Augustus is a kitten that was likely born in March or April 2025. He is rambunctious and wants nothing more than pets from his human and some playtime. He has a zig-zag bend in his tail, but it shows no sign of bothering him. It's just a reflection of his quirky personality! Since Augustus is a pretty mellow guy, he tends to get bullied by other cats so we believe he’d do best as an only cat. He has all shots except rabies (which he can get when he is 6 months old). They were born with Manx syndrome, so they can't walk normally with their hind legs, but that doesn't stop them from being happy, playful, and cuddly kittens. Their beautiful eyes and true interest in being with you spark a joy and love in your heart like no other. Taking care of them brings the satisfying gift of caring for others, a truly selfless love. They need some extra care - helping them express their bladders and bathing them. But they are relaxed and patient, knowing they are receiving the care they need. They are currently receiving acupuncture, physical therapy, and walking exercises to help them improve their functional ability as much as possible while they are developing -- and they are improving!!! Xena has a special story, making her way in life, not receiving the care and understanding she needed. She originally belonged to a family with a busy home with children. She was not spayed by the family. She was allowed to go in and out of the house (despite the dangers of outdoor life). Of course, she turned up pregnant and birthed her 4 kittens in the home. When the kittens were 4 weeks old, the family ejected her and 3 of her babies onto the lawn in the middle of summer with no protection, because the babies were still learning to use the litter box, and they didn't want to tolerate this phase. Xena and kittens were fostered together until the kittens were old enough to get spayed and neutered and have all found homes. Mama Xena is also scheduled to be spayed. It is now her turn to find a home that will love her unconditionally. We think she's had a hard life, and enjoys the comforts of being in a home receiving love and companionship from people. She shows no interest in returning to a life of running around outside. Xena is a delightful, curious, calm, and affectionate cat.
