Story
Thank you for your interest in Carly! Carly lives in an Alabama foster home and will transport to Her home when she is adopted. Adopters speak to the foster family, can FaceTime to see their puppy in real time, and request more pictures and video. Carly is spayed, rabies, a full series of four puppy vaccines, Bordetella, microchip, multiple deworming, and she has started flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. She is 100% vetted. Carly was born to a stray dog that showed up and had her puppies the next day. She is the smallest in her litter at 3 1/2 months old and only 10 pounds. We do not think Carly will ever grow over 25 pounds, maybe not that big. We have pictures of her mom, a smooth coat white terrier mix, about 33 pounds and a little on the thick side from her generous Foster Carly lives in a foster home with a family and their teenagers, her mama dog, and her littermates. She is familiar with the crate and stays dry all night. Adoption fee for Carly is $585 total. That fee includes the $175 that we have to pay to the Transporter. We do not own the van service and have to pay for every dog that we send out of state to home. Carly will also see the vet before she transports for a health check and a health certificate, at $65 at the vets office. We have been sending dogs to New England homes for over 15 years. Adopter should fill out the application online and we will be in touch with you. Thanks again for your interest in adopting! https://form.jotform.com/212574701956157

Story
Zeus is a10 year-old Brindle Boston mix, 33 pounds of muscle, with a gentle mouth; he's a very loving guy who loves to play with dogs his size.  He's a bit energetic for smaller dogs, but played with our 10# puppy every day. Zeus would love to have a 6 foot fenced yard with room to run and play; he used to jump our 4 foot fence.  He doesn't like cats and doesn't like having his nails cut. Up to date on shots, heartworm negative, crate and house trained.  He's a great dog. Please send your phone number to learn more about Zeus. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt. If you feel comfortable that the animal is a good fit for your home, at this point, you would submit a sum of $200 as a partial payment of the adoption fee as we process your application. From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit. If you are not approved to adopt, any payment sent to us would be promptly returned in full. At this point, we will remove the animal from our adoption sites and hold the animal for you while we check your references. If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Story
Adoption Donation   $    99            Located:     New England Age: approx   13   years old     Weight: 35  lbs Hospice home needed Meet Frank. We sprung this poor old man from a local shelter after he was found wandering stray, bleeding from his rectum, in a local community and no one was looking for him. We've named him Frank, and he's with our most experienced hospice foster mom because he has a tumor on his backside that is not treatable. And he's so happy to be out of the shelter in spite of his physical condition! He loves being close to his person, and is a snuggly, friendly boy. He's been to the vet and the vet concurs that Frank is a hospice dog that needs comfort and care in his retirement years. Frank deserves better than to die alone in a shelter! We're happy to be able to at least give him some love and comfort and would love to find a compassionate soul with a heart of gold to give him a loving home in his retirement years.  If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  illdoit2000@aol.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. Story
Beano is a 8yr old Boston Terrier, originally from Florida! he grew up in a nursing home, then moved through a bunch of houses. He’s dealt with some neglect from previous owners but he’s still the sweetest boy. Beano loves blankets and snuggles and long walks! He’s a barker, definitely vocal but it just means he’s happy. He has separation anxiety but he’s a good boy and he’s well trained. He’s a very food motivated little man. he’s afraid of other dogs and cats, because he’s been attacked before but is non-aggressive. He would do best in a very relaxed environment and being the only pet in the house seeing as chaos makes him timid.
