Story
Meet Terra, a sweet 7-year-old Cane Corso with a gentle heart and a quiet spirit. While we don't know much about her past, Terra has shown herself to be a softly fearful girl in the shelter environment and is still learning that the world can be a safe place. She would thrive in a patient, understanding home that is willing to move at her pace and give her the time she needs to build trust and confidence. As she begins to feel secure, we believe Terra's loving personality will continue to shine. If you have room in your heart for a deserving dog who just needs a chance, Terra may be the perfect companion for you. She is recommended for a family with older or no children at this time. Primary Color: Black Brindle Secondary Color: White Weight: 84 Age: 7yrs 0mths 1wks

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Litter of 5 (3F, 2M) transferred from Stray Hearts Animal Shelter in NM at approximately 8 weeks old. Rescue partner had a pregnant dog who gave birth in care, and once ready to separate requested transfer of puppies. From the foster: This sweet girl is the perfect mix of cuddly and curious. She loves spending time with her people and will greet you with the happiest tail wags when she wakes up from a nap, always ready for a few snuggles before heading out to play. She enjoys exploring the outdoors and learning from her foster sister, an older dog she looks up to. She's observant, eager to learn, and taking in everything around her. She does great in her crate and, after some playtime, settles right down for a nap. She's also doing wonderfully with potty training and has had no accidents in the house or her crate while on a consistent schedule. If you're looking for a mellow, affectionate puppy who loves people and is off to a great start with her training, this little girl could be the perfect addition to your family. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt

What we know: Litter of 5 (3F, 2M) transferred from Stray Hearts Animal Shelter in NM at approximately 8 weeks old. Rescue partner had a pregnant dog who gave birth in care, and once ready to separate requested transfer of puppies. Came with the name Olivia. From the foster: Wow! What can I say about this 8 week old puppy other than I would foster fail Nyx if I was in a position to do so. Nyx is an outgoing, happy, high energy, intelligent puppy. She loves to be my shadow and enjoys hanging out with her foster dad. Play? Oh yea! She loves to chase her foster brother around the yard, chase balls, tug of war, chew bones, speak her mind and rough house with her 60lbs foster brother. Sleep? At some point in the day you will start to wish she would slow down and take a nap. When she does, she sleeps hard and long. Nighttime, Nyx does well in the crate located next to our bed as she wants to be part of the pack. She may protest a bit at first, but a calm talking to will help settle her. She sleeps about 6 hours before letting you know she needs to get out for a potty break. Commands? She knows "sit" and "come". She almost has "down" mastered. Nyx easily goes up and down stairs. As with any 8 week old puppy potty training is an on going process. Nyx does well with regular trips outside where she will happily do her business. For in the house accidents she prefers a washable potty pad. Nyx is in her chewing stage, toys, furniture, shoes, hair, feet, electrical cords, sticks pebbles, anything you can think of she will try. Redirections and a watchful eye is a must at this stage. This wonderful pup is going to be a very large dog, loyal and protective of her family. She will need an active house with a family that will ensure proper training, exercise, jobs and puzzles to keep her physically fit and mentally stimulated. If you are looking for a large loyal, loving dog that will keep you busy Nyx will be the one for you. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
