Story
Bert is a middle-aged Cane Corso with a gentle, affectionate nature and a strong love for human attention. Despite his size and strength, heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a total softie who is happiest when he can be close to his people, preferably melting directly into your lap. He is something of a ladies' man and absolutely loves being surrounded by and doted on by women. Bert thrives on affection, attention, and, of course, treats, which he enthusiastically adores. As a Cane Corso, Bert is a powerful and intelligent dog who will do best with a confident, experienced handler. He is a wonderful companion and will benefit from clear structure, guidance, and consistency in his home. Bert is looking for a household where he can be the only pet and would be most comfortable in a home with teens or older. A calmer environment without small children will help him continue to thrive. Schedule an appointment to meet Bert at yoloshelter.org/dogs or email adopt@yoloshelter.org March 7, 2026, 9:32 am

Story
Hank was such a good boy on his day trip. Any adopter will be lucky to have him!! Here is his foster's report:We met with my friend who is a certified dog trainer and he was very impressed by Hank.We think he's closer to 1-1.5 years in age.He was calm in the carNon-reactive to bikes, scooters, strollers, or cars Friendly with everyone!!No signs of resource guardingPotty trainedSilly boy doesn't fully know his size or strength, acting like he couldn't climb into my carâ&#194&#128¦but he did hop in eventually.Met teens and a kid around 10 years old, whom he ADORED but his size got in the way when he tried to be friendly, so he should be with dog-savvy kids. Toddlers sat a few feet from us and he was curious but unfazed by their noisesDog-friendlyâ&#194&#128&#194&#148met my friendâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s female dog and was non-reactive toward a small dog passing by.Redirected from squirrels fairly easilyFood motivated but more toy-driven, especially tug toysSweet Hank will make a great pet. A trainer is recommended given his size and breed. The Presa Canario was originally bred as a guard and cattle dog. To meet this hunk of sweetness, make an appointment at yoloshelter.org/dogs or email adopt@yoloshelter.org.March 19, 2026, 2:52 am

Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? I am Amira! ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I’m a a lovely lady! HOW OLD ARE YOU? I was born in March 2022. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? Cane Corso HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I’m a perfectly-proportioned 80 pounds of fabulous! WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I have a beautiful soft grey coat with soulful eyes. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I like my kibble just fine, but, oh boy, do I love Nubz and any treats I can convince my humans to give me! WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I’m extremely playful and loyal. I love being near my human as much as possible. I especially love playing fetch or getting to chase after my foster brother. We have so much fun together! DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: I like to wake up nice and early, as I’m always excited for breakfast. Then I savor my leisurely schedule with a nice long bone-chewing session. As long as I get some playtime, cuddles, and a good walk, I don’t mind what order it’s in…I just want to be with you as much as possible. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? Oh, the MOST fun toy for me is my Kong ball! I have so much fun chasing it around! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? Sit, Down, Shake and I’m working on Stay. My foster mom says I’m SUCH a smart girl! WHAT SCARES YOU? I’m scared of being left alone, so I cry when my human leaves me alone. But I’m starting to get more comfortable being alone knowing that it’s not for long. And I am also not a fan of fireworks…Big booms in the sky? No, thank you! HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? I’ve met a few kids and they seem nice, but I’m a big girl so I think my excitement might be a little much for small kids. Older children only, please! DO YOU LIKE CATS? I see them on walks and they look fun to chase. I think I’ll pass on them as a playmate, though! HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I love hanging out and playing with my foster brother. I wasn’t so sure about him at first, but now he’s my best friend. With slow introductions, I will make friends just fine. Please set me up for success! IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? Right next to my human. I’m very loyal and lovable, so wherever you are sounds good to me! HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I am strong and healthy. Foster mom says I am perfect… and I think foster mom is absolutely right about that! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom, her brother, and my 100-pound pit bull brother. I love them all, but foster mom is my favorite. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I really don’t like being left alone, but I am safe in my crate when foster mom needs to go out. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I am a good girl sleeping in my cozy crate overnight. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? Yes, I love walks and am SUCH a good girl on leash! I need to be reminded of my manners sometimes because there are so many interesting things to see out in the world and I get a little excited! DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? I get anxious when I get left in my crate, so I scratch and lick at the sides too much sometimes. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? Yes, I haven’t had a single accident in the house! DO YOU LIKE WATER? The rain is not for me, but I am a very good girl in the bath. I actually enjoy them! WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? They spoil me with treats and cuddles, I get lots of time to play with my foster brother and there’s always a bone to chew on when I get tired. Also, we have a great neighborhood for long walks, which is so much fun for me! Oh…and my foster mom even takes me on car rides to get these things called pup cups! Yummy! WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? My owner got pretty sick and couldn’t take care of me anymore, so I had to go to the shelter. Luckily, NorCal Bully Breed Rescue got me out of there and took me to a wonderful foster home. Now it is time for me to find a home of my own where I will be loved for the rest of my life! I would really love to meet you and come home with you! Sounds amazing, right? **AMIRA’s ADOPTION FEE IS $100** If you are interested in AMIRA, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas.
