FOHA DOGS NEED YOU!!! Friends of Homeless Animals saves many dogs, sadly some are un-adoptable due to health or temperament. These dogs are safe in fostercare and will live out their lives safe and loved.   Please see all of our needy dogs & their stories at:  http://fohari.org/virtual-adoptions/#sthash.uUZaHnal.dpbs    Click on the donate button to make a donation below or on our website: WWW.FOHARI.ORG https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_flow&SESSION=s_rzfxkrOz1k3UQ9SnF41ng9fiePbbcNM3-FRwhi8bjTdXc8YpJ1GEGHPGe&dispatch=5885d80a13c0db1f8e263663d3faee8d333dc9aadeed3fe0b5b299d55fd35542Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc. Story
Adoption Donation   $    99            Located:     New England Age: approx   13   years old     Weight: 35  lbs Hospice home needed Meet Frank. We sprung this poor old man from a local shelter after he was found wandering stray, bleeding from his rectum, in a local community and no one was looking for him. We've named him Frank, and he's with our most experienced hospice foster mom because he has a tumor on his backside that is not treatable. And he's so happy to be out of the shelter in spite of his physical condition! He loves being close to his person, and is a snuggly, friendly boy. He's been to the vet and the vet concurs that Frank is a hospice dog that needs comfort and care in his retirement years. Frank deserves better than to die alone in a shelter! We're happy to be able to at least give him some love and comfort and would love to find a compassionate soul with a heart of gold to give him a loving home in his retirement years.  If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  illdoit2000@aol.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. Story
Hi my name is Murphy.  My foster mom Rachel added the marvelous because that is exactly what I am.  I am 2 years old and I weigh 37 lbs. Rachel first met me as a little puppy adopted by one of her friends.  My mom soon decided that she did not want me.  This began a period of bouncing around for me and unfortunately I ended up in the local shelter.  Rachel happened to be on their Facebook page and was so upset to see a familiar face.  She immediately called Critter Cavalry and I am now safe and sound with her under their care.  I am so relieved to have a familiar face to look to for guidance.  I truly am a marvelous boy.  Despite all the bouncing around I am an even keal kinda guy.  I love people and am great with the two bigger and older resident dogs.  I also love my 3 year old human foster brother.  I let him pet and hug on me and patiently accept his affection.  I am not a licky dog.  I stand or sit there and enjoy the attention.  I soak up all the human attention I can get.  I am housebroken, ride well in the car and walk well on a leash.  I am learning some commands.  My foster dad is currently working on sit.  As soon as I get that I will learn more.  I am very food motivated and love all the treats that come with training.  I am not learning too fast on purpose!!!  But I promise to give in soon.  I enjoy the one on one attention when he is teaching me things.  According to Rachel and my original mom I am a Boston Terrier/Beagle mix.  Don't see it well neither does Miss Vivienne so who knows?!  What is most important is that I am sweet, smart and will be an EXCELLENT family dog.  I am working on my crate training.  That is going a bit slowly as I am not a fan and am a bit scared in the crate.  I definitely do not like being in there when I am alone but know I need to learn.  What is important is that I am willing to learn and am a sweet boy.  If you are looking for a great family dog then you have found him.  I have been neutered, am current on all my shots, heartworm negative, microchipped and on preventative.  To be considered for my forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Murphy is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)       To be considered for Murphy's forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Murphy is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)October 10, 2024, 10:23 pm
