Story
Koffi is the sweetest girl. She is also very protective. She is shy and likes to get used to people before she likes them. She is playful, snuggling, can be clingy but is great being alone. She is potty trained and bed trained. She knows when bedtime is. She is a pandemic dog, she you never know what side of her you'll get when it comes to other big dogs. She is a sweety and curious to smaller animals.

Story
Born 11/20/2022, Mars was born in our rescue on 11/20/2022 along with 8 siblings. He was adopted as a very young puppy where he lived for exactly one year to the date. His owner decided on his one year adoptaversary that she was not able to keep him due to life changes but would be keeping her other two dogs. Poor Mars has no idea what is happening and why and we are completely heartbroken for him. All he has ever known was this family since they were also the family that fostered him as a baby once he was old enough to be separated. Now, he finds himself looking for a home again because his family has decided to divorce and neither wants to care for him.  Mars is a year and 4 months old, weighs 80 pounds and gets along with everyone and all dogs. He goes to doggy daycare twice a week and takes longs walks during the day. He is a cane corso pittie mix who just wants to be around his people. He would love a home where his people are around more often than not. After everything he is going through right now, it is understandable that he is feeling the changes and wants to be with his person. Mars also has seasonal allergies so he would need either an injection of cytopoint every 4-8 weeks or apoquel once a day. Other than allergies, he is a super healthy and beautiful boy.  We are desperate to find Mars the perfect family this time. We promised him we would never fail him again and we hope that someone sees him and falls in love like we have with this amazing pup. Mars is not cat friendly. To adopt Mars, please apply on our website! www.keytolionsheart.org/adopt   &#226&#128&#139Please note we cannot guarantee the age or breed of any of our dogs. All of our dogs are working on their crate and house training.May 11, 2024, 9:04 pm

Story
Zeus-at-a-glance: 9 year old, male, neutered, Cane Corso, 105 lbs., up-to-date on core vaccines, microchipped and heartworm negative. Zeus takes monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention.  Zeus had a family that had to move without him and were devastated to leave him behind at the shelter.  Lovepaws couldn't bear the thought of Zeus spending Thanksgiving alone in a noisy and overcrowded shelter so we sprung him the day before the holiday.   Zeus is looking for a quiet home without a lot of hustle and bustle where he can live out his golden years on a soft bed in front of a warm fire (aren't we all?) He's being fostered with a 15 year old female dog that is not very snuggly with people or other animals, but she adores her foster brother Zeus and they can be found touching each other while sleeping in the same bed together. Zeus also lives with a cat in his foster home that wants to be friends with him, but he's not sure what to think of her. He loves scritches and pets so much that he'll stand beside his foster mom while she's on the computer working and nearly falls asleep standing up while she pets him and runs the back scratcher up and down his back. We think senior dogs rock and have a lot of love and joy to bring to their adoptive families. Interested in adopting? Of course you are! Submit an application here! May 15, 2024, 6:53 pm

Story
Meet the stunning Big Blue, a 2-year-old Cane Corso mix weighing an impressive 98 pounds. With captivating green eyes, he's sure to grab your attention! Big Blue, crate trained and in the process of house training, is neither destructive indoors nor outdoors and isn't overly vocal in his foster home. Responsive when people call him over, he does well on car rides and walks well on a leash too.  This energetic fellow would be a great running partner as he really enjoys running around and is very active! He loves to play and also loves small pillows.  While he thrives around people and is good with kids, he is selective with other dogs, favoring larger females over small dogs and males (absolutely no male / small dogs and no cats in his future home). He plays well with his foster’s large female dog and others he’s met.  A fenced yard is required for Big Blue’s forever home and it would be ideal if his adopters have experience with his breed as they are not for everyone! Again, applicants must not have male dogs, cats, or small dogs. Please don’t wait, he’s a serious catch and will not be available for long!!!  DISCLAIMER- Breed type is determined based on general appearance and behavioral characteristics and cannot be guaranteed unless DNA test results or AKC registration were provided at intake. ***MOST OF OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN TEXAS, BUT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT OUT OF STATE. Read below for more information. Our dogs are transported to a predetermined location agreed upon by the rescue. The adoption contract and fee are finalized prior to transport. As a Pep's Pals Rescue direct adoption, the adoption interview/meet and greet occurs on video call (Skype, FB Messenger call, Facetime, etc).  Our adoption fee is $350 plus health certificate and transport (varies by location). This fee includes all current vaccinations, deworming, microchip (additional $12.99 registration fee required at time of adoption), fecal analysis, spay/neuter for dogs 6 months & older, and a heartworm test if over 6 months old. All dogs are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. A health exam will be completed and a health certificate issued by a veterinarian within 10 days of transport.
