Story
My name is Luke Duke and my foster family doesn't quite know how to describe me! I go also by the name Butterball, Porkchop, Lukie, "tiny dog" and "troublemaker." Ha! There is no doubt I am ADORABLE. We think I am a mix of a pug and perhaps a chihuahua. I have a curly q tail, an adorable round body and a very spunky personality. I am a busy body! I am active and curious. I like to be involved in everything! I am good with other dogs but even at my young age - only about 4 months and a tiny 8 to 9 lbs, I think I am a little boss! I will make it known if I want something or detest! I do love to play with my foster sibling, Oliver - I make him run around with me a lot. However, I think I would love to be an only too. I always ask to sit on a lap or be held but watch out - if I am not tired enough, I will be done in 5 seconds on your lap! However, I will always be by your side. I love toys, I love walks and I have a lot of stamina for a little guy. I live with kids 8+ and I adore them. I usually get in the way when they try to put on their shoes :). I really make my people smile with all my antics. ASCZ does NOT recommend an apartment for me. I can be vocal when I want to be and I will let you know if I hear a funny noise or if I think an intruder is coming! Oh - the boring stuff:I am crate trained and sleep through the night. I am still working on housebreaking but I will get there with consistency and routine; I'm pretty smart! I am a one of a kind little guy. Story
We would like to introduce you to Tina, the tiny girl who has battled a brave ordeal and come out so much stronger! Tina is doing great now, but when she first came to Home for Good, she started showing signs that she wasn’t well. Tina was not feeling well, struggling to eat and keep food down, and spent most of her time being very lethargic. We got her evaluated quickly and the vet determined a frightening problem—Tina had a liver shunt, which is an abnormal blood vessel that diverts blood around the liver rather than through it. She went through long, extensive, and expensive surgery to repair this dangerous condition, and after several months of recovery and TLC in an amazing foster home, she has recouperated and is now healthy ready to find her forever family. Tina is a three-year-old Pug mix and 18 pounds of pure fun. She is so ready to be the tiniest bestie you’ve ever had. Tina was rescued from Swainsboro, Georgia, and she quite likes to tell you all about her past, the day she is having, her hopes and dreams, really anything—she just likes to chat. Have you ever just wished for a little friend who wants to chitchat all day long, listen to your troubles, and give you the best advice? Your wish has been granted with Tina! Tina is also 100% certified in Puggle Snuggles. Seriously, this girl likes to be in laps. Your lap, your friend’s lap, the person sitting at the table across from you on the patio at brunch’s lap. She is such a friendly and sweet girl, so her lap snuggles are always welcomed. She also knows how to sit and walks well on a leash, so she’d be a great companion for romps around town, visits to see your friends, and trips for coffee (just make sure she has a chance to catch up with her favorite baristas). Tina would do great in a home with other dogs, cats, and kids. She would fit in comfortably anywhere and bring pure joy to any home she’s a part of. Won’t you come meet this girl and be #BestieGoals? Tina wants to see ya soon! Tina is spayed, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped. **Please note: completing an "adoption inquiry" via Adopt-a-pet/Petfinder does not constitute an HFG Dog Rescue adoption application. All adoption applications must be completed on www.hfgdr.org** HFG Dog Rescue is a 100 percent foster-based rescue located in Berkeley Heights, NJ with a sister location, The Almost Home Wellness Center, in Aiken, SC. All of our dogs are rescued from kill shelters in SC + GA and once ready for adoption live in loving local NJ foster homes until they find forever families of their own. Our fosters begin basic training, housebreaking, and leash-walking skills to help pair you with the perfect pup for life! In order to apply for adoption and set up an individual meet and greet with one of our dogs, please visit us at www.hfgdr.org. Find us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/HomeForGoodDogRescue.

