Story
Charlie is a 1.5-year-old Boston Terrier/Lab Mix weighing about 50 pounds — the perfect medium-sized bundle of pure love and goofiness. His story began at a mechanic’s shop out west, where kind people made sure he had food and water. Unfortunately, life on the street wasn’t easy for such a gentle soul. Other dogs picked on him, and sweet, slightly clueless Charlie never quite figured out how to stand up for himself. After one rough encounter, a good Samaritan got him veterinary care and kept him safe until he could find a real home. Now safe and thriving, Charlie's true personality shines: he is an absolute sweetheart who greets you by bouncing up like a 10-pound puppy trapped in a 50-pound body. Personal space? He’s never heard of it. Hugs are his favorite thing in the world. Charlie loves everyone he meets — adults, kids, strangers, visitors — if you have hands, he would like them on him, please and thank you. He also loves other dogs and is happy to have an easygoing canine companion. He’s so non-confrontational that even the resident cats chase him around the house… and he just goes with it. This lovable goof is playful, affectionate, and endlessly cheerful. He would thrive in a home that can give him attention, guidance, and lots of snuggles. If you’re looking for a loyal shadow, a cuddle champion, and a dog who will greet you like you’ve been gone for years every single time you walk in the door, Charlie is your guy. Charlie will arrive in Albion, NY in mid March and we would love to have a family waiting for him! * Please note: All dogs are rescues so we often do not know the actual breeds but use an educated guess to tell you what they most look like. Our adoption fee is $400 and unless otherwise stated all dogs and puppies have been spayed/neutered, microchipped, 4DX tested(if age appropriate), Put on heartworm/flea/tick prevention, age appropriately vaccinated, dewormed, vet checked and flown from Puerto Rico. For more information on adopting please email madrescueofwny@aol.com and fill out our online application at https://form.jotform.us/70927213338153

Story
Name: Oriole  Age: 6-9 months old Weight: 45lbs  Breed: Boston terrier Mix A sweet boy named Oriole came from a life of unimaginable abuse. Oriole was reportedly beaten 4–5 times a day for at least five months in his previous home. His most recent injury left him with a femoral fracture, an injury his veterinarian says could only have been caused by force comparable to that of a moving car. This has left Oriole in extreme pain, and he will soon be undergoing surgery to repair the damage. Oriole also lived confined to a roughly 5-foot area on a linoleum floor, rarely went outside, and was left to sit in his own feces and urine. Despite everything he has endured, Oriole’s spirit is still very much alive. About Oriole • Approximately 9 months old • Incredibly affectionate and goofy • Has done great with dogs and cats • Crate trained and does well when left alone • Can be anxious around new people and will need slow, patient introductions • Will thrive with plenty of enrichment, structure, and love Oriole has survived things no dog ever should—but he hasn’t given up on people. If you have a calm home, a big heart, and the patience to help a survivor heal, you could change Oriole’s life forever. If you think you can give Oriole all the love he deserves and would like to meet him, please go to Petstablished.com or follow the link below to complete an application to adopt. All of our animals are in foster homes. For the sake of our animals and foster families, you must have an approved application with references before you can meet them.  http://shelterchic.org/adopt/ In order to receive a speedy response to any inquiry, please email us directly at Info@ShelterChic.org or check out our website ShelterChic.org where you will find the answer to most questions about our adoption process and fees. Story
Meet Lisa (aka Luna) – the shy sweetheart with a big heart Lisa, affectionately called Luna in her foster home, is a gentle Boston Terrier mix looking for a patient, loving family to help her continue blossoming. She was surrendered by a breeder and is experiencing, for the very first time, what it’s like to live in a safe, cozy home. Every day she’s learning that people can be kind, and she’s slowly coming out of her shell. Luna’s favorite things in the world are her heated blanket, a soft bed, snuggles, and mealtime—she’s an enthusiastic eater and will never turn down a treat. While she’s still a timid girl with strangers and new dogs, she now greets her foster mom with excitement. When she gets excited, her happy feet shuffle in a way that’s pure joy to watch! She’s becoming more playful and adores the company of kids and other dogs. Cats don’t faze her either. Luna is a very quiet girl, not a barker, and she loves to nap between moments of exploration. Because so much of the world is still new to her, Luna is still learning about potty training. She uses pee pads reliably and has started to make progress with outside training.  If you’re looking for a sweet, shy companion who just needs a bit of patience and a lot of love, Luna will reward you with her trust and quiet affection. Watching her learn how to “dog” is as heartwarming as it gets. Personality & Characteristics: Temperament: Timid, gentle, affectionate once comfortable Good with: Dogs, kids, cats Energy level: 3/10 – loves to nap and lounge Barker: No – very quiet Appetite: Loves all kinds of food and treats Favorite things: Heated blanket, comfy bed, treats, and snuggles.  ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States and Korea. ##2402417##
