Story
Blue is a big friendly guy who loves to cuddle. He was living outside with unhoused in the city. He was brought into my place of work and has been living with me for the past year. I am moving in with my partner in the fall and unfortunately he has a dog who does not get along with other dogs. Blue is great with other dogs! And all people! He is a big lover! He is going to need someone who is patient with him though as he does get nervous when left along in new places. He has settled into our apartment and routine but needs time in new environments. He does much better with a dog companion so would love a sibling if you had one. He is currently living with another dog and two cats.

Story
Meet our gentle giant, a Cane Corso and Neapolitan Mastiff mix born April 26, 2024. At 167 lbs, he’s a loving cuddlebug who enjoys being close to his people, whether lying by your feet or rolling happily in the grass. He is fully vaccinated, microchipped, house-trained, crate-trained, and knows sit, stay, and heel. He can stay out of the crate alone without causing damage. He’s friendly with strangers, good with cats, and has attended daycare and puppy play camp. While sometimes reactive with dogs at first, he redirects easily and often becomes playful after proper introductions. We love him deeply, but cannot give him the space, time, and exercise he deserves. He would thrive with someone experienced with large guardian breeds who can continue his training and confidence. In return, he’ll offer loyalty, protection, and endless love. He’s ready for a forever family.

Story
Mater is a big goofy boy! He loves going on walks around our field, people, and dogs. He loves roughhousing with dogs, but we prefer that he goes to a home with bigger dogs just because he’s so big himself! He’s great with children of all ages! He loves spending time with people and even loves being dressed up!

Story
Meet Messi! This big, handsome Cane Corso pup came to WARL as a stray and is ready for a fresh start. At 120 pounds and still growing, Messi is a young dog with a lot of love, personality, and potential packed into his oversized frame.Messi has enjoyed meeting new people outside at the shelter and has shown us he is equal parts playful and powerful. He loves chasing balls, carrying around his favorite stuffies, and spending time with his people. For such a big guy, Messi can be surprisingly lovely on leash, but he needs a home prepared for both his size and his breed.Messi is looking for an adult-only home with breed knowledge. and requires access to a yard or green space, and people committed to providing structure, guidance, and continued training. He would likely thrive as the only dog, where he can soak up plenty of attention. Messi can be reactive around barriers, such as barking at unfamiliar people through a fence, so his future family should be comfortable managing and working through those behaviors.Messi is a special dog who will flourish in the right hands—and for the right home/family, he will be an incredible companion. If you are interested in adopting Messi, please email dogs@worcesterarl.org!
