Story
Ida is a six-year-old, pure bred Cane Corso. Originally from Panama, she is a gentle, loyal, and adaptable dog. She is house-trained and loves to snuggle. She is highly trained and responsive to firm cues. A classic Cane Corso, she is gentle by nature but very protective. She is very playful around friendly dogs and defensive around aggressive dogs. She makes both a great guard dog and a loyal companion. Ida is a loving part of our family, and we are looking for a family that has ample outdoor space, a dedication to loving big dogs, and a willingness to open their home and hearts to our girl. It breaks our heart to say goodbye but because of flight restrictions for her breed, it is proving very difficult to bring her overseas with us as we are relocating for work. We look forward to working with you to assess if your home situation is a good fit for our girl.

Story
Say hello to Tinkerbell - this sweet Cane Corso girl is estimated to be about 2 yrs old and originally came from California to start a new life in Colorado. She's naturally suspicious of strangers and doesn't always shine at first meeting, but warms to calm and gentle understanding of her special breed. Once she knows you, she enjoys attention and getting out for sniffy walks. She would do best as the only pet in the home. And just given her size and strength, it would also be best to have a calm and stable home without small children. Tinkerbell recently had corrective surgery for "cherry eye" in both eyes, and may need another vet visit to further correct (cost will be covered by Big Bones), but is otherwise ready to open the next chapter in life with her hero. Is it you? Previous handling experience with Cane Corso or other guardian breeds is advised. They require: - A structured home - Clear leadership - Firm (but fair) boundaries - Consistency every single day - An owner who understands canine behavior (not just “loves dogs”) -An owner who knows how to anticipate and manage their protective instinct

Story
Bennie and five siblings came into the world on Valentines Day to a Cane Corso Mum and Belgian Malinois Dad in the small apartment of a “backyard (apartment) breeder.” They were listed on Nextdoor for a hefty price and when asking price wasn’t found, said “breeder” told our rescuer “I just want him out of here, if you can come get him today, then take him.” This had nothing to do with our Love Muffin, who moonlights as a Stud Muffin, Bennie, she was simply living with too many dogs, at least eight we know of, in an apartment. When our rescuer picked Bennie up, it was as if he was seeing the world for the first time and had never been taken outside. He also hadn’t been given a single vaccination. Despite all that, Bennie is so sweet and pretty chill, especially given that he’s part Maligator. His face shape and body seem more Corso, while his colouring is more Malinois. He’s definitely not an Alpha, he’s more submissive. At only 13 weeks he already knows sit, is crate trained and is doing pretty good with potty training! Bennie has been in rescue less than a week so we’ve only gotten his first round of vaccinations. He will be available for adoption after his second round on June 8th. Red Fern Animal Rescue offers a two week foster to adopt trial in your home before finalizing the adoption to ensure the animal is the right fit for you, everyone in the home, human & animal, and vice versa. Red Fern Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based animal rescue in Denver that saves animals from abandonment and neglect in South Texas for new lives in Colorado. We primarily rescue dogs off the streets and the kill shelter in San Antonio. ##2743629##
