Story
Kona is a great boxer, 10 years old. Just got a Vet check up: healthy and has all her shots, several years left. Got her as a puppy, born 9/29/15. She's great with kids, adults, and other animals. She has been a dog that stays outside and then sleeps in a kennel in the garage when she was in CA. She does not like the cold at all, but AZ might be too hot for her outside all the time and with our new jobs we aren't able to give her more attention during the day. We love her so much and don't want to give her away, but we think she'd be better off with someone that doesn't mind her in the home. She is always gentle and the submissive one among other dogs, even when we introduced a new puppy lab to her for the last 4 years. She rarely barks, it's more of a short alerting bark, not aggressive. She's never bit anyone. Trained to sit, stay, lay down, and spin. Can provide cage, new bed with shade, leash, collar, bowls, and vet records. She would make a great and lovable companion dog.

Mo and his brother have major dominance problems and are fighting. Mo needs to be only dog in home. When it is just him and owner he is very affectionate, loyal, trainable and eager to please. He really is a great dog. He is dog selective. If Mo were our only dog we would gladly keep him but he has to be the only dog in home.We will assist with training and help with food and supplies.

Story
Meet Chanel — the tiny girl who once searched the streets just trying to survive. This adorable little “gremlin” was found wandering alone, desperately scavenging for food and wondering where her next meal would come from. You could see it in her eyes — she had been let down by the world far too many times. But despite the hardship she endured, Chanel never stopped being gentle, loving, and hopeful. Since coming into rescue, Chanel has completely blossomed. She’s gained healthy weight, learned that meals come regularly, and no longer eats as though it might be her last. Watching her slowly realize she is safe has been nothing short of heartbreaking and beautiful all at once. ❤️ Now living in a foster home, Chanel gets along wonderfully with other dogs and cats, and we anticipate she would do great with respectful children as well. She’s learning how to use the doggie door, does well in her crate, and truly just wants to make her people happy. More than toys or treats, Chanel wants what she’s likely never had before — a family to love her forever. She has the sweetest soul, the kind of dog that will follow you from room to room just happy to finally belong somewhere. After everything she’s been through, Chanel deserves a soft bed, full bowls, warm cuddles, and a home where she will never be abandoned again. Chanel’s $200 adoption fee includes her spay, microchip, vaccines, deworming, and testing negative for Distemper and Ehrlichia. If you think you could be the happy ending this precious girl has been waiting for, please fill out an application to arrange a meet and greet, followed by a home check. Please help us find Chanel the forever home she’s spent her whole life searching for.      July 5, 2026, 8:28 pm

Story
Hi there, future family! My name is Lafonda, and oh boy, do I have a tail&#226&#128&#145wagging story to tell you. I’ve been waiting a long time to share it with the special humans who will someday call me their own. Maybe—just maybe—that’s you. I’m about four years old, which means I’ve got the perfect mix of youthful pep and grown&#226&#128&#145up charm. Back in June of 2025, I was picked up as a stray in Yuma. I don’t remember much about how I ended up on my own, but I do remember how relieved I was when kind people scooped me up and kept me safe. I spent some time at the pound there, dreaming of the day someone would walk in, point at me, and say, “That’s the one.” It didn’t happen then… but that’s okay, because my journey wasn’t over. Now I’m living my best temporary life at Central Arizona Animal Rescue, and let me tell you—I’m soaking up all the love, treats, and playtime I can get. Still, every night when I curl up to sleep, I imagine what it will feel like to finally have a forever home. A place where I can stretch out on a soft bed, chase toys across the yard, and follow my humans around like the loyal shadow I’m destined to be. Let’s talk about the elephant in the room—or rather, the bald spot on my head. Yep, I’ve got one! When I was found, I had a wound there, but it’s all healed up now. The hair just never grew back, so I rock a permanent little shiny patch. Personally, I think it adds character. Some dogs have fancy markings; I have a built&#226&#128&#145in conversation starter. It makes me unique, memorable, and honestly kind of adorable. I’m all up to date on my vaccinations, and I’ve been microchipped so I’ll never get lost again. That part is really important to me. After spending who&#226&#128&#145knows&#226&#128&#145how&#226&#128&#145long wandering alone, the idea of always being connected to my people feels like the warmest, safest hug. Now, let’s get to the fun stuff—my personality. If you’re looking for a couch potato, I’m probably not your girl. I’m an active, playful, goofy, boxer&#226&#128&#145mix bundle of energy. I love to run, jump, wiggle, and especially play fetch. Oh, fetch. My absolute favorite. Throw the ball once, and I’ll think you’re neat. Throw it twice, and I’ll think you’re amazing. Throw it three times, and I’ll love you forever. I adore people. Hanging out with humans is one of my top hobbies. Whether you’re relaxing, working in the yard, or just wandering around the house, I’m happiest when I’m part of the action. I’m loyal, affectionate, and always ready to brighten your day with a tail wag or a goofy grin. I do need to mention one thing: I’m not good with cats. I know, I know—they’re cute and fluffy, but something about them just gets me too excited. So a cat&#226&#128&#145free home would be best for everyone involved. If you’re looking for a dog who will bring joy, laughter, and endless enthusiasm into your life, I think we might be a perfect match. I’ve been waiting since last summer for my forever family to find me. Maybe you’re the one who will finally say, “Come on, Lafonda. Let’s go home.” If you’d like to meet me—and I really hope you do—please email mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment. I’ll be here, tail wagging, ready to greet you with all the love I’ve been saving up. PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail.   All dogs are adopted on a first come - first served basis.
