Story
Meet Lizzy. Lizzy is approximately 6 years old. She is getting used to being an indoor only kitty. She came to us not long after giving birth to her kittens from a good samaritin who found her and took her in and contacted us. All of her babies have been adopted, and now she is awaiting her forever family who will keep her as an indoor cat in the warmth and comfort of her very own home. She absolutely LOVES chasing the laser pointer. She's not a fan of being picked up, but will come to you for pets and attention. Lizzy's adoption donation is: $120 This includes her spay, rabies vaccine, distemper vaccine, pyrantal dewormer, FELV/FIV/HW testing and Registered microchip. Our full application can be found on our website: https://kittiesforkeepsrescue.com/applications Or you can email us and we can send you an application.

Story
Piper has gorgeous coloring and very expressive meows. She loves her canned food and will let you know when the time for dinner is Piper is a shy girl. With us just placing a cat in an unknown situation quite a few cats get super anxious and decide to hide and observe the new place and family from relative safety. To help the cat accept you and develop a loving bond, you would need to put in some effort, loving care, and patience. We think that Piper will adjust in 6 to 9 weeks. You would need to keep her in one small room (preferably your bedroom) and spend time just sitting, talking or even singing to her. April 10, 2024, 12:00 am

Story
Greetings! My name is Kallie, and I am a beautiful calico kitty. I personally think calico cats have it going on with their stunning good looks. I am a little shy around my human friends. However, I am working on coming out of my shell, and I love gentle petting sessions with my human companions. If you take a chance on me, we could become the best of friends. Plus, with human love, I will be able to blossom into the most amazing kitty and fulfill my destiny of making someone incredibly happy with my love. What do you say, do you want to make a love connection?💕❤️💕

Story
FOSTERED IN: Chicago, IL 60617 ESTIMATED DOB: 2020 COLOR/BREED: Black Shorthair KIDS: Teenage + DOGS: Yes CATS: Females HISTORY: Malcolm was an outdoor stray. His foster tries to care for and get as many of the neighborhood strays fixed as she can. Malcolm had been around for a few years but was incredibly friendly and kept asking to come inside, so his caretaker/foster couldn’t say no. Malcolm is FIV+ and FeLV+ Upon intake to Lulu’s he had bloodwork done that showed he was healthy enough to have the dental he desperately needed. ABOUT: If only Malcolm could tell us his story. His foster said he was one of the dominant males in the neighborhood prowling the neighborhood for about 5 years before he was neutered. Malcolm is both FIV and Feline Leukemia (FeLV) positive. Because FeLV is easily transmitted to other cats, he will need to be an only cat or live in a home with another FeLV positive cat. The lifespan of cats with FeLV can vary widely, but overall is unknown, so he will need a special adopter willing to love him for whatever time this world grants him. Malcolm is very low energy and likes to spend most of his time perfecting his napping skills. He likes his meals to be served on time and if you are late he will come get you and tell you that it is time. His foster used the following words to describe him: Gentlemanly, Sweet, Affectionate, Stoic, Quiet. Malcolm prefers to hide in unknown situations so he might take a little bit of time to warm up to his new family. His foster said he seems especially wary of teenage boys, so we aren’t sure if something happened in his years on the street to make him more nervous around males. He will likely be more attracted to females. Once he knows you he loves pets and cuddles and even likes to be held! Malcolm does great with the female cat in the house. He loves to groom her and sleep with her, but he doesn’t do as well with males. He generally ignores the large and small breed dogs, but he will curl up next to them for a nap so he would do very well in homes with cat-friendly dogs. He will be most comfortable in an adults only home as he isn’t curious about new things and instead chooses to hide until they are over. Do you have room in your home and heart for this special boy? The first step is to fill out our adoption application. More information and our adoption application can be found at www.luluslockerrescue.org. Story
FOSTERED IN: Chicago, IL 60654 ESTIMATED DOB: 2017 COLOR/BREED: Orange Tabby Shorthair KIDS: Older DOGS: Unknown CATS: Required HISTORY: Henry2 came to us from an animal control facility in NW Indiana. ABOUT: Henry2 is a very docile, sweet, agreeable kitty. Henry2 is very playful and enjoys all kinds of toys, but his fishing pole is his favorite. He isn’t a bother when he wants to play, he just calmly sits in front of you until you get the hint. He will play as long as you will, but he accepts when playtime is over. Henry2 also enjoys watching TV (seriously) so once playtime is over he is happy to curl up next to you to watch your favorite show. Henry2 loves to be pet all over, and even has a cute quirk that he won’t start eating until you give him a few pets. Henry2 likes to have a little bit of time to warm up to new people before he wants to be pet by them, but he doesn’t run and hide. He is very curious and likes to watch the new people for a bit, before asking for some pets. Henry2 will do best in a home that loves to talk to him and give him pets and scratches and share his constant company (because he will always be nearby), but understands that Henry2 won’t be the cat who wants to be picked up, carried around, and smothered. Henry2 has done excellent with the resident cats in his foster home. He loves to snuggle with them at nap time and is happy to match their play style. He interacts more calmly with relaxed cats, and loves a good roughhouse with the cat who prefers that play style. Henry2 never initiates rough play, but he is happy to step up to the plate if it is offered to him. Henry2 needs to be adopted into a home with at least 1 resident cat. Having cat buddies around makes him feel comfortable and confident. He would be a great playmate or companion to another cat. Henry2 is not being fostered with dogs, but his foster thinks he may do ok in homes with the calmest of dogs who won’t be interested in him. Henry2 is also not being fostered with children. He will likely do OK in calm, predictable homes with older children who will give him gentle pets and play with him, but who can understand he won’t want to be treated like a toy. If you think this easygoing, friendly, loving boy is a just what your home is missing you can find information on adoption and our adoption application on our website: www.luluslockerrescue.org. Henry2 is a very sweet, mellow, yet playful, agreeable kitty. He enjoys gentle attention from people, but he will take a little time to develop trust with new people. He’s the type of guy that doesn’t demand to be touched, but will always be somewhere close by. He likes to be pet and brushed when he has already chosen a spot to settle in and lie down. He doesn’t like commotion or loud voices inside his home, but he has adapted to the noises of city life with no problem. Henry2 loves when someone has time to play with him using the wand toy or laser pointer. He is not needy for playtime and will entertain himself with toys or wait patiently for you when he is feeling playful. His foster mom said he is the perfect houseguest and never gets into any mischief or trouble. Henry2 is currently being fostered with cats and he gets along very well with them and enjoys interacting and snuggling with them. We will require that Henry2 be adopted into a home with a welcoming, resident cat. Henry2 will prefer a more predictable home with less activity. We do not feel that homes with young, active children will be ideal for him. We do not know how Henry2 does with dogs, but we think a home without dogs will suit him best. Are you interested in adopting a kitty that you can watch blossom? Henry2 is ready to find his patient, calm, forever home. The first step in our adoption process is to complete the adoption application. More information and our adoption application can be found at www.luluslockerrescue.org. Henry2 really does like to watch TV: https://youtube.com/shorts/aQlqA-I2DHY?feature=share Henry2 appreciates some good pets: https://youtu.be/oK-ykTicgsU Henry2 playing with the resident cat: https://youtube.com/shorts/OHr1xIxKLqU Henry2 watches his favorite show: https://youtube.com/shorts/S3ZphU8W0WU

