💜💜please give this sweet boy a loving home. He will bring lots of love and joy to any worthy household💜💜I will be without a home in a matter of weeksGuy is the sweetest gentle giant I have had. He is sensitive, loving, caring, and is a wonderful companion. I got him from a private owner's mother because she felt Guy was not being treated as he should be. He was 11 months old at that time. He is now almost 10 years old. He takes a prescription medication once a week for his prostate, in a spoonful of peanut butter. That medicine is approximately $11 for a 3 month supply. He also gets OTC supplement for hip and joint. He needs and deserves a caring, loving and low activity home. (I will be without a home in 2 weeks and that is the ONLY reason you are reading this)*Gentle*Affectionate*Loves 'pets', begs for more*Likes to sun bathe*Absolutely loves his babies (mostly teddy bears)*Favorites pet spots, head and belly and butt*Stays close*Likes to sit/lay on me💜Please help💜

Story
This handsome hunk is a rare find. If you are into giant pups but do not want the exercise that comes with being a parent to a big dog, then come meet Chunk today! This baby is as laid back and calm as they come. Don’t get me wrong, Chunk certainly gets excited here and there, especially when he sees you or when it's time to play ball. He does the Chunka Munka wiggle, sometimes getting low to the ground like he is about to pounce, but no, he just wants you to get excited about him too! If you oblige, he wiggles even harder 🙂 He immediately leans in for hugs and pets. This boy is a leaner! All 140lb as close as he can get to you 🙂 For a big guy, Chunk walks well on a leash until he sees a pup in his path. He whines and barks, not because he doesn’t like them, he wants to go over to say hello and is frustrated by the restraint of the leash. Off leash, separated by a fence, he is wonderful! No barks or whines, just enjoying the pups’ company. Some rambunctious pups may bark at him, but he does not care nor respond 🙂 He carries on doing his thing. Chunk is good company to relax and enjoy a glass of wine with. He just lays quietly next to you, busy with his toys. He loves toys, this boy 🙂 He brings his ball to you, drops it on the floor and that's his cue for you to pick it up and throw so he can fetch it. Oh, and he gallops over to you when you call him with your arms outstretched. Chunk is a 6-year-old, 140lb Cane Corso. He appears older than his age, his teeth all ground down. We think he was neglected in his earlier years, left to fend for himself. He was found abandoned in a park, playing with kids until the authorities came to whisk him away. Chunk is looking for a family who will embrace him as a valued family member, a companion to one or all. He loves his people. Chunk is crate trained, and a low maintenance gentleman. Chunk is vision and hearing impaired, so an adult-only family is preferred.

Story
Meet Sweet Pea! If you’re looking for a big-hearted girl with an even bigger love to give, meet Sweet Pea. This beautiful 11-year-old Cane Corso mix is as sweet as her name—and she’s ready to spend her golden years surrounded by love, comfort, and plenty of TLC. Sweet Pea came to us looking a little rough and like life hadn’t been treating her very kindly. But we’ve made her a promise: those days are over. From now on, it’s only the best for this sweet senior lady. That means cozy beds, full bellies, loving people, and all the attention she can handle. Sweet Pea currently weighs 60 pounds and could stand to put on a few more pounds, so we’re hoping to find a family who will help her get healthy, happy, and feeling her best. She has medium energy and enjoys being with her people. In fact, she’d probably be thrilled to be your favorite shadow—wherever you are, she’d like to be there too.On walks, Sweet Pea can be a bit of a freight train with a leash, so she’ll need a strong, confident handler who can help her brush up on her walking manners. But don’t let that fool you—underneath that strong-girl exterior is an older lady who really just wants someone to love her and a comfy spot to call her own. Her compatibility with cats, dogs, and children is currently unknown. As always, a meet and greet with resident dogs is required.Sweet Pea is available through our Foster-to-Adopt Program, which means you can welcome this lovely lady into your home while she completes her veterinary care, including her spay, vaccines, microchip, and heartworm testing.Sweet Pea has had enough hard days. She’s ready for the good life—and we think her best chapter is just beginning. Could you be the family who shows her just how wonderful being loved can be?To add this beautiful girl to your family, please email dogadoptions@parmashelter.org and complete an online dog adoption application. Adoption fee: $85.

**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Shavo. I'm about 1 1/2 years old and I weigh about 65 lbs. I was found as a stray in the Salem area and I was brought into the pound. Though I am obviously a mix, I have a very corso-like personality. I can be a bit aloof and untrusting of new people, but once I get to know you, I am a very sweet and affectionate boy. I have been good around the other dogs, especially females. I love to play. I don't appreciate dominant or pushy male dogs. I am very clean in my kennel and I do appear to have been a house dog at some point before making my way into the pound. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. Story
Hi hi! I’m Tinsel, but you can call me Tinny 💕 I’m a 4-year-old Cane Corso mix with a heart bigger than my paws. I’m a little shy when I meet new friends, but once I know you, I’m all cuddles, kisses, and snuggles. I love to stay close to my people and give lots of love. I have a best buddy named Robbie. He’s a Rottie, and we have so much fun playing together and just chilling side by side. I get along with other dogs too, but I’m still learning about new things and big adventures, so a calm home without little kids would make me happiest. I haven’t met any kitties yet, so I’m not sure how I feel about them. I promise that if you give me patience, love, and a cozy spot, I’ll be your most loyal and snuggly friend ever. Could you be the special person to give me my forever home? I can’t wait to meet you and shower you with love 💕🐶
