Story
My pet has been with my family since a puppy but the first people to raise him were really abusive and treated him the worst, until he was about 5 then my mom had him but could not fully give him attention due to work so he never got the full training he needed and at about a little after that i took him, i never hit him and did my best to train him but i have kids on the way and he is still a certain type of reaction that i cant risk all that to say he is house trained he doesn't go potty in the house but when he gets excited he tinkles, he's LITERALLY the best boy dog ever and is so loving and has gotten so so much better since i've had him but he is still reactive to other dogs and he has slight moments of aggression but not often at all he is 7 years old now and deserves someone who has the time and full effort for him he is the sweetest but has some tinks which makes him a dog you have to work with, This is panther thank you for reading

Story
Thanks to a grant from the Petfinder Foundation, my adoption fee is 75% off. So I'm only $50 to adopt. Hi I'm Mable! I came to the shelter with my 3 other siblings. Our mom was a Blue Heeler mix and our dad was a Cane Corso mix- so I'll likely be a medium sized girl but with the great personality mix of the two breeds! I'm a little shy as I haven't had much experience in this world but I'm sweet and willing to learn it with you! Give a sweet girl like me a chance and take me home.  If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2744925##

Story
Gina is a real sweetie! She is very playful and extremely loving and affectionate once she gets to know you, she just wants to be right by your side. She is great off leash on our farm. She has done wonderful with all the dogs she has been around. She was raised with cats as well but sometimes she will still try to chase them a little bit. She is pretty protective of whoever she is bonded with, but if I'm around I can get her to trust people pretty quickly, especially with treats. She will probably take a few meet and greets before she can actually go home with someone new to get used to them. She is a barker outside so we use a bark collar and then she is silent. She is crate trained and potty trained. We had her DNA tested and she is 80% Neapolitan Mastiff and 20% Cane Corso Mastiff. She just turned 1-year-old on April 17th. She doesn't chew up much but she is a counter surfer. Overall she is pretty easy for a puppy that will need a special person. She has not really ever been around kids much. I'm sure she could get used to them but right now she doesn't know anything about them. Please email if you're interested and tell us about yourself. No apartments. She will be spayed before she goes to a new home but we didn't do it early because of her being a large breed and needing time to grow with her hormones for her joint health.

Story
Zen is a 6-year-old male Neo Mastiff mix who’s as big-hearted as he is big in stature. Rescued from a shelter after his previous owners surrendered him for being “too big,” Zen is now on the hunt for his forever home where he can truly shine. Zen is a sweet, playful giant with a lot of energy for his breed. He’s very intelligent and learns quickly, making him a joy to train. However, Zen prefers to be the only dog in the home; he can get jealous and aggressive with other dogs, wanting all the attention for himself. When he's your one and only, he’s incredibly loving and will shower you with affection. Though he’s not reactive to other dogs on leash, Zen does best in a home without canine companions. He appreciates careful introductions to new people, especially those who approach unexpectedly. Zen’s ideal owner will be someone experienced with his breed and capable of continuing his training and socialization. If you’re ready to welcome a devoted and energetic companion into your life, Zen could be the perfect fit. He’s looking for a loving home where he can be the center of attention and enjoy all the love he has to give!

Story
Hazel has been waiting patiently for the right family—and we think she's more than worth the wait. Hazel has been in foster care longer than she deserves. She was surrendered by her original owner and later thought she'd found her forever home, but due to severe dog allergies that developed in one of the children, her foster family was no longer able to keep any of their pets. Through it all, Hazel has remained the same sweet, loving dog. Since moving to her current foster home, Hazel has settled in beautifully. She's been especially gentle with children in all of the homes she's stayed in and loves being part of the family's daily routine. Hazel is a true velcro dog who wants to be wherever her people are. She'll happily follow you from room to room, and despite her size, she's convinced she's a lap dog. She loves long walks, playing with her foster's large male dog, squeaky balls, and just about any chew toy. She plays hard, naps even harder, and her little nub tail is always wagging when she's happy. She's incredibly smart, eager to learn, and enjoys having a job to do. One of the things that makes Hazel so special is her unique heritage. She's a mix of livestock guardian breeds, including Central Asian Ovcharka, Anatolian Shepherd, Taigan, and more. These breeds are known for being loyal, intelligent, and deeply devoted to their families. They also tend to be naturally observant and a bit reserved with new people, so it's perfectly normal for Hazel to take a little time to warm up. Like many guardian breeds, she'll happily let you know when someone is at the door, but once she knows you're part of her circle, she's affectionate, goofy, and incredibly loyal. She's made wonderful progress in foster and continues to grow more confident every day. Hazel would do best with an active family, a large male dog to be her playmate, someone who is home much of the day, and people who will give her a little time to settle into a new routine. In return, you'll have a constant companion who will make you laugh, keep you company, and love you wholeheartedly. Hazel has been waiting for the right match, not just the next one. If you're looking for a loyal best friend with a big heart and an even bigger personality, Hazel might just be your girl. ##2644330##