Story
Midge is the perfect dog for someone who wants to be the center of this girl's universe. She LOVES her humans and will spend the day checking in on you & mostly sleeping on a bed at your feet. She has a funny little face as a result of some trauma that occurred before she was rescued - we think she was hit or kicked by someone. As a result, she has had a lot of work done on her jaw which has left her with a snaggletooth look and a tongue that hangs out of her mouth. Yet with all that she's suffered this girl is happy and loving and friendly, even if you're meeting her for the first time! She will walk right into your home as if she belongs there! If you're looking for a sweet little companion, look no further than Midge! Miss Midge is a Pug mix who is about 9 years old and weighs 17 pounds. She is a laid-back girl who is so easygoing that she'll even let you dress her up (if you find that fun). Midge is well behaved in the car and she really loves her daily walks through the neighborhood. When she sees you grab the leash, she comes running so you can leash her up. She has a jaunty little walk and doesn't act her age one bit. Midge is great at going up & down stairs, especially if it's mealtime - there's no better time of the day for her! Midge currently lives with 2 other dogs in her foster home and has no problem keeping up with them even though they are half her age! Midge would also do well as an only dog as she is very happy just being with humans. Midge listens well and, being food driven, is easily trained. She's smart, too - she knows to expect a treat when she comes inside from doing her business in the yard! Midge is housetrained, however, she may need a puppy pad if left alone for 6 hours. When she is left home alone, she has the freedom to roam the place – she does not like being crated and doesn’t need to be. Midge sleeps on her own bed through the night without incident but would love to sleep in the same room as her people if possible. She'll happily curl up on her own bed on the floor next to yours and you can hear her quietly snoring. Midge had 2 surgeries after being rescued to correct the damage to her jaw. Even after the surgeries, she has fistulas (holes) in the roof of her mouth. On a rare occasion kibble may get stuck in her nose but she usually just sneezes the food out so you don’t have to do anything about it.  Midge currently requires a tiny sprinkle of medicinal powder on her food to ensure her pancreas functions properly. She eats a Blue Buffalo kibble for seniors which helps keep her pancreatitis in check. It's not prescription food but is readily available at pet stores and on Amazon. Midge just LOVES her food & gobbles it right down, making sure she hunts down every single kibble that might escape her bowl! Although Midge gets along with dogs, she might bark when she encounters new-to-her dogs on a walk. She sounds like a goat when she barks – it is actually quite cute! If you'd like to meet sweet little Midge and provide her with a loving retirement home, please complete an adoption application at www.northstarpets.org and be sure to ask for MIDGE TX! She will be your best little companion - you won't be sorry!October 12, 2024, 8:16 pm

Meet Goon: Your Future Best Friend! Goon is a 3-year-old puggle weighing in at 18lbs. He has a heart full of love and enjoys lying next to you for snuggle. This playful pup adores jumping high especially into someone's arms. His favorite place is to sleep on the back of a couch or chair. In terms of house training, Goon has recently mastered going outside to do his business and sleeping in his crate quietly at night. Goon is deeply bonded to his owner and thrives on affection, greeting you with joyful hugs and kisses. His loving nature makes him a perfect companion for families and individuals alike. Goon is ready to bring his fun-loving personality and unwavering loyalty to his forever home. If you're looking for a furry friend to share your life with, Goon is the one for you! Goon is currently being fostered in Union City, NJ. His adoption fee is $500. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Chicklet is a 2-4-year-old, 22-pound female pug mix from Texas! She is a loving, happy and curious pup. She has adjusted very well during her time in Brooklyn. Chicklet enjoys snuggling, going on long walks, and taking naps.  Chicklet is working on her obedience training and learning “Sit”. During her time with her foster family, she sems to be house trained and used to the company of other humans and dogs. Chicklet is great on a leash and is very easy to walk around the city. She’s fine with cars, people and dogs and will try to smell everything she can lay her cute little nose on. Her forever family will need to continue working with Chicklet to reinforce and advance the progress she’s been making in her training. Chicklet has done well in her crate during the night and has been hanging around the apartment during the day. She does experience a little bit of separation anxiety at night but ends up falling asleep pretty quickly. She has only been left alone for very short periods of time during the day but did great each time. She loves to be cozy with her foster family and can often be found with her favorite avocado toast toy. Chicklet is looking for a loving family. She appreciates both downtime and active moments. She would be happy either with another dog or just with humans. She hasn’t been exposed to cats yet, but she seems like she does fine around anything- her only scare so far has been a roomba. Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Chicklet tested positive for ehrlichia and was treated with 21 days of doxycycline. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. To apply for Chicklet, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2154953##
