Story
Meet Gator! The biggest (and softest) weenie of them all. This GORGEOUS dude came from a hoarding case and has not had the easiest start. Despite his rough start and living with 23 other Corso's, this guy is a gem. Gator is dog friendly, sweet, kennel trained, willing, and very eager to please. His body moves around like a fish out of water and his only goal in life is to be loved on and maybe secure a spot on your couch. If you want an absolute show stopper of a dog with meatballs as brains, this is your dude!

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
If you like them B I G and docile, this is the gal for you. This sweet princess came in needing a second chance after she ended up with our shelter partner. Her and a few of her friends were removed from a property in need of a second chance. Shyly is big and sweet. She is shy until she knows you, but never offers any concerning behavior. She walks well on the leash, is comfortable in a kennel, and is just a big baby. She is fine with dogs that are not overly excited and jumping on her. She will coexist with a lower energy dog perfectly. Due to her size she would do best in a home with kids over 10. This girl is about 3 and still has so much life to live. If you want a friend to help you get outside this summer, she would love a family to head out and adventure with. Come meet his sweet girl.

Story
Edith is a very sweet senior Cane Corso who was disposed of in Waukegan after a lifetime of being used and discarded. She is estimated to be 11–13 years old and has endured years of overbreeding, neglect, and cruelty no animal should ever know. All Edith wants now is a soft bed, gentle hands, and to know that she matters. She absolutely loves quiet pets and cuddling, and despite everything she has been through, she remains forgiving, resilient, and full of grace. Edith is nearly sixty pounds underweight, yet somehow unfazed by her past. She is simply ready for the good life she has deserved all along. She is asking for comfort, kindness, and a home where she can spend whatever time she has left feeling safe and loved. Please help us give Edith the ending she deserves. Whether through adoption, fostering, sharing her story, or supporting her care, you can be the reason this chapter of her life is filled with love.

Story
Hi, I’m Atticus and I’m ready to find my forever home!! Dog’s Name: Atticus Location: Plano, Il Date of Birth: 12/1/2024 Gender: Male Breed: Cane Corso Color: Brindle Dog's Weight: Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs Cats?:  Unknown Kids?: Older kids Training: Crate/Kennel:  Goes into crate/kennel on command Has good recall Meet Atticus  Atticus is a happy-go-lucky young giant who has truly impressed everyone with his quick and smooth decompression. Within just four days, he was confidently introduced to multiple dogs and is already enjoying indoor tug-of-war play sessions with his canine friends! During the day, Atticus is playful, upbeat, and full of classic puppy joy. When nighttime comes, he settles right into his crate without a peep, showing wonderful crate manners and an off-switch that many puppies take much longer to develop. This energetic boy loves toys, happily chews on his Benebones, and has no destructive chewing habits. He enjoys couch cuddles and affection, though he’s still learning that snuggling next to you is better than being right in your face . Leash skills and polite greetings are a work in progress, as Atticus is still mastering the art of not jumping—but he’s learning quickly and is eager to please! Potty training is going very well. While he was reported to mark in the shelter, consistent potty breaks have made a big difference. Atticus has had no indoor marking, no overnight accidents, and no issues while his foster is away at work. He may mark over other dogs’ spots outside only, which is very manageable. Best of all—no food aggression, no nighttime issues, and a fantastic attitude all around.  Atticus will thrive in a home that: Can provide structure, training, and outlets for puppy energy Has children 10 years and older, as he’s still learning his size May include other playful dogs (he enjoys canine companionship!) Can commit to continued leash training and basic manners He is suitable for first-time giant breed owners who are ready to learn alongside him and invest in positive training. A fenced yard will be a bonus but is not required with proper exercise and enrichment. Atticus is a joyful, affectionate, and promising young giant who is already doing so many things right. With guidance, consistency, and love, he’s going to be an incredible companion. Could Atticus be the missing piece in your family? Story
Hi, I’m Sarge and I’m new to the rescue. I am currently decompressing and getting used to my foster family. Check back as my foster family learns more about me! Dog’s Name: Sarge Location:  Noble, Il Date of Birth: 12/15/2024 Gender: Male Breed: Cane Corso / St. Bernard  Color: Black Dog's Weight: 120 Gets along with: Dogs?: Unknown  Cats?:  Unknown Kids?: Older kids Training: Leash trained: Walks loose on leash Crate/Kennel:  Goes into crate/kennel on command Potty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidents Meet Sarge Sarge is a gentle, thoughtful boy with the calm seriousness often seen in his Corso lineage. He carries himself with quiet confidence, but don’t let that fool you—his personality is just beginning to shine as he settles into his foster home. He is eager to please, responds well to redirection, and truly wants to do the right thing. Sarge is still in the early stages of decompression (not even a full week in yet!), so his foster family is continuing to learn more about his preferences and boundaries. At this time, there may be some resource-guarding tendencies, and introductions to other dogs are being approached slowly and thoughtfully. Stay tuned—there’s more to come as Sarge continues to blossom! Sarge will thrive in a home that understands and respects the unique needs of a guardian breed. He’s not looking for chaos—he’s looking for calm, structure, and leadership. His perfect match includes: ‍‍ A home with older children (ages 10+) An experienced dog owner, ideally familiar with giant or guardian breeds If there is another pet in the home, a female dog would be the best fit A household committed to slow introductions, clear boundaries, and positive guidance A fenced yard is strongly preferred so Sarge has a safe space to relax and explore Sarge is not recommended for first-time giant breed owners, as he will do best with someone confident in reading canine body language and committed to continued training and structure.  He's the kind of dog who forms deep bonds with his people. With patience, consistency, and love, he has the potential to be an incredibly loyal and devoted companion. If you understand guardian breeds and are ready to give Sarge the steady home he deserves, he just might be your perfect match. Interested in learning more about Sarge? Apply today and help this gentle giant write his next chapter! Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption.
