Story
Hi,I’m Hadley! I’m an 8 week old girl with big paws, a bigger heart, and a whole 15 pounds of pure puppy love. I’m adventurous and love discovering new things—every leaf, shoe, and shadow is very important research. I’m clever (sometimes too clever), goofy in ways that make humans laugh without warning, and always ready to play, whether it’s tug, chase, or with my favorite toy. When I’m not exploring or being silly, I’m all about affection. I give the best puppy snuggles, love being close to my people, and will happily curl up for a nap after a day of fun. Basically, I’m equal parts brave explorer, playful clown, and sweet cuddle bug!

Story
Hi there, future family! My name is Lafonda, and oh boy, do I have a tail&#226&#128&#145wagging story to tell you. I’ve been waiting a long time to share it with the special humans who will someday call me their own. Maybe—just maybe—that’s you. I’m about four years old, which means I’ve got the perfect mix of youthful pep and grown&#226&#128&#145up charm. Back in June of 2025, I was picked up as a stray in Yuma. I don’t remember much about how I ended up on my own, but I do remember how relieved I was when kind people scooped me up and kept me safe. I spent some time at the pound there, dreaming of the day someone would walk in, point at me, and say, “That’s the one.” It didn’t happen then… but that’s okay, because my journey wasn’t over. Now I’m living my best temporary life at Central Arizona Animal Rescue, and let me tell you—I’m soaking up all the love, treats, and playtime I can get. Still, every night when I curl up to sleep, I imagine what it will feel like to finally have a forever home. A place where I can stretch out on a soft bed, chase toys across the yard, and follow my humans around like the loyal shadow I’m destined to be. Let’s talk about the elephant in the room—or rather, the bald spot on my head. Yep, I’ve got one! When I was found, I had a wound there, but it’s all healed up now. The hair just never grew back, so I rock a permanent little shiny patch. Personally, I think it adds character. Some dogs have fancy markings; I have a built&#226&#128&#145in conversation starter. It makes me unique, memorable, and honestly kind of adorable. I’m all up to date on my vaccinations, and I’ve been microchipped so I’ll never get lost again. That part is really important to me. After spending who&#226&#128&#145knows&#226&#128&#145how&#226&#128&#145long wandering alone, the idea of always being connected to my people feels like the warmest, safest hug. Now, let’s get to the fun stuff—my personality. If you’re looking for a couch potato, I’m probably not your girl. I’m an active, playful, goofy, boxer&#226&#128&#145mix bundle of energy. I love to run, jump, wiggle, and especially play fetch. Oh, fetch. My absolute favorite. Throw the ball once, and I’ll think you’re neat. Throw it twice, and I’ll think you’re amazing. Throw it three times, and I’ll love you forever. I adore people. Hanging out with humans is one of my top hobbies. Whether you’re relaxing, working in the yard, or just wandering around the house, I’m happiest when I’m part of the action. I’m loyal, affectionate, and always ready to brighten your day with a tail wag or a goofy grin. I do need to mention one thing: I’m not good with cats. I know, I know—they’re cute and fluffy, but something about them just gets me too excited. So a cat&#226&#128&#145free home would be best for everyone involved. If you’re looking for a dog who will bring joy, laughter, and endless enthusiasm into your life, I think we might be a perfect match. I’ve been waiting since last summer for my forever family to find me. Maybe you’re the one who will finally say, “Come on, Lafonda. Let’s go home.” If you’d like to meet me—and I really hope you do—please email mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment. I’ll be here, tail wagging, ready to greet you with all the love I’ve been saving up. PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail.   All dogs are adopted on a first come - first served basis. Story
Grady is a dog who should be strong, athletic, and thriving, but the shelter environment has taken a toll on him. A few months ago, during a temporary closure, we responded to a heartbreaking call: an evicted home where three dogs were left behind. Grady and his two pittie sisters came to us that day, and he’s been waiting ever since.Grady LOVES toys, lives for some good back scratches, and truly enjoys being loved on by someone he trusts. He does well with mellow female dogs, but isn’t comfortable with dominant male dogs, and men make him a bit nervous. He takes time to warm up, but once he does, he’s the kind of dog who becomes your best friend. Grady previously lived with adults and would be better suited in an adult only household.Grady needs a patient, understanding person who knows that a pittie who’s been through hard things needs time to build trust. He is appointment-only for meet & greets, so if you can foster or adopt and give Grady the chance he so desperately needs, please call us.

Story
Darwin is an outdoorsy guy looking to go on an adventure! He loves to go on car rides and would make a great hiking partner. He`s not too fond of little ones (he didn`t get along with the youngest kid in his previous home), prefering to hang out with the big kids. He has lived with big dogs before and seems to like all the dogs he has met here in the shelter. When he`s not going on adventures, his favorite past time is cuddling on the couch. One of Darwin`s special skills is being crate-trained.
