Story
IS YOUR HOME SADIE'S PERFECT FUREVER HOME? Sadie is a beautiful 5 year old purebred 40 lb. liver/white female Brittany. She is spayed, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines and on heartworm and flea and tick preventatives. This sweet girl is also housetrained and crate trained. Sadie is highly active and loves to explore outside. Her foster mom has never witnessed her digging or trying to escape and Sadie has excellent recall. Sadie would love to have a big yard where she could run and explore. With proper training and supervision, Sadie's foster mom thinks Sadie would be a candidate for an invisible fence. In true Brittany fashion, Sadie is both intelligent and eager to please. Sadie does pull when walked on a leash and even though her foster mom and dad are working with her, she will need continued and consistent training. Although Sadie will tolerate other dogs, she is not extremely fond of their company. Sadie would love a home where she has no fursiblings. She has lived in a home where she was the only dog and that is what she is accustomed to. If you are looking for a beautiful smart middle-aged Brittany lady and you want an only dog, then Sadie could definitely be your gal! Her adoption fee is only $350 (to help cover vetting and to allow NBRAN to help rescue other furbabies like Sadie). Don't forget that NBRAN will transport adopted dogs up to 1400 miles, with the adopter only being responsible for the last approximate 100 miles. To learn more about Sadie, contact Suzanne Horsley ztasuzanne@gmail.com or Deb Tuthill agilitybrits@epbfi.com                                                                                    July 26, 2024, 4:25 pm

Story
Bella is looking for her forever home that has lots of love for her.  She is an 18 month old spayed female and is microchipped plus current on all vaccines.  Heartworm negative also. Bella is an active Brittany with long legs and extremely high prey drive so will not do well with other breeds of small animals like cats, birds, or rodents.  She loves playing with her foster brother so she will need another dog sibling to keep her occupied and entertained.  A six foot privacy fence is mandatory for this special girl.  No chain link or field fence will work.  Brittany experience is necessary for this girl. Bella has high exercise needs so will need to go to a family that walks, runs, or hikes routinely.  Since exercise is her life, she even carries her own fabric water bowl on her harness.  After exercising, running through the sprinklers is her favorite thing to do.  Bella is housetrained and crate trained.  She loves cuddling on the couch with her humans to nap or watch tv. If interested in giving Bella a forever home, please go to NBRAN.org and complete an application for adoption.  Her adoption fee is 400.00.  We will transport up to 1400 miles.  Contact coordinator for Bella is Lisa Vernon at doglover95966@yahoo.com.July 26, 2024, 4:25 pm

Story
Miss Maggie is the absolute sweetest soul!  She is a 1.5 year-old, 34 pound bundle of energy.  She loves belly rubs, fluffy toys and balls!  She walks really well on leash and harness.  She is crate-trained and gets along with everyone including older dogs and puppies. She is even good with dog savvy cats.  Maggie is good around other dogs when food and toys are present.  She is quiet and not a barker.  Maggie would love to have another dog to play with in her home and she will need a yard that is secured by a 6-foot physical fence.  She needs an owner who understands Brittany energy and is prepared to give Maggie daily exercise, including walks, and will continue with her training.  Maggie knows the commands sit, stay and come. She loves playing out in the yard but will settle down and snuggle as soon as you sit on the couch.  She is such a love bug to everyone she meets!  Maggie just wants to be part of a family.  Maggie sleeps all through the night next to her foster mom and will need an adopter who will let her continue that practice. Maggie is spayed, current on her vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Maggie’s adoption fee is $400.00 which helps to offset our vetting and allow NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members.  If you have the love, time, and energy to give this darling, sweet little girl the forever home she so deserves, please visit www.nbran.org and complete the on-line adoption application form under the Adopt tab.  Once the application has been reviewed, you will be contacted by your state coordinator.  A phone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process.  Please realize that all our dogs are placed in the most appropriate home for their individual needs.  We do not operate on a first-come, first-serve basis.   Maggie is eligible to be transported through our canine railroad up to 1400 miles from Salt Lake City with the adopter being responsible for at least the last 100 miles.July 26, 2024, 4:25 pm

