I was microchipped, but the chip was not registered and therefore unable to be traced back to my owner. My brother Goblin and I were found as strays in the Salem area near Wal Mart. We were finally able to be captured by the Humane Agent after a couple of days on the run. To say that we were extremely neglected would be an understatement. We were covered in fleas and ticks. We had missing hair and flea allergy dermatitis. We had apparently been housed in small areas and were caked in feces and urine... Aside from all of that, we have had no real socialization before making our way into the pound. It appears that we haven't been handled at all. Neither of us knew how to walk on a leash and we were didn't know much about receiving attention and affection. We have been getting lots of work with leash training and we're both doing extremely well. We're also learning how to be loved and we're absolutely flourishing. I will need a family that can help continue giving me plenty of socialization and training. I will definitely need work with housebreaking. I have probably never had any type of training at all, especially not housebreaking or crate training, so I will need a patient and understanding family. I absolutely love other dogs! I love to play and a home with other dogs that are well behaved and trained would be great for me. If you're looking for a perfect dog, I'm probably not it, but if you have some patience and a lot of love to give, you might be able to make me the perfect dog for you! Please consider adopting me. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Teeka, a 1 year 7 month old spayed female, Boxer mix, 42lbs. She is in a foster home in Houston, TX and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! The amazing Teeka is on the hunt for her forever home. She specializes in best friending with an emphasis on playing! She currently lives with several larger dogs and is learning to respect their boundaries. She LOVES to play with them, but does need some help realizing when her foster siblings are ready to stop. She has not met any cats, so we’re not sure how she’d react to a feline sibling. Her foster mom says she’s done well meeting new human friends and is learning not to jump on them. Because of this and her high energy levels, we do recommend a home with older dog savvy kids. This smartie is house and crate trained! She sleeps quietly in her crate and is kenneled whenever her foster family is out of the house. We don’t recommend leaving her out unsupervised as she may help herself to whatever she finds in the kitchen. Teeka’s love for food is next level and she will try to sneak a bite from you or the other dog’s bowls, but has shown no signs of resource guarding. She is still working on her leash manners, but is getting better every day! She gets a little too excited when she sees other dogs, but is learning to calm down and continue on her walk. This happy girl absolutely loves toys! She knows where the toy basket is and will get one so you can join in the fun. She’s a huge fan of fetch and tug of war! Teeka is learning the joys of relaxing too. She loves to lay on your legs and get some pets and give some kisses. She’s happy just to be near her humans. Teeka is a young pup with boundless energy that will thrive in a home with a yard, daily exercise, training and patience. Meet a playful, loving, and loyal sidekick: Samson Samson had a crappy start to life. He was not properly cared for - tied to a staircase. No vet care after he fell down the stairs. It has left him with an injury to his right back leg (you may notice the slight shortness of it). Multiple vets have evaluated the leg and recommend keeping it given his use of the leg and lack of pain. He gets around great and has managed to jump up on the kitchen counter of his foster's home. He has since learned than counters are not part of a fun parkour obstacle course. Point being: the leg works just fine!! Despite his neglectful background, this ~11 month old boxer mix is 48lb of joyful energy. With a beautiful brindle coat and a personality to match, he brings enthusiasm to everything he does! Whether it’s sprinting laps around the yard, showing off his impressive jumping skills, or simply soaking up time with his favorite people. Samson is very friendly and playful, the kind of dog who greets each day like it’s the best one yet. His zest for life is contagious, making him a great match for an active or somewhat active home that appreciates a little (or a lot of) fun. When he gets his bursts of energy out, Samson loves to sit on the couch with a toy, bone, or chew. He’s a loyal sidekick at heart who loves to stick by your side after a good play session. He’s a great eater, mostly potty trained (occasional accidents if not taken out regularly), crate trained, and thrives with space to run and explore. A fenced yard would be his dream setup, where he can stretch his legs, have a zoomie session, and then plop down in the grass with a toy. He loves other dogs, although some of them don't always appreciate his exuberant play styles. We think Samson would do fine as the only dog or in a house with multiple dogs. Samson is not currently living with cats, but we feel he would likely not do well with them. Kids 5 and up would likely be a wonderful part of Samson's forever life. He has met several kids and done so well with them. He loves giving kisses and making kids giggle! Samson would be in heaven running around a yard or playing fetch with a small human of his own to grow up with. Brindle Pitt looking for a new forever home. We rescued him a little over 2 years ago and never had a problem. (He did show aggression at the rescue place he was at towards other dogs, they believe he was used for fighting as he has a few scars on his legs but he was found on the side of the road) He did a meet and greet with our 2 little pups (chihuahuas) with no problem (his aggression was towards larger dogs) he has lived with them for almost 3 years with no problem. He just recently started showing small signs of aggression and we came home to my little pup dead. He had killed him. he just hasn’t been the same since. He shows absolutely no signs of aggression with kids or people at all only other animals. He would do great in a home where he is by himself.
