Story
Kody is one of the most affable and friendly pups that we have met. He is friendly towards all humans and plays well with other dogs if given a slow introduction, regardless of how big they are. He is fast friends with his considerably larger foster sister (a German Shepherd) and has no problems "holding his own" when they play together. Kody is extremely well-behaved and a perfect gentleman in his crate, especially if he has something indestructible to chew on. In the short time we've had him, he's quickly learning his basic commands and improving on "loose leash" walks. While there are no children in his foster household he has been friendly, calm and interested in the children he has met at social engagements. Kody has learned to sit, watch & wait. He's housetrained and walks nicely on a leash, barring squirrel sightings or other extraordinarily tantalizing distractions. He's a champ on car trips, as he sits quietly and doesn't even get carsick on our mountain roads. Kody's perfect human(s) will be willing to take him for a decent walk and/or play outside a few times every day. A dog for all households, Kody would be equally happy with doggy sibling(s) or as an only dog. At 40 lbs, Kody is the perfect medium-sized pooch. According to our breed identifier app, he's a Carolina Dog/ Staffie mix, but his foster family sees potential tiny Boxer or a giant Chihuahua! Kody is estimated to be between 1-2 yrs old. He's been vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. Interested in a great pup to enrich your life? Hello everyone! Let's talk about this super snazzy bundle of love. This is Oskar. He is a total ham. He loves to give hugs, snuggle, lay around in the hammock with his people, and play. Mostly, he loves to play. He has more energy than the Energizer Bunny. He is great with other dogs, and with cats. He is a little afraid of men and needs time to warm up. He is living it up in foster care learning the ropes of being a best boy. He is doing great with his house training. Oscar cannot wait to find his perfect furever family. **Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, vet visits, deworming, and shots. ** Adoption Application: mercyrescue.org

Story
Bella came to us after being kept in a crate that was too small for her. It took her awhile to learn how to walk correctly, play, and do all the things puppies do. Now she runs around with the other dogs like a pro. She does good with dogs and kids. She is very curious about cats but has not been in a situation where we can tell how good she is alone with them. She is such a loving dog! She is potty trained and loves toys. She is very energetic and would love someone that wants to play. She walks on a leash and has learned the basic commands. This sweet girl is very observant and curious, she doesn't miss a thing. **Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, vet visits, deworming, and shots. ** Adoption Application: mercyrescue.org

Story
Tyson is the sweetest senior dog the adoption center has to offer! This 10 year old boy is looking for a good home to live out his golden years with excellent treats and the best couches to nap on. Tyson is also a total heartthrob, easily nabbing the title of most handsome dog in the adoption center, just look at those eyes! That's two different records that Mr. Tyson is currently holding. He does well with other dogs, loves to be pet, and is great on walks. This guy can do it all! Even though he's 10 years old, he's still spry as can be and will easily keep up with you on a nice hike or evening stroll. If you want to meet Tyson, come to AHS today!

Story
Bizou is a 4 year old energetic, sweet beast. She has basic training and good house manners. Extremely loyal and protective, she is the best cuddle buddy and is very emotionally tuned with humans. Bizou loves to sleep in late, be wrapped up in blankets, go camping, play fetch and go swimming, she will follow you anywhere. This dog requires an owner that is willing to put in training and socializing time to help her gain confidence and healthy redirection techniques. Bizou is reactive with other dogs, especially small ones, although after proper introductions and adequate space she is a bit awkward but plays wells with big dogs. As well as dog reactivity Bizou has some behavioral issues involving resource guarding and can be overly protective of her owner. She is a great listener and is very food motivated and is ready to work with someone who has plenty of time and love to share.
