As of 6/8/2024, Bam Bam is a 1.5 year old Cane Corso. He came to us after he was fostered briefly by a Chicago police office when he was relinquished to his station back in May. Bam Bam is a sweet, loving boy but can be nervous in new situations. He needs a patient owner that will provide the stability he needs to gain some confidence. He loves playing with his toys....they are the way to his heart! He's very strong and needs leash work, but we can definitely work on that in training. These animals are not located in any of the Society's physical locations. As this is a Home-to-Home animal you are not required to fill out an Anti-Cruelty Society adoption application form. ***Her name is Chestnut, and she is believed to be a Cane Cross/Mastiff mix. She's a beautiful brindle approximately 4.5 years old and 100 lbs. She has been spayed and is up to date on rabies, distemper/lepto and Bordetella vaccines. She has been on continuous flea/tick preventative since June of 2023. She was found as a stray with no tags or microchip and has been boarded at Sibley Animal Hospital, 1020 Sibley Blvd, Calumet City since June. She is a gentle giant. One of the staff at Sibley is about 100 lbs. and is Chesnut's buddy. They play tug-of-war and while Chestnut could throw her around like a rag doll, she never even pulls on her. She takes treats very gently and never messes in her kennel. She is a little slow to warm up to people (no more than a few minutes), men in particular, but once she does, she's a love bug. She is fine with the house cats and other dogs. She is in perfect health and is on no medications other than the preventatives. While everyone at Sibley loves her, a kennel is no place for her. Tobias (Toby) - Male Cane Corso Age: 6 years Good with: Cats: Unknown Dogs: Yes, with a slow intro Kids: Possibly good with respectful children Location: Barnhart, MO Weight: 120 lbs Toby came to us from a cruelty case. He is the sweetest old man. He loves to just sit by you and get pets. He does fine being left alone, but prefers to be with people. He has met the neighbor dog through the fence, but has mostly ignored him. He has done fantastic with all the people he has met. He loves the car, and every time we go outside he runs to the gate hoping for a car ride. He is very chill but does throw his weight around when he wants attention The perfect adopter is patient and kind. Toby will need lots of reassurance to regain his confidence and to know that he is safe. His perfect adopter would be someone that can be home and with him most of the time. He seems to be ok with other dogs, but doesn't need a home with one. He is not big long periods outside, so would be happy with a daily walk. Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, the dog is considered available for adoption. Meet and greets can be scheduled with approved adopters. Transportation from the foster home to the adopter is the responsibility of the adopter to coordinate. Just Giants does not adopt outside of the continental US.
