Story
Meet the Oober adorable Pigeon Bird! Pigeon is a 3 year old 12 lb PugCHi mix that came to us from @mManteca AniManteca Animal Services     This is what her foster family has to say about her-   ' While fearful at first, this little gal will soon become curious, confident, sweet and loving. She is a high energy girl and would match well with an active person.   Pigeon is most eager to please and would benefit from training classes to harness her enthusiasm and energy. She will follow you everywhere, and shows potential as a velcro dog, but at this stage is always on the move, sniffing, inspecting, patrolling and napping on yours houlder. Once Pigeon is confident about her environment, she will nap quietly next to you or on your shoulder if possible.       We don’t recommend a house with cats, as she chases them, but she does well with other dogs. She hasn’t been tested with children yet, so we don’t know how she is.   Pigeon is afraid of loud noises, but with time seems to become more adjusted.   She is not completely housebroken yet, and knows how to use pee pads. She is great on leash, doesn’t pull, and with some training, will become even better. When she sees the leash she bounces up and down with joy!   Pigeon also enjoys rides in the car but will need to be harnessed in as she likes to explore her environment. She also enjoys going to work with her foster mom and getting attention and napping in the big office chair with her dog buddy.   Some of her favorite pastimes are furniture parkour, rolling around on her back, and invading the space of her people. She doesn’t seem terribly food motivated at this point, it could be because she is still getting settled, after her stressful time in the shelter. Getting her to take pills has proven to be a bit of a challenge, one that has been solved by wrapping them in cat food or chicken, or some other high-value food.'   If you are interested in adopting this sweet amazing girl, please fill out an application at www.beourpet.org/adoptions.php   If you are unable to adopt but want to help ***PLEASE SHARE PIGEONS STORY***   GENERAL INFO:   Housebroken?: Working on it Crate Trained?: Yes Leash Trained?: Yes Rides Well in Car?: Yes Non-Shedding?: No Good with cats?: Chases but does not harm Good with dogs?: Yes Qualifies for Seniors for Seniors?: Regular adoption fee applies Umbrella of Hope does not have any strict rules on ages of children because all children are different, but our best approximation is that this animal would do best with children over the age of 5 Umbrella of Hope is an all-volunteer, donation-run, non-profit animal rescue based out of Pittsburg, CA that rescues animals from local shelters, places them in private foster homes, provides them with needed medical care and then finds them new homes.  Also, ask us about our seniors for seniors program, where we adopt animals 5 years or older to qualified homes with a $5 donation as an adoption fee. Story
Frank was transferred to Valley Humane on 4/19 from the East County Animal Shelter after being abandoned. Frank is an adult dog (estimated to be between 4 and 7 years old) and weighs 14.5 pounds.Frank has a shrunken left eye. This could be secondary to an injury or severe infection. He appears comfortable with no obvious discharge or redness. If this changes or is painful an exam should be scheduled with a veterinarian. Frank is missing a right testicle. An exploratory was done to look for the right testicle but it was unable to be found. A testosterone level can be checked in 1 month at VHS.Do you have questions about this animal or are you ready to take the next step to adoption? Story
Meet Queenie! The belle of the ball or the Queen of Hip Hop more appropriately! She certainly hops up on anything, and she is a Hipster for sure! This is a party girl! She is a rough and tumble in your face player with other dogs, she would love running around and playing keep away and such with older kids, she is quick and agile! She does settle down and is crate trained which helps, but this girl certainly thrives on play and activity, she is game for anything and everything! Her recall is decent, she is ready for hiking, trails, trips to the beach, anywhere where her happy in your face attitude is welcome! She is the center of her universe and wants all others to join around her and have FUN! Queenie can handle a lot for her small size and big personality, she is fearless and ready for whatever the world or whatever sized ball is thrown at her! If you want an active companion but need to keep the size down, this is your girl! Kids over 5 years, teenagers, or active fun-loving adults - all good for Queenie - and other dogs too! A yard is highly recommended!

