**Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time*** We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Meet Levi. He is a 6 month old, 25-pound ball of fun with the sweetest eyes and an adorable little “lion mane” that flows in the wind when he runs. This goofy, happy pup loves to play, explore and stay busy, and try to convince another dog to play with him. He is neutered, vaccinated, and currently being fostered in HOUSTON, TEXAS. Once matched with an approved adopter, he’s ready to transport out of state to his forever home. Levi absolutely loves other dogs and would thrive with a playful canine buddy who enjoys wrestling, running, and puppy shenanigans. He can sometimes be a little persistent when trying to convince other dogs to keep playing, but he responds appropriately when corrected and continues to learn good social manners. He’s friendly meeting new dogs and people and approaches life with curiosity, confidence, and excitement. Like many puppies, Levi still has a few things he’s working on. He can get bouncy when excited and may jump up to say hello, and he’s still learning what’s appropriate to chew and how to settle when left unsupervised. The good news? He’s smart, eager to learn, already knows how to sit, takes treats gently, and has made excellent progress. He is crate trained and has been making great progress with potty training, with no accidents in nearly a month. Levi would do best in an active home with a fenced yard where he can burn energy, play fetch, and explore. He’d especially love a family who enjoys including their dog in everyday life. Levi is happiest being your loyal little helper, whether you’re doing yard work, watering plants, or just hanging out outside together. When the fun is over, he’s also happy to cuddle up beside you and relax. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate young dog with lots of personality, Levi is ready to bring laughter, energy, and loyal companionship into his forever home. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. Story
Dixie is a purebred female brittany, approximately 3 years old, who is looking for her forever home.  She weighs about 36 pounds, and is a total sweetheart and very smart. Dixie was surrendered to a shelter, due to her former owner not having time for her.  She was previously a hunting dog, but it appears she may be gun shy. However, she still has great hunting instinct. Luckily, NBRAN stepped in and pulled her out of the shelter.  She was heartworm positive, but has now completed treatment.  Dixie is full of energy and loves to RUN! She will need a large fenced in yard, so she can do what she loves the most. She prefers to spend a lot of her time outside running and exploring the yard for critters. She also loves to just lay outside and watch the world go by.  She enjoys cuddling on the couch with her humans.  She is the perfect blend of a ball of energy and a calm cuddle bug. There needs to be another dog in the house, as that seems to comfort her and she looks to them for guidance.  She loves to play, but is a little shy at first. Loud sudden noises or quick movements toward her make her a little nervous.  She is a great car rider, is crate trained and housebroken. She knows her name, listens well and comes when called. She responds to "whoa" and loves "go hunt". She also understands "no". She is a typical brittany on a leash and will pull. She wants to follow her nose. She has not been around cats or kids, since she's been in foster care. However, given her hunting instinct, she would probably not do best with cats. And with her initial shyness, especially around loud noises, older kids would be best. Dixie is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. She is located in SC and is available for transport up to 1400 miles, with the adopter driving the last 100 miles.  Her adoption fee is $400 to help offset some of her medical expenses. If you're interested in giving Dixie a forever home, please submit an adoption application to www.nbran.org and mention her name.
