Story
Meet a playful, loving, and loyal sidekick: Samson Samson had a crappy start to life. He was not properly cared for - tied to a staircase. No vet care after he fell down the stairs. It has left him with an injury to his right back leg (you may notice the slight shortness of it). Multiple vets have evaluated the leg and recommend keeping it given his use of the leg and lack of pain. He gets around great and has managed to jump up on the kitchen counter of his foster's home. He has since learned than counters are not part of a fun parkour obstacle course. Point being: the leg works just fine!! Despite his neglectful background, this ~11 month old boxer mix is 48lb of joyful energy. With a beautiful brindle coat and a personality to match, he brings enthusiasm to everything he does!  Whether it’s sprinting laps around the yard, showing off his impressive jumping skills, or simply soaking up time with his favorite people. Samson is very friendly and playful, the kind of dog who greets each day like it’s the best one yet. His zest for life is contagious, making him a great match for an active or somewhat active home that appreciates a little (or a lot of) fun. When he gets his bursts of energy out, Samson loves to sit on the couch with a toy, bone, or chew.  He’s a loyal sidekick at heart who loves to stick by your side after a good play session. He’s a great eater, mostly potty trained (occasional accidents if not taken out regularly), crate trained, and thrives with space to run and explore. A fenced yard would be his dream setup, where he can stretch his legs, have a zoomie session, and then plop down in the grass with a toy. He loves other dogs, although some of them don't always appreciate his exuberant play styles. We think Samson would do fine as the only dog or in a house with multiple dogs. Samson is not currently living with cats, but we feel he would likely not do well with them. Kids 5 and up would likely be a wonderful part of Samson's forever life. He has met several kids and done so well with them. He loves giving kisses and making kids giggle!  Samson would be in heaven running around a yard or playing fetch with a small human of his own to grow up with. If you’re looking for a loving, spirited companion who will keep life light and full of laughter, this brindle boy is ready to meet you. Samson can go home today to an approved adopter. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and negative for heartworm and lyme. Apply at pawsacrosspittsburgh.com/adopt. KL 16182 ##2726833##

Who's that wonderful Pearl? Pearl is a 4 month old 17lb. female boxer/pug mix.  Since arriving from the shelter to her foster's home she has gone from shy and reserved to a friendly, playful and well rounded cuddle bug..  She loves to play hard and snuggle even harder, making her a joyful and loving addtion to any family.  Pearl is currently living with both dog and cat foster siblings and gets along wonderfully with eveyone. Pearl is super smart, already mastering "sit" and "come", she has been working hard on potty training and doing great. She is crate trained and typically sleeps through the night with no accidents.  She walks nicely on a leash, though she can occasionally get startled by sudden loud noises or barking dogs.  With her fantastic temperament and sweet nature, Pearl is ready to fill your home with unconditional love. Story
Meet Coral Coral is a beautiful brindle Boxer/Pug mix who is just about four months old and already proving what a wonderful little companion she can be. At 16 pounds, she’s still very much a puppy, but she’s at that wonderful age where she’s learning quickly and beginning to discover her good puppy manners. Coral is affectionate, playful, and loves a good cuddle. She enjoys playing and wrestling with the other dogs in her foster home, with the occasional puppy zoomie thrown in for good measure. She’s wonderful with children and would love a family who will continue helping her grow into the happy, confident dog she’s meant to be. She’s doing really well with both house-training and crate-training and even sleeps through the night like a champ. She’s still learning what this whole leash thing is about, but with patience and practice, we’re confident she’ll catch on. Coral has so much potential. She’s sweet, fun-loving, affectionate, and ready to grow up alongside a family who will love her for all the years to come. She has not been cat-tested. If you’re looking for a puppy who will give you plenty of love, plenty of laughs, and a lifetime of companionship, Coral may just be your girl.  She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and will be available for adoption starting 8/23. Apply directly at www.pawsacrosspittsburgh.com/adopt through Paws Across Pittsburgh, Springdale, PA 15144, KL#16182. ##2819768##

Meet Zeus! If you follow our Facebook page, then you may remember seeing the awful condition he came to us in. Zeus was tied inside a room and the previous owner withheld food in order to make him mean! Zeus was a challenge in the beginning. It took time for him to trust us and for him to let his guard down. We don't blame him. Now that he understands that not all humans are evil, he runs and plays with the staff he now loves!! He doesn't seem to mind other dogs so far. When meeting him for the first time, we are sure that it will take time for him to trust you as well, but he is a sweet boy that deserves to be truly loved!! Story
Meet Russo! Russo came to us along with several other dogs as a result of a large Humane Case. Russo has been such a social butterfly since he came to ICHS. Russo loves hanging out with his pals, our staff, and volunteers. He would probably befriend anyone if they had a tasty treat, though! When it comes to befriending other dogs, we would say Russo is dog selective and it would depend on the other dogs. This guy isn't just friendly and handsome; he is super smart, too! He currently knows how to sit and is eager to learn more. Russo did so well for his first-ever photoshoot that he was born to POSE! Russo has gone through heartworm treatments and is now heartworm FREE!!! You wouldn't know it by looking at him and it does not affect his happy personality! Weight: 63.2 lbsActivity Level: Medium/High Primary Color: Brindle Age: 6yrs 1mths 0wks
