ZEUS Male, neutered 9-1/2 Cane Corso 105 lbs. Microchipped, up-to-date on core vaccines and takes monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention Zeus had a family that had to move without him and were devastated to leave him behind at the shelter. LOVEPAWS couldn't bear the thought of Zeus spending Thanksgiving alone in a noisy and overcrowded shelter so we sprung him the day before the holiday. Zeus is looking for a quiet home without a lot of hustle and bustle where he can live out his golden years on a soft bed in front of a warm fire (aren't we all?) He's being fostered with a 15 year old female dog that is not very snuggly with people or other animals, but she adores her foster brother Zeus and they have to be touching each other while sleeping in the same bed! Zeus also lives with a cat in his foster home that wants to be friends with him, but he's not sure what to think of her, so he just co-exists and naps on the bed with her too. Foster mommy describes him as a big ol' love muffin! He LOVES all women and older, considerate kids! He needs a little time and slow intros to warm up to men but once he warms up, he's a total love muffin! He's a strong boy and is working on leash manners. He loves carrots as a healthy snack! He really enjoys playing with toys and chewing on Nylabones. He's an adaptable boy and can be a chill couch potato or go for a walk! If he sees you touch his leash, you better be ready to walk him! Zeus loves scritches and pets so much that he'll stand beside his foster mom while she's on the computer working and nearly falls asleep standing up while she pets him and runs the back scratcher up and down his back. He's a silly boy! Zeus on his daily routine: I wake up, go potty in the yard with my foster sis Koda, chow down on breakfast then nap the day away with Koda until foster mommy comes home. When she gets home, I see her touch the leash and give her just enough time to get her shoes on before I start jumping at the leash for WALK TIME!!!! After working up an appetite on my walk, I eat dinner, go out for a post-dinner potty break, and come inside to snuggle with foster mommy (I make sure to get lots of pets!). I retreat to bed around 7pm after a long day and hope mommy and sis join me soon! We think senior dogs rock and have a lot of love and joy to bring to their adoptive families. Interested in adopting? To meet me, email my foster parent at Sarah.e.callander@gmail.com.Celeste is a smart girl, already learning her name, `sit,` `stay,` `come` and `inside.` She’s very cuddly and while alert to strangers at the door, is friendly when meeting new people. She has good house manners, is crate-trained (sleeps through the night), house-broken, and walks well on a loose leash. She has had supervised time off leash with her foster family`s dogs and cats, and she`s done well so far! She loves snacks! She sees us coming with tasty treats and she starts to wiggle that butt and she practically smiles! Celeste is 100% a survivor. Celeste and her babies were left alone for well over a week. HRA arrived just in time and they all, thankfully survived. Her puppies have all been adopted, and Celeste is now in foster care. Celeste is a beautiful but bashful gal whose confidence was a bit shaken by this ordeal. But slowly we’re seeing all her troubles melt away and she now wants to be close to us and get gentle pettings. She`s a very good girl who needs a safe place to call home.

Rosa is a beautiful and intelligent Presa Canario! True to the breed, she is a bit suspicious of anything you try to make her do and is mischievous! She loves to steal her foster parents socks to play with them. In addition to socks, Rosa is generally a very playful girl - she loves to play with toys and will toss them up to play with herself, will happily play chase or fetch, and just loves frolicking outdoors. Rosa has an incredible story of resilience. She was found by a kind woman living in the woods behind her apartment building, between two busy roads. Rosa is named for Rosa, who fed her for 3 months but as the season change, and she had not come closer to being able to leash her, she brought in additional volunteers to help trap her. Being such a smarty-pants, it took another 2 months for Rosa to be trapped and she endured consecutive days with highs in the single digits. Since coming into care, thanks to the patience and perseverance of her fosters, she's learning to be comfortable indoors again and to trust people. She has some hand shy-ness and is gradually increasing the size of her "safe space". Rosa is happy to follow her people anywhere when leashed up. She is completely potty trained and is a very polite and quiet house guest. Rosa is working with a trainer to work on her general fear of the human world and her desire to flee from anything that may seem scary to her. She is very fearful of sudden sounds and movements so going slow is a must. She's tolerant of handling and will happily jump in the car to head out on any adventures you desire! Recently, Rosa has made a dog friend! She can be overwhelmed by rude, pushy, barky dogs but in general, she exhibits positive body language and interest in doggos and we believe she would thrive in a home with a respectful, confident, friendly pup. Everyone that has met Rosa has described her as having an incredibly sweet temperament. She is affection-seeking and loves to have her head rubbed and scratched. She'll even nuzzle you for more! Rosa continues to progress at a fantastic pace, but any dog with this history requires incredible patience and kindness to help them reacclimate to living in a human run world. Rosa will be an incredibly rewarding addition to any home, who will provide joy and laughter for her humans!

On Feb 08, 2024, Beauty was found wandering all alone in Sweetwater, TN near the dump by a Good Samaritan who posted on Facebook in a lost and found group but no one came forward to claim her. :( Our animal control officer, reached out to us for help with this situation and connected us with the finder. At the time, the Monroe County shelter was over capacity and euthanizing on intake. When she arrived at woofwoof fosters it appeared something strange was going on with her eyes. Turns out, she had a condition called Entropion which caused her eyelashes/eyelids to grow inwards! We scheduled her for surgery ASAP as this can lead to blindness if left untreated! Beauty has since recovered from surgery and is now ready for adoption! We have dog tested Beauty at our dog trainers place in Athens, TN and found out that she is good with non-reactive dogs ( we have been pairing her up with non- reactive dogs at our rescue for play) .She would do best in a home without young children as she has a LOT of energy, young kids could unknowingly get in her way. She loves to run and play and will require mental stimulation in her new home as well as frequent physical stimulation. We think some simple scent trail training or possibly snuffle mats may help meet her needs as she has a curious snout! Her most favorite toy is a tennis ball! if you have two, that would be great or else you WILL go through ALOT of them because she will chew them up right away! We are teaching her to bring it and leave it and wait for us to toss her second ball. sometimes, we will work with her on just one ball....but that is a lot more work vs having a second one ready haha!
