Allman is the definition of a Boxer, from his looks to his personality traits! This 8-year-old boy is always looking for opportunity to play, and loves making everything a game. He is a great ball player and may not always bring it back, but his enthusiasm keeps the game going. He enjoys carrying toys around wherever he goes, squeaky toys are super fun, but Kong toys are also wonderful. He also has a prankster side with shoes and likes to untie your laces when you are walking. He is loyal to his friends here at Satchel's but can be a bit picky. He takes a little time to get to know people and, although he is high energy, he prefers a calm first-time meeting. Allman has a Woof Pack leader here at Satchel's and they are working on his acceptance of new people. Once accepted, Allman is a loving, playful, intelligent boy who can't wait to be with you. He walks very well on a leash and loves going on adventures. He knows his basic commands and with treats, he can do them with a swiftness. Allman would be the perfect canine companion for someone who loves being active or has a love for and understanding of the Boxer breed. Looking like a hairless wonder, is our boy Brodie. While his looks may not do him justice, this little guy has a heart of gold. Coming from a pretty poor background, it has taken some time to get this pup used to being just that, a dog again. He was terrified of water, avoiding anything other than his water bowl. His skin was in desperate need of healing, and medicated baths were a top priority. With the help of staff and volunteers, his skin is looking so much better, even if his hair has not come back. He was also not very social, and did not understand what we were doing in just an attempt to pet him. He is now showing affection with those he trusts, looking forward to those butt scratches and head pets that he feared in the beginning. He absolutely loves food, which is helpful in his training. He is muzzle trained, after working hard with a staff member, which has made certain things easier for both Brodie and those helping. He has been in playgroup and has made quite a few canine companions. We would love to continue watching Brodie progress and be a confident, caring, loving dog that we all know he is. Brandy ended up at Satchel's after her owner surrendered her. They had added another dog to the family, who Brandy didn’t get along with. So they got rid of Brandy, their original dog :( Brandy takes her time warming up to you. Maybe because of how she was dumped. She wants to know you’ll be good to her before she opens her heart to you. Once Brandy gets comfortable with you her personality comes out. She is playful and loves to give you hugs! Brandy walks very well on the leash, and she knows basic tricks: sit, lay down and shake. Brandy may be best suited as the only dog in the house because she has shown reactivity towards them. But, there is a possibility that with the right pairing she will thrive with a doggy sibling!

You know who the coolest dog is? DUSTY! This good boy is so overlooked. He's friendly with everyone he meets, every dog and even cats! He's cool as a cucumber, but also has a playful spirit. Dusty is a 6 year old Boxer mix who is 77lbs of mushiness and love. He's very affectionate, will kiss a total stranger and blend right in with all of your animals. He has also been to several dog bars and loved them! We just can't say enough good things about him. He's in South Tampa and all of his vet care has been taken care of. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative. He came to us at 114lbs and is down to 77lbs and looking amazing. Trinity is sweet, loving, and a true boxer. We often hear that she does not look like a pure bred boxer. We were confirmed by the breeders and our vet that she is not a mixed breed. We purchased her from a breeder at 4 months old. She has been an amazing dog but we feel like she deserves a better home. My husband and I have 4 teenagers and a toddler. We work long hours. The dog is not properly taken care of by our children, and though we love her, we want her to be somewhere where she gets lots of attention and can run around in a big yard or dog park every day.

Honey is a great dog with a wonderful personality. She’s loving and VERY playful. She’s been in our home for almost three years and has been around our little girls (5 & 3) the whole time. She loves playing and walking. She would be a great dog for an active family who can walk her daily or has a large yard. Things to note about honey: she has a hard time getting along with our other dog sometimes. Most of the time they are fine but they have gotten into a few scraps that have hurt our other dog. Maybe 3-4 over the course of 3 years but enough for me to say she should probably be in a single dog home. She also can have anxiety with changes and doesn’t like the washer and dryer. She needs to be in a home that can respect these notes I’ve given.

Rizzo was adopted from our local animal rescue shelter in 2020 at just one years old and has been in the family since. She loves to play but it very obedient and loves affection. She is amazing with children and loves to play catch and race around. She has never gotten aggressive or bitten anyone or any other animal. Rambunctious, full of life, and even a bit of a trickster, our outgoing boy Tucker is a whirlwind of energy. He has done both obedience training and agility training. He has worked with a few of our volunteers, and has a special bond with his Woof pack member. He is incredibly smart and once his zoomies are out, takes directions very well. He walks very well when he has his harness on and long walks are welcomed. Tucker loves to jump in the pool to cool off or even just a nice spray down with the hose. Tucker has been interested in other canine buddies, and has had a female yard buddy. When it's time to relax, he loves curling up on a blanket. While Tucker is amazing, he still has a lot of training to go in order to be the greatest he can be. Tucker loves play time, but is very stingy with his toys, treats and food. He has shown a protective nature with these things particularly and needs patience and reassurance that his precious things will continue to be his. It is because of his resource guarding that we encourage a more seasoned dog owner for this extroverted boy, with an active life style and a fenced in yard for him to run around in. * Medical Special Needs * Meet Crystal. What do you see when you look at Crystal? An overbred momma dog? A dog that had a horrible person chop off her ears? A dog that was left inside a crate at an abandoned property? You know what we see? Unconditional love, this girl wants affection and love so badly. She craves to be told she is a good girl, a warm leg to lean on. She is beautiful to us both inside and out. You will see that too when you come meet her and give her a chance. She enjoys a bath and belly rub, hugs and a romp in the yard but her favorite thing to do is hang out with people who love her. Sometimes it will take her a little while to warm up to new people, but the wait is so worth it. She is just a big love bug. She is not fond of other dogs. She can go for walks with them but not exist together in a house or come face to face. She is obsessed with cats so if you are interested in her, you can't have any of those either. She does have cancer (cutaneous hemangiosarcoma). It manifests itself with sores and blood blisters on her stomach and these will pop occasionally and bleed. Eventually the disease will go to her spleen. Her survival can be a few years with this type of cancer by the time it has spread to the spleen. Looking for a handsome stud muffin with the best smile in town? Well look no further, our buddy Andi is not only easy on the eyes with his white and grey coat but his smile is enough to brighten anyone's day! This fun loving boy loves to play and have a good time. He adores having all kinds of toys but his favorite is a basic tennis ball. His favorite spot at Satchel's is the agility play yard and he has mastered the jumps, A-frame, see-saw and tire tunnel! As a food motivated guy, he has proven quick to learn new behaviors. He is extremely loving and wishes only to spend time with those he loves. When you join his circle, there is no better greeting than from Andi, he always lets you know how much he cares by leg leans, playful jumping and kisses. Andi has a Woof Pack leader here at Satchel's and they are working on his acceptance of new people. He is a big supporter of leisurely strolls and walks very well on leash. He does get distracted a bit, wanting to catch lizards he finds here and there, but listens when it's time to rest. He loves car rides and with that giant smile and ears flopping in the wind, you can't resist sharing that happiness. This gentle soul does need patience when meeting him the first time or two, since his trust is not so easy to gain. He is protective of the people he cares most about and would do anything for them. He also is not the fondest of other dogs and would prefer to be your main squeeze rather than share.
