart!) but has a gentle nature around food and is not protective of her meals or snacks. Isla thrives on affection, attention, and being close to her humans. Isla is also working on her potty training and doing well with consistency, patience, and encouragement. With guidance, regular trips outside, and lots of praise, shes well on her way and eager to keep learning with her future family. To help set her up for a happy, healthy future, Isla is getting spayed tomorrow with a soft palate surgery to improve her breathing and comfort. Shell be ready to join her forever family early next week! If youre searching for a fun-loving, affectionate companion who will happily alternate between playtime and cuddle time, Isla cant wait to meet you. We pulled her from a pug up north in Yuba City, where she had been turned in as a stray.

Good with kids,
Story
Please read before applying: Mouse has been diagnosed with bilateral luxating patellas; one is mild and one is severe enough to eventually require surgery when she's older and more fully grown (a year or so). Our veterinarian also believes she may have a mild form of hydrocephalus due to her stunted growth. She does not need treatment at this time and may never develop significant symptoms, but she will need lifelong monitoring for neurological changes. We will only be considering adopters without small children or large dogs due to her size and fragility. She will also need to be fed 3-4 times a day for the next few months and would do best with another young small dog to play and socialize with. Mouse came to us with two of her siblings; she was severely underweight at 1/3rd the size of them. She didn't put on any weight for weeks, and when she did it was incremental. She's a total spitfire, and we think it's to make up for her tiny body. She has a big personality, loves untying your shoes, running around screaming after other dogs, curling up in your arms, snuggling with other dogs, and making everyone around her laugh. Adopters are required to sign a spay contract.
