Story
Staff notes - Emily is a great girl that enjoys living a mellow lifestyle, she loves the simple things like sunshine, lounging around, and living the slow life. She is a gentle giant that is a super sweet and loving girl! Emily is great on the leash, seems potty trained, loves to play dress up, has a gentle nature, and she LOVES to play with her squeaky ball! For a big girl, she's got some pep in her step and she will jump up and play chase with her ball. She doesn't stay active for long and enjoys lounging around after playtime. Anyone that's looking for a sweet gentle giant will adore this stunning girl!  Playgroup - https://youtu.be/ZqnThFUW4r8  Treat catch blooper - https://youtube.com/shorts/AA8yyeRnm0w The best of Emily - https://youtube.com/shorts/qK8rlnLtarA Let's play ball! - https://youtube.com/shorts/MHJNp6iffFk Playtime! - https://youtube.com/shorts/33gkNwvFzpA?feature=share With small dogs - https://youtube.com/shorts/l0EQfMGceaQ?feature=share Emily was rescued from a shelter in New Mexico. Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. Dogs adopted with our rescue come with FREE training from #GoodPup to help you build strong bonds from the start! If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free Pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with Pet First pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  A new study has concluded that (in layman's terms), breed assumption is NOT indicative of behavior in mixed breed dogs.  Therefore, if a dog looks presumably to be a German Shepherd breed, one cannot assume the dog will have a high prey drive.  From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability—how well dogs respond to human direction—was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs. Thus, dog breed is generally a poor predictor of individual behavior and should not be used to inform decisions relating to selection of a pet dog" - https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abk0639 ##2041561##

Story
I have a question for all your moms out there. How do you do it? Puppies are only with us for a couple months and that’s enough. Amber here and as a young mom, I am ready for a life without my puppies. I’m ready for some me time. This doesn’t make me a selfish girl, I love other dogs and people and I’m even OK with cats. I walk well on leash, don’t jump up and I’m housebroken. I am a calm girl who is trusted to free roam when my foster mom is gone. A home with a yard and another playful dog would be perfect! People say I am smart and have a sweet disposition. Do you have a place in your heart and home for me? If so, please fill out the application and let’s meet. I appreciate you taking the time to read my story love, Amber. If you're interested in meeting me please fill out an application at www.thegooddogrescue.org (If you already have an approved application, please email thegooddogrescueadoptions@gmail.com with your interest in me!) My adoption fee is $300.  I am currently fostered in Vail and the rescue is trying to move me to denver so they can finish my vetting and find my forever home. I am available for a foster to adopt currently until I am spayed!  ##1997186##
