Story
Hi, I’m Katerina and I'm ready to find my forever home.   Dog’s Name: Katerina Location: Ft. Atkinson, WI Date of Birth: 05/01/2025 Gender: Female Breed: Cane Corso Color: Black Dog's Weight: 80 Gets along with: Dogs?: Needs slow introduction Cats?:  Needs slow introduction Kids?:  All kids Training: Crate/Kennel:  Goes into crate/kennel on command Potty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidents Car:  Rides Well in car Meet Katerina, now known as Chloe Chloe is a loving, people-oriented 9-month-old giant breed pup who is still learning what consistency feels like—and she’s trying her very best. Because her early life lacked stability, Chloe has developed some separation anxiety and prefers to stay close to her person (think loyal shadow status ). She’s currently working with her vet and foster family on this, has started medication, and is already making progress as her routine is adjusted to build independence and confidence. Chloe absolutely adores people of all ages, sizes, and shapes. She greets life with enthusiasm and joy, which sometimes means she forgets just how big and strong she is. She can get excited and jump, so gentle reminders—especially around small humans—are part of her continued training. With her foster siblings, Chloe loves to play! Chasing friends around the yard and engaging in a good game of tug-of-war are some of her favorite activities. She does, however, prefer to keep her high-value items (bones, treats, food) to herself, so continued work on sharing and respectful boundaries is important. Chloe is crated at night and when home alone. While she’s not thrilled about going into her kennel, her new medication and routine are helping her settle more easily, and she’s showing steady improvement. Chloe will thrive with an adopter who has patience and time for a very active large-breed puppy, understands separation anxiety and is committed to helping her learn that it’s okay to be alone, and is willing to continue training, structure, and confidence-building She can be good for a first-time giant breed owner, as long as the adopter is dedicated, informed, and ready to put in the work that comes with a big puppy and big feelings. A home with another dog is a big plus provided that fursibling is non-dominant, patient and tolerant, and a good role model as Chloe learns manners and sharing A fenced yard is strongly recommended. Chloe enjoys outdoor play but has been known to hop fences if left alone, so a secure 6-foot fence with supervision is best—at least until she’s older and more settled. With guidance, patience, and love, Chloe has all the makings of an incredible companion—devoted, affectionate, and full of personality. Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. To apply to adopt from Just Giants Rescue fill out an online. Hi, I’m Periwinkle and I’m new to the rescue. I am currently decompressing and getting used to my foster family. Check back as my foster family learns more about me! Dog’s Name: Periwinkle Location: Chicago, IL Date of Birth: 02/01/2023 Gender: Female Breed: Cane Corso Color: Fawn Dog's Weight: 65 Gets along with: Dogs?: None Cats?:  Unknown Kids?: All kids Training: Leash trained: We're working on it Crate/Kennel:  We're working on it Potty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidents Car:  We're working on it Meet Periwinkle Periwinkle is a deeply affectionate, people-oriented girl who thrives on closeness and connection. She seeks constant reassurance from her humans and will happily lean into you for snuggles, follow you from room to room, and curl up nearby just to know you’re there. Being close to her people is where she feels safest, and she truly bonds with her person. She’s incredibly intelligent — sometimes too smart for her own good — and has figured out how to open doors and food containers. Periwinkle is food-motivated and eager to learn, making her very responsive to positive reinforcement and treats. She enjoys running alongside you and does so politely, and she’ll let you know if someone enters the space or if she needs to go outside to potty. She’s also wonderfully kid-friendly and does great with children of all ages. Periwinkle does struggle with separation anxiety and can become distressed when left alone. Because of this, she needs a home where someone is around most of the time and can continue working patiently on confidence-building and independence. She may bark to alert and can be reactive toward other dogs, but with slow, thoughtful introductions she can coexist well — especially with dogs smaller than herself. Periwinkle needs an experienced, patient owner who is home frequently and understands anxiety and dog reactivity, and who can support her as she learns to feel safe and secure. A fenced yard is helpful but not required if her exercise and enrichment needs are met. While she may not be ideal for a first-time giant or anxious-dog owner, Periwinkle will absolutely flourish with the right person — rewarding them with unwavering loyalty, intelligence, and endless affection. If you’re looking for a constant companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Periwinkle just might be your perfect match. Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. To apply to adopt from Just Giants Rescue fill out an online. Hi, I’m Olaf and I’m new to the rescue. I am currently decompressing and getting used to my foster family. Check back as my foster family learns more about me! Dog’s Name: Olaf Location:  Plano, Il Date of Birth: 07/11/2023 Gender: Male Breed: Cane Corso Color: Black Dog's Weight: 125 Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs  Cats?:  Unknown Kids?:  Older kids Training: Leash Trained: We're working on it Crate Trained: We're working on it Potty Trained:  We're working on it and making progress Knows sit and lay down Meet Olaf Olaf’s story is nothing short of incredible. This big, brave boy was rescued by a Good Samaritan after falling through the ice of a pond. After spending two months in a shelter, Olaf is now learning what it truly means to be a house dog again—and he is embracing his second chance with his whole heart. Olaf is completely overjoyed by toys. Stuffed animals beware—he loves tossing them in the air and can happily entertain himself for hours. He enjoys fetch and is learning tug-of-war (he hasn’t quite figured out the “tug” part yet!). His playful spirit is contagious, and his enthusiasm for life is unmatched. That said, Olaf is EXTREMELY strong and currently has no leash skills. He will need consistent, confident handling and ongoing training. He is working on his manners and learning quickly—he already sits and lays down on command. Potty training is a work in progress, but he's doing well.   Olaf loves affection and will happily press his strong body against you or tuck himself under your legs just to be close. While he may look intimidating, he is truly a soft-hearted boy who wants nothing more than to be your shadow and soak up attention. Olaf needs a strong, experienced giant-breed owner committed to continued training.  Due to his size and strengh, a home with a securely fenced yard and older children is best.   He is not recommended for a first-time giant-breed owner. Olaf will thrive with structure, leadership, and someone who understands the strength and needs of a large working dog. With guidance and consistency, he will continue to mature into a loyal, devoted companion. Olaf has survived the cold—now he’s ready for a warm, forever home. Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. To apply to adopt from Just Giants Rescue fill out an online. Story
*UTD/MICROCHIPPED/ ON MONTHLY FLEA AND TICK AND HEARTWORM PILL/SPAYED *good with cats *no kids under 12 ( she is very fast when she runs) *non- reactive dogs are best to pair her with *loves chew toys and tennis balls!! On Feb 08, 2024, Beauty was found wandering all alone in Sweetwater, TN near the dump by a Good Samaritan who posted on Facebook in a lost and found group but no one came forward to claim her. :( Our animal control officer, reached out to us for help with this situation and connected us with the finder. At the time, the Monroe County shelter was over capacity and euthanizing on intake. When she arrived at woofwoof fosters it appeared something strange was going on with her eyes. Turns out, she had a condition called Entropion which caused her eyelashes/eyelids to grow inwards! We scheduled her for surgery ASAP as this can lead to blindness if left untreated! Beauty has since recovered from surgery and is now ready for adoption! We have dog tested Beauty at our dog trainers place in Athens, TN and found out that she is good with non-reactive dogs ( we have been pairing her up with non- reactive dogs at our rescue for play) .She would do best in a home without young children as she has a LOT of energy, young kids could unknowingly get in her way. She loves to run and play and will require mental stimulation in her new home as well as frequent physical stimulation. We think some simple scent trail training or possibly snuffle mats may help meet her needs as she has a curious snout! Her most favorite toy is a tennis ball! if you have two, that would be great or else you WILL go through ALOT of them because she will chew them up right away! We are teaching her to bring it and leave it and wait for us to toss her second ball. sometimes, we will work with her on just one ball....but that is a lot more work vs having a second one ready haha! We do believe she is house broken as she has not made any messes in our home or the dog building. **We do offer foster to adopt to do a trail run** ( PLEASE ASK US FOR MORE INFORMATION AS WE TAILOR TO YOUR NEEDS/ REQUESTS AS NEEDED, THE BEST WE CAN) If you have any questions, please feel free to get ahold of us through here, or through our website at www.woofwooffosters.org . Thank you, woofwoof fosters -team This animal is being fostered in the South but transport to a location near you is included in your adoption fee. We use Rescue Riders Pet Transport, (www.rescueridersllc.net), the most animal-friendly transport on the road.