Story
Louie is a sweet boy looking for a loving family. He loves people and likes to snuggle and be pet. He walks well on a harness. He is also kennel trained. He would be great as only dog, playing with people and toys and greeting other dogs on walks. Louie gets along with other dogs when in a group environment. However, he resource guards (food and sometimes toys), so he needs to be fed separately from other dogs. He has the pug snork and snore. If you love sweet boys with squishy faces and pug energy, big Louie may be the dog for you-- send in an application!

Story
Willow is looking for a person who understands a drivey bully breed/ bulldog temperament like hers, who loves the quirks of a bull dog, The Willow situation: Willow has lived with a wonderful family for a couple of years now. She is still in need of a home who is ideal for her and her special needs but she has come a very very long way. She is deaf and has one eye, she has been through a lot of personal training, is also trained in hand signs and to use a stim collar (vibrate recall) etc.In the RIGHT situation with routine she mostly lays around all day, and is an easy bull dog 90%. She needs a home without other animals and while she absolutely loves kids, she is too strong for them at times. This may seem silly, but the problem is that while she is VERY tolerant of kids, she is also an extreme leg humper🤦🏼‍♀️.. yup! And sometimes she gets super excited and will grab onto a leg and scratch you up if you don't correct her and kiddos aren't strong enough to do this. She is very very strong. In a home with other animals she is very different- she has high drive and becomes neurotic and overstimulated and very difficult in a home with other animals. In the wrong home she can be difficult to manage so we are looking for the right situation now that we have her figured out. Crate trained, potty trained, great temperament. She thrives and requires a strong calm structure and leadership. She can be very submissive to her people but can also be pushy and dominant if you aren't managing her properly. It is hard to get her attention with her hearing special needs and loss of an eye, so her person needs to continue to work on her on e collar recall/ hand signals. She has already received lots of training. We want to ensure that her adoptive home will love and keep her for life.🐾 Go to www.k9ppr.org to send us an adoption application and tell us all about you and the home you would give sweet Willow! #k9ppr loves their bulldogs! Opt to adopt!-Treadmill trained-Can get too excited (overstimulate), like many bully breeds, so she thrives and requires a strong calm structure and leadership.- Too much prey drive for cats, and while she can now be around other dogs in a controlled setting, she should not live with other dogs. - Can be very submissive to her people but can also be pushy and dominant if you aren't managing her properly. - She is Active but calms down and chills. - She loves kids but right now we are looking for an adult home It is hard to get her attention with her hearing special needs and loss of an eye, so her person needs to continue to work on her on e collar recall/ hand signals. She has already received intensive training, and is awesome with her trainer, who will give her adopter free training. We want to ensure that her adoptive home will love and keep her for life which the communication benefits from training will help with.Being special needs her adoption fee is just a donation of your choice towards her medical costs with the agreement that you do some free training with her trainer. However please note that bull dogs are not low cost dogs to own!🐾 Go to www.k9ppr.org to send us an adoption application and tell us all about you and the home you would give sweet Willow! #k9ppr loves their bulldogs! Story
Meet Macaron Cookie, the sweetest pup in town! Hey, I'm Mac, but you can call me Mac for short – 2 years old, 34 lbs of pure handsomeness, and a mysterious mix of  WHO KNOWS LOL... something bulldog and something active     My hobbies include howling at the moon (it's a dog thing), stealing treats (who can resist?), and long ear scratches (seriously, it's my weakness). Despite my charming looks, I'm still perfecting my 'how' etiquette and basic commands. But hey, Rome wasn't built in a day, right?   I'm a playful guy, 2 years young, who loves short walks and can be your Netflix buddy for the night – crate-trained and all! Did I mention I'm a foodie? Training me is a breeze when treats are involved!     I've got a soft spot for chasing small animals (cats and squirrels, watch out!) and chewing on bones. Not a fan of loud noises or thunderstorms, but if you've got treats, I'm a brave boy!   