Story
Melon came to the Haven of the Ozarks with another dog by the name of Cantaloupe they are two very shy, reserved pups that were found roaming a neighborhood. We later found out that their owner had passed away and that's why they were out roaming, probably in search of food and water. But lucky for them they picked the perfect neighborhood to seek out their basic needs because once everyone noticed them, they all came together and began putting out food, water and trying to gain their trust. This process took about two months because these two caught on to what people were trying to do and would not go into traps, they had set for them so they could get them to us so we could help these sweet pups try and understand that not all people are bad and that we just wanted to help. We at the Haven of the Ozarks believe that with a lot of time, basic training and patience that these two sweeties can grow to trust someone and be able to eventually live the happy healthy life's they deserve. We think that it would need to be someone that is willing to come out for a few days and spend time with them in their kennel and shower them with treats and love to gain trust before they went home just to make the transition from our shelter to a home easier on them. We've recently brought both pups into the office to hang out and Melon warms up much more quickly than his sister. His estimated DOB is 7/19/21. All of our pets are fixed, up to date on their vaccinations, and microchipped. The Haven of the Ozarks is open form 9am-4pm, seven days a week. For more information, please email us at havenozarksanctuary@gmail.com, or give us a call at 417-835-3647....All pets have lifetime sanctuary at Haven of the Ozarks. If they cannot remain with their adopter, they must be returned to the Haven.Adoption fees are as follows: Puppies under the age of 6 months - $150Dogs weighing 30 pounds and less - $200Dogs over 6 months old- $90Cats under the age of 6 months old - $75Cats over the age of 6 months old - $65

Story
This absolute dreamboat is a 1-year-old Boxer mix named Scuppers! He is super sweet and friendly and loves to receive attention. He's an active boy who loves to go on adventures, even if it is just a walk around the block. He'd love a fenced yard where he can run and play to his heart's content. Scuppers has been in play groups here at the shelter and does well with other dogs after a meet and greet! He would prefer no kids under 14, as they are just too little for him! He's a big boy and doesn't always know where his body is going. He is bound to give you unconditional love and loyalty for the rest of his life if you bring him home!

Story
Abby is an 8 month old Boxer/Terrier mix who is a playful girl! She is going to let her excitement show! She is always ready for a game of fetch, a jog, or a hike. She would love to have an active owner who is going to be fully present and take her on lots of adventures! She does well with kids, but she can get very excited and knock over the little ones by mistake, so a toddler or younger is not ideal. She would also need to have a meet and greet with any dogs in the home to make sure they get along and will be good play buddies!

Story
Marshall is a super sweet 8 month old Boxer mix. He is a very special boy and has stolen everyone's hearts at the shelter. He loves to run and play, especially wrestling with his toys and blankets. He has beautiful baby blue eyes that stand out so well with his bright tan and white coat! He's definitely a looker! Marshall has a condition called Megaesophagus, which means he has decreased mobility in the muscles of the esophagus, the tube that connects the mouth and stomach. To digest food and drinks properly, Marshall needs to sit up while eating and drinking. We have a Bailey chair for this purpose that is included when you adopt Marshall! This is a condition that needs to be closely monitored. Our clinic staff would be happy to discuss with potential adopters how to make sure he is cared for.
