FOHA DOGS NEED YOU!!! Friends of Homeless Animals saves many dogs, sadly some are un-adoptable due to health or temperament. These dogs are safe in fostercare and will live out their lives safe and loved.   Please see all of our needy dogs & their stories at:  http://fohari.org/virtual-adoptions/#sthash.uUZaHnal.dpbs    Click on the donate button to make a donation below or on our website: WWW.FOHARI.ORG https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_flow&SESSION=s_rzfxkrOz1k3UQ9SnF41ng9fiePbbcNM3-FRwhi8bjTdXc8YpJ1GEGHPGe&dispatch=5885d80a13c0db1f8e263663d3faee8d333dc9aadeed3fe0b5b299d55fd35542Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application   HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see   HERE Age: 6 Years (as of 11/13/25) Weight: 23 lbs. (as of 11/7/25) Location: RI This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Mary Puppins (aka Itsy) is a littermate with her sister Vera Wang (aka Bitsy). These sweet girls will actually come running together when called by one name:  "Itsy Bitsy". While these beautiful little girls are not bonded, we would love to see them placed together if possible. They are described as precious, lovely and perfect houseguests. They play for a bit and then settle down and cuddle together. They have lived together their entire lives so far. They have unique personalities but are perfectly blended companions. They would be able to live solo but it would be wonderful if they could live together.  They are both small gals with huge hearts! Mary Puppins and Vera Wang are both described as sweet, goofy, affectionate, quiet and perfect houseguests. Mary Puppins is tan and white and while small is a little bit bigger than Vera Wang. Vera Wang who is brown and white is only 15 pounds. They are housetrained, ride well in a car and walk well on a loose leash. They get along with women, men, older and younger children as well as other dogs and cats. They are just great all around little gals. If you are looking for the perfect little companion or companion(s) it is your lucky day! The foster home where they lived for 5 months describes them as pint-sized pup perfection. These beautiful little ladies don't demand much and give back so much love and unlimited little kisses! Medical Note:  This dog has been treated for heartworm disease.  Untreated heartworm disease can cause lasting damage to the heart, lungs and arteries, and can affect the dog’s health and quality of life even after the parasites are gone, possibly presenting as medical complications and/or new conditions in the future.  Whenever possible, SOSARL advocates for following the American Heartworm Society guidelines for heartworm disease treatment as the safest and most effective methods; the active portion of this treatment protocol can take up to four months to complete.  This dog’s treatment has been completed and the dog has tested negative for microfilaria; the has been cleared to resume normal activity and is ready to be placed into an adoptive home.  This dog showed no symptoms of heartworm disease before or during treatment; future complications are not expected, but are not impossible.  Please ask your Adoption Counselor for the specific treatment protocol used for this dog.  Please check with your vet if you have any questions or concerns about this medical history. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see   HERE   for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website:   Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org) **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 6, 2025, 8:57 am