Overcoming shyness with men?I I am working on it. Treats involved of course. A trainer to help me overcome my shyness with men is recommended.   Great with kids 5+ and other dogs – I'm basically a social butterfly! Ideal home? Someone who can shower me with love, attention, training, and a dash of patience. Currently chilling in foster care near Oakland, CA. Interested in making me your forever buddy? Shoot an email to beourpet@gmail.com Let's make memories and have a pawsitively amazing time together! #AdoptMac #MacaronMagic #PawsomePal       GENERAL INFO:   Housebroken?: Yes, we think so Crate Trained?: Yes Leash Trained?: Yes Rides Well in Car?: Yes Non-Shedding?: No Good with cats?: Chases Good with dogs?: Yes Qualifies for Seniors for Seniors?: NO regular adoption fee applies Umbrella of Hope does not have any strict rules on ages of children because all children are different, but our best approximation is that this animal would do best with children over the age of 5 Umbrella of Hope is an all-volunteer, donation-run, non-profit animal rescue based out of Pittsburg, CA that rescues animals from local shelters, places them in private foster homes, provides them with needed medical care and then finds them new homes.  Also, ask us about our seniors for seniors program, where we adopt animals 5 years or older to qualified homes with a $5 donation as an adoption fee. Story
We are excited to introduce you to the ever so handsome Blue Jay Bird! Blue Jay known in his foster home as BJ, is a boston terrier puppy born approximately on 12/17/2023 who is paralyzed in his rear legs since birth.     He is a ham . He is Mr. personality and loves to be around other animals and humans.   He is not incontinent. but has to wear diapers so he doesn't dribble peepee on his legs as he moves due to the pressure on his stomach. But most importantly he wears them to keep his tush safe from friction burns and wounds . He came to us with wounds on his bum, tail, back of his legs and feet. The back of his legs and tush were completely bald due to constant friction. His hair is now growing in as his wounds have healed due to wearing diapers to protect his skin. He needs to be on carpeted surfaces to help his ability to maneuver around in his own way.   He takes baths daily and loves them . he gets his bath a bit before bedtime where he sleeps without a diaper (we call this his naked time). He sleeps great through the night in his x pen where he has a soft bed, toys, a rug underneath, and his water. He does great in a sling where he can be carried around and he will watch the world and enjoys being in the conversation.   He gets the post dinner crazies and wants to play play play. At times he thinks he is in WWE and the star of Monday night raw and it is his responsibility to defeat the Undertaker .   He loves toys and fun things to chew on line bully sticks and bento balls. He has not had all of his puppy shots yet but has been neutered. He travels fine in the car with a bully stick to keep him entertained.   This guy is looking for a family (or person) who works from home, is retired, doesn't have to work, or can take him to work with them. If none of those apply then a babysitter when you will be gone for long hours. He does great in an office setting and stays on his dog bed and rug in the office.   He is being fostered in Sacramento California which is where he will be available to meet potential adopters. If you are interested in meeting and adopting this amazing fella, fill out an application at www.beourpet.org/adoptions.php please be as detailed as possible and let us know why you would be an ideal home for this sweet guy. He requires special attention and care to ensure he is safe, so let us know how you can provide that in your home.   If you are unable to adopt but want to help sweet BJ find the perfect home, please ***SHARE HIS STORY*** GENERAL INFO:   Housebroken?: Special needs, needs diapes Crate Trained?: Yes Leash Trained?: Not yet Rides Well in Car?: Yes Non-Shedding?: No Good with cats?: Yes Good with dogs?: Yes Qualifies for Seniors for Seniors?: No adoption fee for appropriate home Umbrella of Hope does not have any strict rules on ages of children because all children are different, but our best approximation is that this animal would do best with children over the age of 5 Umbrella of Hope is an all-volunteer, donation-run, non-profit animal rescue based out of Pittsburg, CA that rescues animals from local shelters, places them in private foster homes, provides them with needed medical care and then finds them new homes.  Also, ask us about our seniors for seniors program, where we adopt animals 5 years or older to qualified homes with a $5 donation as an adoption fee.