Story
Bodega (“Bodee”) is one of the cutest, loving Brittany mixes you will ever see (pointer and lab in the mix).   She is a 5-year-old bundle of energy and loves attention from her people.   Bodee has basic obedience training (sit, wait, stay, drop it, off, go inside, go upstairs, go to your bed), is crate-trained and house-broken.  She is full of cuddles, loves all toys, walks and chest rubs.  Mouse-hunting is a specialty.  Bodee also loves enrichment activities and toys – snuffle and licky mats, filled Kongs, stuffed bones.  Bodee's perfect family will shower her with affection and love. Bodee will need to go to a home with a good sized yard surrounded by a secure, 6-ft privacy fence.  Her ideal adopter (adults only home) will have Brittany experience and be athletic.  Bodee needs daily exercise and would to be great for a runner and/or someone who can provide her with daily walks or hikes where there are not a lot of people and dogs.   Bodee has a sad origin story – she was rescued as a puppy from a hoarding/abuse situation where she was practically starved.  Because of those early beginnings she must go to a special home that is willing to give her the love, patience, and guidance she needs to deal with the results of that early trauma.  Bodee can be shy and timid with strangers.  Once she warms up to people she is very loveable and sweet.  She will do best in a stable, quiet household without lots of visitors.  Bodee can be dog reactive in certain situations and would thrive best if the only dog in a home, or, perhaps, with a docile male.  Bodie walks like a dream on a leash but she can be leash aggressive when she sees other dogs passing too closely to her.  Indeed, triggers for Bodee’s reactivity are confined spaces and high-value treats or toys.  Bodee can play well with other dogs when she has room to chase another dog or they are jumping around each other face-to-face.  Actual contact with other dogs makes her nervous and she doesn’t like being chased.  She gets nervous when dogs come at her from behind, are aggressive towards her, or get too close.  She responds best to positive reinforcement.  Her new family will need to be willing to work with her on these issues, which may always linger to some extent due to her horrific beginning. Bodee’s adoption fee is $350.00 which helps to offset our vetting and allows NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members.  She is spayed, current on her vaccinations, heartworm negative (on preventative), and microchipped. If you are interested in making Bodee a part of your family, please complete the on-line application by visiting www.nbran.org (the application is under the Adopt tab).  Once the application has been completed, you will be contacted by your state coordinator.  A phone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process.  Please realize that all our dogs are placed in the most appropriate home for their individual needs.  We do not operate on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Bodee is eligible to be transported through our canine railroad up to 1400 miles from southern CA with the adopter being responsible for at least the last 100 miles.  July 26, 2024, 4:25 pm

Story
Morgan and her sister Mallory are 7 month-old Brittany/aussie bonded siblings.  Morgan is the tallest sister, weighs 27 pounds and has a more Brittany face.  Mallory is slightly shorter than her sister, has a wider white blaze on her head and looks more aussie.  She currently weights 25 pounds.  They should both top out at between 35-40 pounds when fully grown.  Both girls are current on vaccinations HW negative, crate-trained, housebroken, spayed, and healthy.  Morgan and Mallory love playing with their foster pack and sleeping with their foster mom.  They love their squeakies and bones and love going for walks.  They know how to sit and are working on not jumping on kitchen tables and counters – yes, they are very active.  They will need continued training, especially leash work and manners.  Morgan and Mallory will need a home with a good-sized yard with a secure 6 foot physical fence and any gardens will need to be protected since these two are very fond of eating tomatoes.  They need daily walks or they will find their own activities to occupy themselves – like digging.  They are not only active but very smart so they must be kept well exercised to keep them from getting into mischief or finding unacceptable ways to entertain themselves.  Like all smart puppies, they love testing to see where they fit in and what they can get away with.    The girls will need very experienced dog owners who can take the time to work with them on a daily basis.  A home with small children or where the adults work long hours outside the home is not going to be a good fit for these two. These two girls love to sleep in a puppy pile with their foster mom on the bottom.  They love to wrestle and play with each other and their foster siblings and also love cuddling with their people, especially on the couch and bed.  And they love giving kisses to everyone. The combined adoption fee for Morgan and Mallory is $700.00 which helps to offset our vetting and allow NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members. If you are interested in making Morgan and Mallory members of your family, please visit www.nbran.org and complete the on-line adoption application form under the Adopt tab.  Once the application has been reviewed, you will be contacted by your state coordinator.  A phone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process.  Please realize that all our dogs are placed in the most appropriate home for their individual needs.  We do not operate on a first-come, first-serve basis.
