Story
I first thought Kapone was asleep in his kennel as he was SO QUIET!But he slowly raised his head when I offered him a Milk Bone.He was interested but only mildly enthusiastic about the bone. But when I flashed the leash then he was more motivated! LOLAt 9-years old, Kapone is not in a hurry, his pace is measured and he (leashed up easily) walked at a leisurely pace outside. He has a keen nose and will work hard to convince you to allow him to sniff that really interesting smell emanating from a spot 15 feet to your right! LOLHe was not at all interested in the other dogs along his kennel walk and ignored the few dogs playing outside. His kennel was clean and he made it a point to do his business outside, so it’s very likely (at 9-years old) he’s housebroken.Kapone’s thick fur is coal black with a narrow white blaze on his chest. He has a low center of gravity (he’s short-legged) and has a strong rudder-like tail (typical of Labrador retrievers). My impression of Kapone is he knows who he is and knows what he wants: a warm place to sleep and 3 meals a day. If a leisurely pace and calm demeanor is your vibe then Kapone may be a great fit with you! Best news yet: Kapone is available to all adopters!!Prince George’s County Animal Services Division3750 Brown Station RoadUpper Marlboro MD301-780-7200

Story
Hello, I am looking to rehome my senior dog ( 12 years old). She is a spayed female  Cane Corso ( 70lbs) . Well trained with all basic commands and is house trained ( no crate or pads needed). She walks great on / off leash  and likes people/ babies / kids and dogs alike(never been exposed to cats). She is still active and mobile despite her age . She does have IMPA which is inactive and she’s only had one flare up since being diagnosed 6 years ago. She is not on meds . Queen was inherited from my mother and has been a loving member of our family but as   a Military family with new baby we find that we are unable to give Queen the attention she needs while caring for a child and managing the demands of life. We also no longer have a yard and this makes it difficult for her to get adequate outdoor time. Hoping to find her a great home to live out her golden years .  Thank you,

Story
Raine is searching for her forever home! WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS ABOUT ME: This sweet mama has devoted herself to raising her adorable litter of puppies, and now she's ready to embrace all the joys of life as a beloved companion. Raine is looking forward to her new adventure and all the wonderful experiences that adoption brings! Raine's foster family reports that she's doing great on walks and will quickly master her leash manners in a training class. One of her standout traits is her talent as a trained retriever-she loves to play fetch and will happily drop the toy at your feet! Recently, she's taken on the role of soccer goalie, skillfully stopping squeaky balls from getting past her. When playtime wraps up, Raine enjoys burrowing under the covers, where she can completely disappear! This sweet girl has a special fondness for cheese and won't hesitate to remind you if she hasn't had her daily share. Raine is also getting comfortable in her crate, happily settling in whether the gate is open or closed when her foster is around. With a bit of patience and training, she'll soon feel at ease in her crate even when left alone. If you're looking for a loving and playful companion who's ready to fill your days with joy and snuggles, Raine is the perfect match for you! Come meet her and see how she can brighten your life! Story
Baby Rob is looking for his forever home! High-energy and playful, Rob loves to play with his toys and other dogs. He is sociable, but also independent and enjoys his "him time. However, Rob will always curl up with you and cuddle when it's time to nap. If you're looking for a curious and gentle pup with a little bit of puppy chaos, Rob would be the perfect match! WHAT MY FOSTER SAYS: He is such a sweetheart. So friendly and cuddly. He likes to play with toys and romp around. He is in a funny phase with his legs and has the cutest awkward trot. He is very good about sitting by the back when he needs to go to the bathroom. He's very curious and gentle. He's not super clingy but when he's ready for a nap he will lay and cuddle with you. Very treat motivated which is good. He knows sit, and we're working on touch and come. -------------- Laila's Legacy Animal Rescue does not guarantee that any dog is housebroken nor crate trained.