Story
FOSTERED IN: - Frankfort, IL 60423 ESTIMATED DOB: 01/2020 COLOR/BREED: Tabby Shorthair KIDS: Yes DOGS: Unknown CATS: Yes HISTORY: Disney came from a hoarding situation and was transferred to our care from one of our overcrowded shelter partners. ABOUT: Disney is ready to walk right into your home like he owns the place. We're pretty sure he'll take over your heart in the same manner. This super friendly, social boy is like having a dog without all the hassle. He has a deep, throaty purr befitting a cat his size. There's almost never a time where he doesn't want pets and attention - sometimes he'll literally throw himself at your feet and roll over to encourage you to reach down and give him a massage. Sometimes, he'll paw at your lap when you're sitting down so you can pick him up and give him a hug. Unlike most cats, he doesn't seem to have a spot that is "off limits". Disney isn't shy with strangers, so he's likely to make instant friends with any visitors you have over. He also does well with other cats, but sometimes he tends to push their buttons (he can't help it - he just has no respect for personal space), but isn't aggressive. Now, there is one more thing you should know. Disney has tested positive for FIV (Feline immunodeficiency virus), but this will not prevent him from living a long, happy life. The disease can only affect felines and is rarely spread to altered, friendly FIV-negative cats. It cannot be spread by sharing litter boxes, food dishes, playing or grooming. Transmission is only possible through deep puncture wounds (think non-neutered male cats fighting over territories) - again, Disney is a lover not a fighter, and is not the type to get into these types of serious scuffles with another friendly housemate. Additionally, he does not require any medicine for his condition, but since his immune system is a bit more suppressed than normal, he has the potential to get sick easier. For indoor cats, this is generally a non-issue as he will not be exposed to diseases and viruses in the safety of his home. Don't be scared by the myths people (and even some veterinarians!) spread about FIV. Take your time and do the research, and make your own decision about whether adopting an FIV cat is right for you if you have other felines at home. Disney also has a heart murmur, but he is asymptomatic and has been cleared for adoption by our cardiologist. Interested in adding this handsome, outgoing guy to your family? The first step is to fill out our adoption application. More information and our adoption application can be found at www.luluslockerrescue.org.
