Story
MEET CHAMBER!   7 year old Chamber has a big, beautiful smile and would love for his smile to greet you every morning to start your day. He is an active, friendly 86 pound Cane Corso/Lab/Pittie mix dog who has benefitted from his stay at our rescue by working on perfecting his walk as well as his leash manners and sociability, and we are so very pleased with the outcome.  He lives with and plays with dogs that are about his size or smaller, and he does well as long as he gets to know them slowly and with proper supervision. He is treat-motivated and quickly learned sit, down, and paw and we're sure you can teach him more with a handful of treats! Chamber has also worked on the 'leave it' command, making him much easier to train as he quickly returns his attention to his person when distracted by fascinating things like goats and chickens.     Chamber would prefer an active lifestyle or a large, fenced yard with plenty of attention, but at 7 years old, he has outgrown his puppy activity level, so he's very motivated for couch duty as well.   Chamber can be a bit too excited when getting treats, so we recommend he go into a home with children 10 and up. He has a prey drive and should not be in a home with cats, gerbils, hamsters, rabbits, etc.   Chamber's adoption donation fee is $350, which includes spay/neuter, routine vetting and a microchip. You can apply for Chamber by filling out our online application, which is found on our websitewww.tarashouse.net or www.tarashouse.org. Please email us at info@tarashouse.netwith any questions.   Can you be Chamber’s person?April 16, 2024, 8:50 pm

Story
Zeus-at-a-glance: 9 year old, male, neutered, Cane Corso, 105 lbs., up-to-date on core vaccines, microchipped and heartworm negative. Zeus takes monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention.  Zeus had a family that had to move without him and were devastated to leave him behind at the shelter.  Lovepaws couldn't bear the thought of Zeus spending Thanksgiving alone in a noisy and overcrowded shelter so we sprung him the day before the holiday.   Zeus is looking for a quiet home without a lot of hustle and bustle where he can live out his golden years on a soft bed in front of a warm fire (aren't we all?) He's being fostered with a 15 year old female dog that is not very snuggly with people or other animals, but she adores her foster brother Zeus and they can be found touching each other while sleeping in the same bed together. Zeus also lives with a cat in his foster home that wants to be friends with him, but he's not sure what to think of her. He loves scritches and pets so much that he'll stand beside his foster mom while she's on the computer working and nearly falls asleep standing up while she pets him and runs the back scratcher up and down his back. We think senior dogs rock and have a lot of love and joy to bring to their adoptive families. Interested in adopting? Of course you are! Submit an application here! April 18, 2024, 4:54 pm

Story
I'm in a FOSTER HOME! If you would like to set up a time to meet with me, please email my foster parent at hradcjoanna@gmail.com.Million seems so surprised when he receives any love, I don't know if he's ever felt loved before. He is an awkward, lumbering, slobbery, gentle giant who pretty much just wants a soft spot to rest his head and some nice time strolling outdoors to enjoy his golden years.Million transforms into an entirely new dog when he's outside. He LOVES his walks! He's easy on a leash (given his big size!), loves sniffing everything, exploring, and even breaks into an awkward old trot sometimes, he just loves the fresh air so much! He's nervous around new people, and will even shake sometimes from fear, but with time, he learns to trust and then really loves back scratches! He'll even wiggle his back up into you to get more. And with people he really trusts, he'll roll over for belly rubs, and gently paw your hand for more.He hasn't had any playdates with dogs yet, but so far seems totally unfazed by ones that bark when he passes, and has wagged his tail sniffing our neighbor's dog through the fence. And so far he's also tolerated neighborhood kids, and just gets nervous and backs away when they come too close. His ideal home also wouldn't have a lot of stairs - they've been a bit tricky for him, although non-slip ones aren't as bad.To learn more about the wonderful, cuddly Million, contact his foster mom at hradcjoanna@gmail.comCheck out Million's video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fz6EZ0WgqBk
