Story
Four-year-old Brandy is a beautiful girl looking for a calm home. Brandy was extremely leery of meeting new people when she first arrived at Satchel’s but the commitment and love of her Woof Pack leader has given her so much more confidence. Brandy and her WP leader have been going to our off-site events and meeting new people is now much easier for Brandy. She is always excited for the next adventure, and rides well in the car. Brandy can be a little aloof at first, but once she’s comfortable with you, her personality comes out and she shows off her playful side. Playing fetch with her friends in our shelter yard is a big plus for this little girl. She has recently started Fitpaw training now offered at Satchel's and is showing off her intelligence. Heading home for an afternoon visit with her WP leader, Pam, makes for one happy, playful pup. Brandy doesn’t seem to care for other dogs and would likely prefer to be your only canine companion. This pint-size gal (approximately 45 lbs.) is ready for adventure! She walks great on a leash, knows all the basic commands and is just pure FUN! She might take a bit to warm up, but give this girl time and you will be the lucky recipient of her love!!! For an appointment to meet Brandy, please submit the adoption application (no commitment) found at satchelslastresort.org.

❤️ Rolly is still waiting for his forever family ❤️ It’s hard to believe this big, beautiful boy has been with us for 3 months without a single application. 🥺 Rolly is the kind of dog you meet once and wonder how anyone could resist him. At about 2 years old and 81 pounds, Rolly is a big guy with an even bigger heart. Those gorgeous hazel eyes get attention everywhere he goes, and his tall, sturdy build has us guessing Weimaraner, Lab, Mastiff—or maybe a little bit of everything! Whatever his mix, there’s no denying he’s one handsome boy. 😍 Rolly is fun, playful, affectionate and wonderful with dogs of all sizes. He absolutely loves his canine friends and has a blast running, playing and being part of the pack. He also loves people and will happily soak up every bit of attention and affection you’re willing to give. He’s an active guy who would love a family ready to include him in their adventures - walks, playtime, training, zoomies and plenty of couch cuddles afterward. He knows “sit,” is housetrained and, like many smart dogs, occasionally decides he has a better idea than you do. 😂 Rolly is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative. 📍 Sarasota, FL 💲 Adoption fee: $300 Rolly has been waiting patiently. He just needs someone to finally see what we see - a big, goofy, loving dog who is ready to be someone's best friend. ❤️ 👉 Apply to adopt: www.love4pawsfl.org/adopt

Meet the Marvelous 6! ❤️🐾 These six chunky, fluffy babies are ready to find families of their own! Rescued from a rural shelter's euthanasia list, these puppies are getting their second chance at life, and now it's time for their happily ever after! At around 12 weeks old and already weighing about 20 lbs each, these are some BIG babies! 😍 We expect them to be 60–70 lbs or more when fully grown, so get ready for a whole lot of puppy love! Their breed mix is anyone's guess, but we're thinking there's probably some Labrador and Pointer in there. They have adorable spotted coats with lots of ticking and even rear dew claws. Whatever their mix, they're pretty darn cute! There are 4 girls and 2 boys, and each one is ready to find a family to call their own. All six are fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped. 📍 Located in Sarasota, FL 💰 Adoption fee: $350 🐶 We do not adopt siblings together. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply at www.love4pawsfl.org. Once approved, you can meet any of the puppies still available! Already have an application with us? Email info@love4pawsfl.org to have it pulled up. Let's get these marvelous babies into the loving homes they deserve! ❤️

Andee was a rescue which we adopted around 10 weeks old. She has a lot of love to give. She does well with other large dogs. Does not socialize well with small dogs. She has some food protection issues. There needs to be care taken around feeding time with other pets and human household members.

Story
Feeling down in the dumps? We have the remedy for that, and her name is ChaCha Coconut. She is a spunky senior who makes her foster parents laugh every day. As a matter of fact, you can not look at this nugget without smiling. She is one of the happiest, most goofy dogs you will ever meet. She is pretty much a couch potato and is a master at making herself comfortable but she also likes to go on shorter walks on the property. Then there is the icing on the cake, she is great with other dogs. So if you are looking for someone to brighten your every day, fill out an adoption application so we can then set up a meet and greet. If you have any particular questions prior to filling out the application, you can send an email to: caroline@satchelslastresort.org https://satchelslastresort.org/adopt/

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Shadow's story. Information provided by his foster parents. Two years ago, Don and Evelyn went to a shelter to meet a new possible foster dog. He was a handsome, brindle boy but he had no use for them at all. Didn't want anything to do with them. However, they decided they were ready to take on this challenge and give then Drax (the destroyer), now Shadow, a chance at life. Shadow jumped into the car fine and laid down in the backseat. Ten minutes into the car ride, Don and Evelyn were quite surprised when Shadow got up, went over to Don and kissed his ear and then went over to Evelyn and kissed her ear as if to say "I think you might be okay". However, they quickly discovered that although very smart dog and well trained, Shadow was very wary of strangers. When you reached out to Shadow, he appeared to think he was about to be hit, and developed a defensive system leading them to think that he was likely trained with the fear and punishment method. A short time after taking Shadow home, they reached out to Satchel's to take ownership of Shadow while he remained in their care. Fast forward 2 years, and thanks to the help of Satchel's, Jeff Joyce and his team, and events they attended with neighbors and friends, along with lots of love and patience, Shadow has become a wonderful, fun loving boy. Shadow has learned that strangers are not his enemy and that he can trust them, have lots of fun with them, and get loving, treats and petting back. Although still a little standoffish at first, he will take an hour or so to check you out, and then will warm right up and make you his good friend. Shadow, now 4 years old, is ready to find his forever home with a loving family who will give him a little time to adjust to a new home and feel safe. For an appointment to meet Shadow, please submit the adoption application (no commitment) and an adoption counselor will contact you.
